Yep, he has not been sentenced yet and was looking at taking a plea deal, but yeah, that deal woulda sucked for him seriously. If I was looking at 7+ years in prison and all that other stuff, I'd off myself as well.

What I don't get is why people who find children attractive download this stuff or have anything to do with it. I mean it's illegal. Would most guys watch normal porn if it was illegal? I sure wouldn't.

I mean, I guess the argument could be made that women are being........taken advantage of....in the porn industry or something....but watching kids who are obviously being abused? You have to be freaking sick to do that.

Seems strange tbh, if he was convicted unless he had already been held for more then the duration of his sentence or a plea deal was made, house arrest etc, he should not have been free to go anywhere.

Not gonna read up on all of it, but yeah, that doesn't sound normal. Maybe he sang his way out of jail?

This is a restaurant in Olympia WA. I have gone there twice, both times because I received a coupon for $20 off if you buy two dinners.

Now last year, I was not very impressed, the prices where quite high and the sirlion steak (for about $25) was not very good (I make better NY strip steaks at home, let alone rib eyes, for a very small fraction of the cost).

I got 2 meals then though, the steak and fries and a Shrimp and potato dish.

The shrimp and potato diesh was also mid 20's but was quite good, and worth it. I even said to myself I might go back sometime without a coupon and get that again.

So when I did get the coupon I was all set to go. Was gonna bring a friend but they bugged out at the last minute.

So I get there and the menu is now half the size it used to be. They no longer have the shrimp and potato dish, and the steak dish was 29$ or so. They did have a fish and chips dish for about $23, which I got as well.

Neither was very good at all. The steak was tiny, and flavorless, I had to use A1....which is insane. Seriously if you can't cook a steak well enough not to need A1 sauce, you shouldn't be charging about $80 a pound (was a 7 once steak..might have been 6 ounces).

The cod wasn't horrid, but...for $11 at Pints and Quarts at the mall you can get WAY better fish and chips, and 4 much larger pieces as well (also better fries).

The place though is packed, possibly due to having a view of the sound out their window. I just don't get why people go back there though. Way better options for way less, or you can easily bbq your own steaks at home and have them taste way better.

Such a disappointment.

Topicwhat increases your lottery odds?
wolfy42
01/30/18 6:15:16 AM
#32
Btw, I'm pretty sure there have been times when the winnings were larger then the odds, but in every single case, more then one person ended up winning (which means the individual pay out was less).

Which of course is another factor in how to increase your odds of winning, or at least your ratio of winnings to amount spent.

You can increase your odds by purchasing additional tickets, but, the amount you win can also go down based on the number of other tickets purchased by other people.

Therefore, you must both purchase additional tickets in the same lottery with different number combinations AND ensure as few other people do so as possible, or at least as few other people who are not puchasing tickets as a group with you.

So, if the lottery payout was say 1.6 billion (largest to date I believe), and the odds to win it where 1 in 300 million (for powerball), at least in theory if you got 30 million people to all sign a contract sharring the winnings, and each was designated 10 numbers/tickets to purchase (by a computer of course), your group would have a 100% chance of winning the powerball.

Sadly, each individual member of the group would have spent (think it's 1$ per ticket), 10$, and would end up getting back about $50.

Here is where it gets tricky though, if you didn't restrict the # of tickets any individual could purchase as part of the group, and just let anyone but numbers at will, someone could say buy 100k tickets, and as long as the winnings were split by the number of tickets purchased, basically win 400k total.

That only would work with the largest payout in history, and also if ONLY people who are part of the group ended up winning.

You would still do ok as long as there was not more then 2 other non-group member winners (the payout would still be about 500million each vs a 300 million investment).

I find it ...interesting that such a scenerio actually happened, and no even medium sized groups (of fairly wealthy individuals) capitalized on it.

Might be partially due to the way winnings are actually calculated, as you only get 1/2 of the actual total if you take a cash/now option. So the above numbers are wrong, and a 1.6 bill jackpot would actually only be worth 800mill of less as a payout (before taxes).

That still could lead to almost trippling your investment if you and a group covered the entire spread, but, even just 1 other winner (not in your group) would kill most of the profit and the risk of having more then 1 other winner and actually loosing money would probably make it not worth it.

So yeah, even in extreme cases like that, it doesn't really pay to play the lottery.

