So if your state passed laws to ban guns and confiscate them from citizens, you'd be ok with that as well since it's local government violating your rights. Correct?

Leaving aside the insult to people in the military, the training to "use" said weapons isn't just for how they function. It's also rules of engagement, appropriate use of force, etc...
But police don't concern themselves with that crap anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter.

No, the best method for minimizing damage is to call for help and to run.

Like you said, this is about consistent bullying. Running away from a fight will just make your life worse from then on as the bully's emboldened and new bullies enticed to join in tormenting you.
Bullies are cowards. They prey on apparent weakness. If you fight back fiercely and hurt one of them, he's going to look for someone easier to pick on.
I ended up fighting bullies several times in school after putting up w/ them for months or even years and hoping it'd get better. Every single time, fighting back instantly made things better.
Maybe it depends on the bully. Not all of them are from broken homes and beaten like you seem to think. Some are pampered little shits used to getting what they want and lording over other kids.

The answer is yes and I voted for it, but I don't like the wording of the option. It is absolutely NOT the victim's fault that he or she is bullied, it's the bully's. Just because fighting back ends it doesn't mean not fighting the bully causes it.
If someone tries to mug you and you pull a gun and shoot them, you ended the mugging. That doesn't mean people who don't walk around armed cause muggings.

And yes, if someone's a bully and trying to hurt you, fuck "honor." Do whatever you have to to survive and minimize the damage *you* take. If you're going to fight, commit to it. Doesn't matter if it's "dirty," just go all out on his ass. The goal isn't even to hurt him really badly (though that may well be the means to the end you seek), it's to make him afraid to mess with you ever again. Beat the shit out of him, show no mercy, require others to pull you away, let him think you're crazy (heck, above all else, get across the message that you're crazy to him). Instill fear. That's the only way to make it stop.

Evil Zone was a fighting game, would've gone in this poll. It was great. Basically every character was a parody of an anime archetype and their story modes were presented as episodes of a TV program. They got over the top attacks (my favorite was the power ranger parody calling in a satellite strike) and cheesy lines with Hong Kong Dubbing (ie, lip movement doesn't match the English vocals at all)... just awesome.
And there was only one attack button. Some complained about it, I thought it was nice, never liked overly complex fighting game inputs. Depending on distance from the foe, directional button you use with the attack button, whether you tap or hold it, etc... you did different attacks, such that each character probably had 20 unique attacks or so.

I recall not long ago Zeus stated he considers anyone who does acts the nazis did, specifically in that case book burning, to be nazis. I pointed out that book burning was done by many dictators in history, at least as far back as ancient China, so it was silly to label someone a nazi based just on one shared characteristic like that, but he persisted.
And now Zeus goes on diatribes when people refer to neo-nazis as nazis. "They not the same thing, guys! Come on!"

It's kind of funny, but mostly sad.

On-topic, I recall reading that Devon came out as gay and shockingly....his nazi (yeah Zeus, they're nazis, get over it) buddies weren't too supportive of it, and that's what caused the rift that led to him turning on them.
In any case, the story involves dead nazis and a thwarted plot to murder innocent people. It's so rare to hear positive stories in the news.

Considering China has a history of treating its foot soldiers as cannon fodder ("We have reserves"), it sounds to me like masturbating is doing those young lads a favor.

Also, the article's sending mixed messages.
The report claimed 8 per cent of male candidates suffered from enlarged testicular veins. “This is related to sitting too long on computer games, excessive masturbation and too little physical activity,” it said.

In one breath, they're saying too much masturbation, but in the next they're saying the recruits aren't getting enough physical activity. Which is it, China? Do they need to ramp up the masturbation or scale it back?

Blightzkrieg posted...

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (for PS3): I loved Red Alert Retalliation on PS1 and mostly enjoyed RA2 on computer. Heard about the DRM on the computer version of RA3 so I got the console version, and....my god. That damn "radial menu" is so awful, borderline unplayable! How is it that on PS1 they made the controls fluid but modern day they can't?! (real answer: Westwood Studios is no more :( ) And units are all hard-counters to one specific other unit type, but you can't deftly assign unit hotkeys like on a computer, so all you can do is cluster different stuff together and hope for the best. How did they mess things up so badly?

