how much love Zelda gets surprises me, since it was at a high point for basically 2 games and everything before and after was somewhere between good and okay.

compared to like Mario where there's been maybe two games that weren't really great.

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness

Had some good moments but mostly it was a glitchy mess and a mass of wasted potential. Thankfully Legend came around a few years later and did it right. Tomb Raiders 3 and 5 are both "average", decent games but not particularly good. Everything else is quality

That's so much fun to do though!

Literally adds more challenge to the game than anything in a normal run. Tower Escape Stalfos too powerful.

Interestingly enough, I prefer both The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to A Link to the Past, but Super Metroid is my favorite Metroid game.

Really, there's nothing else worth talking about after this, because that game was just so horrible compared to the rest of the series that anything else would either be "not bad enough" or the rest of the series would be "not good enough". Well, I've heard that Sonic 2006 could compete, but I've never actually played it and I'm not LMS so I'm not going to speak just from seeing a Let's Play (also, I never got terribly far in that Let's Play anyway.)

I guess I could mention A Link to the Past, but that wasn't actually that bad and the Legend of Zelda series was never really a huge draw for me anyway. Worst Sonic game that I actually have played? Eh...probably the original, because no Spin Dash is just plain stupid.

Dude, Phantom Hourglass is awesome. In fact, it's time for a highly controversial opinion.

Worst portable Zelda (not counting ports of games originally on consoles like ALttP) > best console Zelda.

...Okay, that's not completely true. I almost forgot about Minish Cap, because it was that forgettable. But yeah, my four favorite Zelda games are all portable-exclusive--Link's Awakening, the two Oracle games, and Phantom Hourglass.
