Bleh. I hate Primo/Epico/Rosa since Primo/Epico are so ridiculously generic and are almost some sort of mirror of each other while Rosa is grating as hell with her horrible spanish.
And the Usos are just kinda there. They've never had any personality aside from their dance, I just seriously don't care for them.

The guy that does the Column of Honor on 411 outlined this better than I am here, but the biggest problem in ROH at the moment is this weird multi-level continuity they're working with.
They're basically running two different kayfabes.
There's the TV Show kayfabe in which everything happens when it airs, and TV show angles are blown off at the iPPVs, and the non-televised shows are just basically house shows where title changes matter but nothing else does (although there hasn't actually been a title change at a non-televised show since the Sinclair shows started so even that hasn't been tested yet).
Then there's the regular live event kayfabe, in which angles are still progressed, stuff happens completely independently of the TV show (i.e. people earning title shots and then getting them) which are never mentioned on-air, and angle advancements that happen on-air "don't count yet" for live events UNLESS they are title changes.
****ROH TV SPOILERS**** We're seeing this now with the breakup of future shock, which "will happen" in 3-4 weeks on TV but "hasn't happened yet" on the live events seeing as they are still being booked as unit for next weekend.****END SPOILERS****
I don't see how they think this sort of kayfabe is a positive. Maybe it's Cornette; I mean, this sort of thing happened a lot 20 years ago. But there's no excuse for it in the modern day, and even the HDNet show didn't suffer too from it.

Nothing, just that it's not like they "bumped regularly scheduled programming to bring you this historic match." It was always their plan to air that match as an episode of the show. It was taped a month and a half ago!
And last weekend they taped the next 4 episodes, so I wish they would just start airing them instead of waiting 2 weeks.

I agree with this. Both of those teams are "generic ethnic stereotype tag teams." Could anything BE more boring?

I have to admit, from a "Creating Brand Awareness" standpoint, their saturation of TNA with their logo and commercials has done a great job. I had never heard of them before, and now I have, and I associate them with the product they're selling.

I'm hoping that sometime soon we get a backstage brawl that damages a car (like Orton/Barrett), complete with the owner of the car running over and being in shock, but then realizing (in a fourth-wall-breaking look-at-the-camera shot) "Boy, it's a good thing I have Direct Auto Insurance! The only insurance that covers Professional Wrestler Damage!"

Jaykl, I have something for you to chew on since you're kinda the stat guy. It's easy to track how long someone has held onto a title in duration of days, but how many defenses is a different issue. I think we should start tracking that as well. Like even though Bryan has had a shorter timewise reign than Punk I would imagine he should be close in defenses now.

All the top Indy feds do that, but with WWE and TNA it gets trickier because you have to decide whether to count house shows or not.
Obviously you'd count cases like tonight when a title actually CHANGED HANDS at a house show, but in reality Air Boom have defended their titles probably 20 times against Primo/Epico successfully already.

I think a good rule for House Shows would be once they start fighting someone on that tour the next defense count wouldnt up until they had a different house show opponent. Like if they go and fight Primo and Epico 20 nights in a row and its the same match they get 1 defense out of it.
-- Circle gets the Scare! Imagine if Jesus knew kung fu. That's what everyone is dealing with
It doesn't help much that both tag teams wear basically the same exact outfit and generally look similar in addition to not having any displayed personalities whatsoever and being so rarely featured that I don't even know signature moves, finishers, or tag moves.

Okay, so after Punk won the title, he was defending against ADR on house shows, then defended against ADR on Raw, then started defending against Miz at house shows. He defended in the Triple Threat TLC match against ADR and Miz at the TLC PPV. He then defended the title against Miz some more at house shows until the Ziggler title defense on Raw, after which he has been defending against Ziggler at house shows.
After Bryan won the title, his first set of house show defenses was against Show and Henry in Triple Threat cage matches. Then the first defense on SD against Show happened, and ever since then the house show matches have been solo matches against Show, and then there was the defense on SD this week.

Maybe someday I'll go back and figure out the title defenses for all the WWE World Champions throughout history (might be a good project for the 50th anniversary of the WWE Title in 2013), but DO NOT expect me to do it for the secondary Championships. <_<

Punk- ADR House Shows, ADR Raw, Miz house shows, Triple threat, Miz house shows (Since he competed against ADR in the triple threat as well I am counting this as a break in the chain), Ziggler Raw, Ziggler House
Bryan- Show and Henry House shows, SD Defense, Show house shows, SD defense.
If Bryan keeps feuding with Show on the house circuit I won't count a new one until, say, after the Rumble.

I demand it for the Hardcore Title.

Ha, Hardcore Title might actually be easier since all the house show title changes are actually chronicled. It wasn't actually "successfully defended" at house show much during the 24/7 era!

One difference though is that the Show house show title defenses I bolded were cage matches, while the title defenses at THIS weekend's house shows are not.
Does that make a difference?

(And in case anyone's curious as to how Bryan is defending against Show now that cage escape is out of the picture, Barrett and Mahal are running in for the DQ <_<)
(Then Show and Sheamus chase them off and Bryan escapes with the belt)

Yeah that would make a difference. Alternatively you could just count the next house circuit as one after each TV defense. It would pad things slightly (basically every TV defense would net you 2 points) but it might paint a better picture of things.

From: SmartMuffin | #387 imho house shows shouldn't count AT ALL
not even when the title actually changes
Honestly when I made the question/statement I was not accounting for house shows at all, but there are the rare occuences when the title does change hands at them so I can see the case for counting them as well. I think the system I brought up should be pretty close to a standing for seeing how solid a person's actual reign was. Like Cena's initial reign was pretty damn good since IIRC he defended it at every PPV and about once a month on TV as well which was pretty strong considering his competition was mostly Angle.

So, I'm hoping when all is said and done, it's revealed that AJ has been a double-agent this whole time, manipulating events to the benefit of her REAL love interest... Mark Henry.

Jakyl Fun Fact Yesterday, Beth Phoenix passed Kelly Kelly to move her Divas Title reign into 3rd place all-time for that title.
The title has only existed for 3 1/2 years, but it's still notable!
The two reigns ahead of her are the first two reigns, actually. McCool had the title for 155 days, and then Maryse for 216. Beth currently is on Day 106.
