Pretty blatant that they're going to make Light much more sympathetic / (emo-) "heroic" than even the anime, which already treated him far too nicely.* The fact that he doesn't even try writing in the notebook until Ryuk tells him to try is enough of a tip-off. In the anime, he goes into it w/ gusto before even meeting Ryuk, and Ryuk is surprised at how much he's already done. And that's not a spoiler, it's from the very first episode. It gives a very early indication of Light's burgeoning evil. And this movie completely removed that. Also, assuming the black guy is L, they seem to have made him far more preachy and annoying, probably a clear-cut antagonist in this iteration. *End of anime/manga spoilers: |

But if there were a do-over, I'd vote for Hillary just to run up her vote total and stick it to Trump, who campaigned as at least somewhat moderate (won't cut the safety net; thrice-married and spoke out in support of Planned Parenthood; etc...) but has surrounded himself with the most far-right and religious people of any modern president and taken a hacksaw to environmental policy while heartily supporting any crazy Ayn Randian hellscape policies Paul Ryan pushes (except for the rare moment's he's caught in private mentioning how "mean" they are, before going out and supporting them again anyway). I'd MUCH rather have Bernie as the nominee though. Then the result would actually be different. |

It'd be pretty incredible to try and pretend he had no idea what was going on, and he's the one who vetted Michael Flynn, who's turned out to be amazingly, hilariously compromised. Trump should not be impeached until they have the case against Pence as well. And ideally not until after the 2018 elections. Democrats need to be smart about this and not try to rush it...possibly even slowing the process down when Republicans decide to cut their losses and try to rush it. Zeus posted... Because that's really not how the system works. You're basically proposing getting rid of allowing the public to vote on the president, instead allowing congress and the senate to choose whoever they want by dismissing presidents without actual cause. In general, correct. But aside from the evangelical voters, NO ONE voting for Trump last year was voting that way because they wanted Pence in the White House. |