The radial menu was actually pretty innovative for its time.

It was first introduced in Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath for the Xbox 360 and its control scheme has been the standard for console RTS games ever since which includes games such as Halo Wars and its sequel.

I like the console controls and I've been a fan of RTS games since I played Red Alert 1 on PC as a kid.

I'm not saying you're wrong, everyone has their own tastes in videogames.
I just wanted to say my two cents.

I went from PS1 for the first RA to PC for the 2nd, and only really play the RA branch of C&C much, so it was my first experience w/ the radial menu. And I really did find it terrible. Couldn't keep playing it was so bad, wish there was an option to move around a mouse cursor w/ the stick and have sidebars like in the old games. Not as precise as using a mouse, but it worked fine.
Seriously, if you're going to have a radial menu, why in the fuck would you force the player to keep holding down the R2 button, lest they let go of the pressure for a moment and then get kicked out of the whole menu? Why not be a toggle on/off with one press each?
And then, as you're trying to lean the stick in a direction towards a specific thing on the circle...and then trying again as you go to the thing to the side of it instead....why must you hold down on that direction to reach said item and keep holding until you select it or else be shunted back to "center"?!
If it's going to be a circular menu, just let me rotate the stick around and move the selector accordingly through each option. If I stop rotating, just leave it on the thing it was on. Why is that so hard?!
The fucking radial menu felt like it was designed to torment the player. Not even in skyward sword did I feel like I was fighting against the game's own controls so much. That's just not acceptable to me.

I'm glad someone enjoyed it, not saying you're wrong either. But holy shit did I hate it!
Not even getting into how clumsy and irritating the unit selection and giving commands was, this has already become a rant. But maybe next time...they should consider using different buttons for selecting units and action commands. Just maybe...

Walls, castles, towers, and only ever play on Black Forest!
Swipe all the stone mines I can early on so I can build my fortress and the enemies have to buy their stone!
And keeping a cavalry for the sole reason of intercepting trebuchets before they can reach me.
Good times.

I really don't think it was too obscene. I managed to defeat walled-in computers with few losses with a small/moderate invasion force usually (20-40 guys plus 4-6 trebuchets or canons) after they had up to an hour to build regularly. *shrug*
Not sure how it went in PvP, didn't really do that at all. But I really doubt collecting resources and building up walls and castles for 20 min before even considering attacking works much better in AoE II PvP than it does any other RTS PvP.
I was just obsessive-compulsive / elitist about the "value" of my soldiers compared to the enemy's and wanted to really run up that ratio.

Genghis Khan is my favorite historical figure.
Koei's games got me interested in Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Chinese history and the Sengoku era of Japan. Especially Sengoku era Japan and Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
Further, thanks to Urusei Yatsura and other anime, I've learned about a lot of Japanese myths and creatures.
Also in regards to China, the 36 Stratagems, Art of War, The Water Margin (thanks, Suikoden), and other works.
India's got some crazy-awesome myths and weaponry (whip-swords? check (Urumi). chakrams? yup. mounting tusk-blades and even god damned canons onto Elephants? Of-fucking-course!)
There was a great historical fiction drama a few years ago, Great Queen Seondeok about the titular first female ruler of the Silla empire of Korea in the 600's that got me pretty interested in Korean history, too.
Among other things.

And I really like learning about martial arts from all over, including many Asian countries. I miss Human Weapon so much...

*sigh*

Hang on and let me go find a fake story that conservatives flipped out over.

Oh, here's one:

Now can we agree this sort of thing is not the purview of a single political ideology?

Or how about Jade Helm?

Or TC could stop being a coward and reply to my prior statement:

Turns out, the video was deceptively edited and titled, and Trump actually spent some time greeting the kid on the wheelchair.

What's wrong with JK Rowling? Or liberals in general. They seem a bit off lately.

I don't know. What's wrong with actual conservative politicians pushing to de-fund ACORN or Planned Parenthood based on videos by James O'Keefe even after they're proven to be highly edited and completely misleading and wrong?
I'm no fan of Rowling, but what utter hypocrisy to cry about some random non-politician's reaction BEFORE it's revealed a video is a fake but to be cool with actual politicians continuing to push actual legislation AFTER a video's shown to be fake!
