LOL yeah, next week is against HENRY. We'll see what D Bry comes up with there!
(and this week was totally Plan B)
I just hope that there's some reasonable end in mind for this reign. If he was just gonna continue to be the same guy just now in the main event, I was fine with him dropping it in the Chamber to set up something more...palatable to the masses at WM, but if they're gonna invest the creative effort to turn him like this, then he needs to hold it until WM and then some face needs to take him down there.
But that face can't be Orton or else any moral the tale could potentially have gets completely wasted.
...Rey?

SETH ROLLINS wins the Royal Rumble and faces Daniel Bryan at WM, proving that he has learned from their 2009 trilogy and has now surpassed the American Dragon!
...heck I'm stumped as far as WM opponents for Bryan.

but seriously, i do think they're going back to that script. they abandoned it then and rightfully so - too soon and it makes for a much better heel turn situation

Or heck, maybe they just feed Heel Bryan to Sheamus at WM and we can get the match we wanted last year but with alignments swapped and for a bigger title.

Between WWE and TNA, there have already been 10 televised title matches in 2012 (including 5 World Title matches!) in only 13 days, resulting in absolutely zero title changes.
Who will the the first Champion to fall in the new year?

As much as I like all the debate over the Bryan/Show/Henry angle, I can't help but feel that no matter how much we try to make sense of it and come up with ways to make it into a compelling story, the fact will remain that the WWE probably doesn't care, and hasn't planned any of it out beyond "we need the Show/Bryan thing to be unresolved so when we get a Henry/Bryan unresolved match, we can book a triple threat for the Rumble" and Bryan will immediately drop his entire established personality as soon as a week comes where it isn't specifically needed (exactly like Christian did last summer).

Also, another interesting question about Bryan that is more applicable since it's there in any scenario where Bryan keeps going heel.
Should Michael Cole hate heel Bryan?
It's an interesting dilemma. Character consistency demands he does it, and the WWE should do everything it can to actually have consistent personalities, since that's rather rare. But then you have the problem where the entire announce team will be constantly burying him, which doesn't sound like it could possibly work out well.

"You know, Daniel Bryan may be a total nerd, but I can't say I disagree with his tactics here. He's doing what he has to do to win! HOW CAN YOU FAULT THAT BOOKER?"

I have my doubts that Cole is actually capable of doing that. It would end up the way it is now, where he "admits Bryan is a good wrestler" by mentioning "Bryan isn't that bad" once for every ten minutes he spends ranting about how Bryan has never won anything in his career and is totally incompetent.

What was weird was that the heel, Michael Cole, was talking about how much Daniel Bryan sucks for having to cheat. And the face, Booker T, was talking about how he likes that DB got himself disqualified and did whatever he could to get out with his title and how he's still NUMBER ONE ON HIS FAVE FIVE.

I actually like the idea of Rey vs Heel DB. Since Rey has basically been in the same situation but went about it in a very different way. For Rey there is no Plan B, he wins or he loses but either way it will be based on whether he can beat the guy in the ring fair and square. As Jakyl said when DB faces Goliath he has a slingshot that fires rockets, when Rey faces Goliath he tells him to drop his armor and sword and face him like a man.

Barrett chooses the WHC right away due to his previous dominance over Bryan on NXT and on SmackDown.
At the Elimination Chamber, Orton steals Kofi's spot and enters the match and wins the title.
Wade is now STUCK with his WHC decision and has gotten himself stuck into a match with the one guy who wants to kill him more than anyone else.
This is my favorite hypothetical. Orton continues to screw kofi, orton /Barrett gets a big blowoff, with comeuppance a plenty for Barrett.
Plus sd isn't about Bryan for thenext 3 months... the only downside is short of a headpunt after chamber, Bryan never gets whats coming to him.

http://img.imgcake.com/nio/81edpngej.png edwardsdv and swordz9 are basically the comedy heel tag team of this topic, why would people be taking them seriously?
I feel like I'm getting into that phase where every few years, I get fed up with pro wrestling and just stop paying attention to it for a year or three. I'm just not interested in much that's going on right now beyond CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler (and as much as I like them feuding, that does mean fewer interesting segments than if they were in separate programs), and seeing where this Daniel Bryan thing leads. Kane to a lesser extent. I feel like if given the ability to know in advance exactly which segments would contain which people, those people and the Funkasaurus are the only people I'd watch. Even Ryder and Barrett aren't motivating me much, and I like those guys a lot.

From: JaKyL25 | #233 If you like Kane appearing in segments, you'll like a lot of Raw! <_<
I thought Raw was pretty well-done and entertaining in spite of having only one watchable match, but others disagree.
I didn't mind Raw too much this past week (although I turned it off when Jericho's appearance didn't immediately involve him doing something actually interesting), I'm just finding myself dreading the shows every week. Kane being a creepy stalker was kind of funny at least, though from what I've heard the final segment involved him and Ryder and Eve and was apparently awful.

Yeah I watched most of this weeks Raw on the repeat, it's this upcoming week where I'm debating whether or not WWE programming will trump playing more Skyrim or something.
--

Get a handheld console and "half watch" Raw, letting the handheld occupy more of your attention than not. Or a laptop with Skyrim. If something presumably interesting comes up then give it your full attention. Usually I'll fully watch the matches and the more interesting interviews, mostly ignoring the clips and the zzz interviews. Very rarely does it turn out that I feel like I missed something I needed to see.
Honestly this is how I watch wrestling these days. The televised product hasn't been worth my full attention in a long time.
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Roode promising title shots that he has no intention of delivering is so derivative of Christian's run(s) in TNA! Roode was around during that time, too, so he should know that it didn't end particularly well!

I just switched to Universal HD where last week's Raw is rerunning, and the CM Punk vs Jack Swagger ending was definitely a botch. Punk looked like he was saying "NO, I have to do the Anaconda Vice!" and then got up and started shouting right in the ref's face. Then after having his arm raised, he turned his head to shout a few more things at the ref, who looked sort of scared for his job.
And then after calming down, he started taunting Ziggler about how he'd won and didn't look angry at all.

I think this may actually be my favorite match ever. Back then my best friend and I were full-on cult of Jeff Hardy worship. Like, we weren't quite as bad as Icehawk, but getting close anyway. So when this match happened, we were both living and dying with everything because we were still young enough to believe Jeff could actually win.
Even now I still get some of the chills from hearing JR's announcing and remembering how my friend and I were screaming our lungs out for Jeff to do it.
It's so disappointing what Jeff Hardy let himself become.
