TopicHuffPo: Nikki Haley hints Trump is trying to steal election with his RNC picks

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley hinted Tuesday that Donald Trump is trying to influence this years election results by promoting his former campaign adviser and daughter-in-law for top posts at the Republican National Committee.
The former South Carolina governor, who was U.N. ambassador in the Trump Cabinet, made the suggestion a day after Trump endorsed his onetime campaign adviser as the next chair of the RNC and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as co-chair.
Think about whats happening right now, Haley said at a campaign event in her hometown of Bamberg, South Carolina. Is that how youre going to try and take an election?
Lara Trump, whos married to Eric Trump, and Whatley are supporters of the former presidents baseless conspiracy theory that the 2020 election was stolen from him.
Longtime RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel is reportedly stepping down under pressure from Trump, whos publicly said he wants a change in party leadership. But when reached for comment last week, an RNC spokesperson said: Nothing has changed. This will be decided after South Carolina.
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung called out Haleys comments in a statement to NBC News.
Nikki Braindead Birdbrain Haley reeks of desperation as its clear she knows she has no shot, and is now auditioning for a cable news contract when her 15 minutes are over, Cheung said. But not before she can squeeze every last dollar out of her Democrat benefactors.
Some historically Democratic donors have been giving money to Haleys campaign in an effort to keep Trump out of the White House. However, Trump has maintained his strong lead over Haley, polling nearly 76% to her 17%. He even has a commanding lead over her in her home state of South Carolina, which will hold its GOP primary on Feb. 24.
Haley has expressed frustration with Republican leadership, accusing the party of having a clear bias toward Trump. Last week she called the Nevada caucus a scam that the Republicans rigged for Trump, after the party refused to participate in the state-sanctioned primary and instead held a separate caucus, which was the only contest that awarded delegates. Haley chose to participate in the states primary while Trump stuck to the caucus, which required a $55,000 entrance fee.

A functional society wouldn't need to be told to not have this blatant of a conflict of interest at such a high position, but I guess we're no longer a functional society.

Anybody with PTSD that can get triggered by a falling acorn really shouldn't be in a career where he has a f***ing gun. At best he should have been assigned desk work if this is the case.
Sometimes you don't know what your triggers are until after you've already been triggered by them.

And even so, sometimes it just takes the right combination of situational and environmental concerns to trigger your PTSD.

Like some vets are okay with fireworks, knowing that they're going to happen. Some are not. However, if one went off randomly and without any expectation of it being a possibility then it could trigger them into an episode, even if they're otherwise okay with fireworks.

Regardless, this dude was all kinds of fucked up and wrong

While I can't imagine it'd have that profound of an impact as to make you (irrationally or additionally) angry, if you're taking it the same time as the wellbutrin then maybe consider taking them a few hours apart.

TopicRon Johnson (R-WI) says Putin will not lose war; votes against Ukraine aid
wackyteen

https://www.newsweek.com/ron-johnson-ukraine-aid-putin-not-lose-war-1869386

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson has elaborated on his decision to go against a measure to allow the House of Representatives to vote for further aid to Ukraine, saying that Russia's leader Vladimir Putin "will not lose the war."
On Monday night, a bipartisan coalition of senators approved motions to push forward a package of further aid to countries including Ukraine and Israel. Senators voted in a majority to end dilatory debate on the $95 billion package, setting up a final vote for early Tuesday morning to send it to the House. Johnson, a Republican, was among a large group of GOP senators who voted against it.
Speaking on conservative news network Real America's Voice, Johnson said that, while Putin was "a war criminal", some of the things the Russian president said in his interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, that aired last week, were right.
"Our policy should be focused on how do we bring Vladimir Putin to the table," Johnson said.
"We're cutting off our nose to spite our face with some of these sanctions," he added, saying that it was making American dollars less important as Russia starts to trade in other currencies.
Johnson said: "A lot of the points that Vladimir Putin made are accurate. They're obvious, and so many of our people here in Washington D.C. are just ignoring that, making people believe like Ukraine can win. Putin won't lose. Putin will not lose. He's not going to lose."
Johnson added that people needed to accept this reality to deal with the war and bring it to a close.
Newsweek contacted representatives for Johnson by email for comment.
The package politicians are deliberating would allocate $60 billion in aid to Ukraine's military operation, $14 billion to Israel and US military operations in the region and more than $8 billion to US partners in the Indo-Pacific region, including Taiwan. It also allocates nearly $10 billion for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, Israel and Gaza.
Republicans have long argued that any additional aid to Ukraine should be tied to additional border security funding, amid soaring encounters on the southern border.

In a statement, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson criticized the deal, and said it lacked border security provisions. "House Republicans were crystal clear from the very beginning of discussions that any so-called national security supplemental legislation must recognize that national security begins at our own border," he said.
He added: "America deserves better than the Senate's status quo."
On Monday, Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, said the weekend votes demonstrated "beyond doubt that there's strong support" for advancing the foreign aid package.
Schumer said: "These are the enormously high stakes of the supplemental package: our security, our values, our democracy. It is a down payment for the survival of western democracy and the survival of American values."
He added: "The entire world is going to remember what the Senate does in the next few days. Nothingnothingwould make Putin happier right now than to see Congress waver in its support for Ukraine; nothing would help him more on the battlefield."
During his interview with Carlson, which represented the first time the Russian leader was interviewed by Western media since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Putin suggested that Russia was open to peace talks with Ukraine, but claimed that the United States was getting in the way.

40 years ago, this would be tantamount to treason

I watched it again last night. Still holds up well.

It is definitely targeted at a more tween/teen (not kids necessarily) demographic in some of its art style and humor, but it all serves a purpose of conveying the life and experiences of a teenage girl going through a metaphor for puberty/her period.

Not every joke lands the best necessarily, but it definitely hits the mark on telling the story it wants to while capturing the setting and characters ages.

Do you guys think any of Cars 3/Incredibles 2/Toy Story 4 are worth seeing?

I liked Toy Story 4 more than the general consensus, I think. Its divisive, to say the least, though. Incredibles 2 was okay, but I think the reception has turned more negative over the years. Cars 3 is better than Cars 2 but that's like saying bread and cheese is better than just bread.

I'd say if you're going to watch anything, watch Coco at least. I'd also recommend Turning Red, Luca and Elemental.