I just didn't go to school for the entire 4th grade. When asked why at the end of the year, I said I was bored. Since I tested 12+ in reading comprehension and math skills, they moved me forward anyway.

When I started my freshman year of high school, I had been working construction all summer and felt school was a waste of time, so I just skipped tons of days. The principle would give me Sat detentions for that, which I also skipped.

He planned on transferring me to a continuation school named Robertson, but I got a job at a private christian school named Kings Academy as a Janitor and went there instead.

It had a P.A.C.E program that required you to fill out booklets and then pass final tests/exams at the end. I did 4 years of booklets and passed all the tests with a 4.0 by November (when my birthday is) and graduated on my 16th birthday.

Oh and I started school a year late btw, because we were in Vermont (Putney) at the time, and my birthday is in Nov.

Course I totally didn't use the full scholarship I had available to me when I graduated like an idiot, but I thought school was a total waste at that point and just wanted to make money.

Not having parents causes you to do stupid crap like that.

I never used shields and/or heavy armor in my souls games, so BB was a pretty much exact copy of my combat methods (minus any real ranged attacks).

The souls games vary in difficulty though, with 3...arguably, being the easiest one. So it really depends on which game your comparing it to.

DKS3 is easier then BB I'd say.

I think 2 and 1 are....about the same?

None of them are insanely hard even if you don't play defensively.

Jen, take pics of the area now, before any damage occurs from it not being fixed right away. Also email him and forward a copy to yourself (though you could look it up under sent), so you can show that you informed him of the issue right away.

In theory you could have the issue fixed and then hold back the cost from the rent etc (especially if it was causing a health hazard), but it's not worth it.

Best bet honestly is to turn the water off to the sink/dish washer for now, and stay on him about fixing it. If he doesn't for too long (more then a few days), then revisit the situation (possibly threaten to hold back rent until it's fixed etc).

Do it all in a way that is documented in case you need to prove it later.

TopicProfit sharing.
wolfy42
01/20/18 2:21:31 PM
#1
Why isn't this done more? I mean, of course besides greed.

We have a minimum wage in this country, and currently tons of conflict over what that should be, what a living wage is etc. This means we do have the ability to enforce rules on employers.

Profit sharing would solve most of the wage problems in a far better way then just raising the min wage drastically in a short period of time. Having people working at Mc Donalds making more then EMTs seems wrong, even if the EMTs often don't mind.

Profit sharing, even at fast food levels, can accomplish the same effect, increase motivation of employees, and really only take a tiny % of the profits away from a company.

For instance a Mc Donalds that did a program like that (based on each stores profits), could end up giving about $500 extra per month, per employee (possibly more, but that is a conservative estimate).

If the employees normally got around $10 an hour, that is almost a 50% increase in total income (also brings it pretty close to $15 an hour).

The way it works is the expenses to run acompany, pay salaries (including a fair amount for the owner, not to exceed 10x the lowest paid employees pay per hour) and losses are taken out of the gross profit.

You then take 5% of what is left and split it between the employees based on the # of hours they worked. The positions, salaries etc, have no effect on the share of profits.

Now it wouldn't work for all jobs (Gov jobs etc that don't generate a profit for instance), but it would certainly change things in a positive way, without causing any of the problems suddenly jumping min wage can create.

In my area for instance there is currently a huge range of jobs that all make between $11 and $12 an hour. Even skilled positions (people with seniority), in many of those positions are still making the same amount (as just due to the min wage increases, people who worked at a job that made initially $9 an hour and got raises over a decade, didn't just get a new bump in pay).

I'm not saying minimum wage should not be increase, it should actually reflect a base pay required to live in your area (and be primarily calculated on rental costs). I do think using profit sharing would probably actually increase productivity and profits, possibly enough to offset the actual amount paid to employees....and it would be universal no matter what your current pay rate is.

For as long as my wife was not sick and in a hospital bed (so about 13 years) we always slept together, although we didn't always go to bed at the same time.

It is a nice time to chat and relax with your partner though, we usually did go to bed at least 30 minutes before we really wanted to go to sleep. Most of those years we also had a TV in our bedroom, so we would watch the news etc while in bed together.

First bunch of years we also did a ton of other things in the bed lol.....that never stopped all together (till she got sick), but it wasn't a nightly thing after 5-10 years or so.

So yeah, there are many reasons to go to bed with your partner, especially if you both work and don't get to spend too much time together during the day.
