Spyro trilogy is all great but 1 is clearly the standout to me.

While I never hated the minigames I find the uninterrupted stream of gameplay in 1 is perfect.

Although that would make the other problem feel worse which is the progression is kinda slow. We're 5 years into this anime now and they're still first years at UA. I think that's why everyone always ask about a potential timeskip.

Yeah I feel like it was following in the footsteps of the Big 3, heading for a drawn out megaseries length. But now what's in is being fast which puts it in an awkward position. Who really wants to watch the students just fight each other in low stakes for an entire cour? (a lot of people ik but not ALOT a lot)

I hear JJK is heading to the last arc too.

Author said like two more years, which puts it at about halfway over. This upcoming arc is likely not the last one.

Shaman King is actually one of the most ambitious shonens to come out of JUMP, but it kind of bites off a lot more than it can chew and the ending is kinda bad for it. But the ride is is pretty great!

Oh dang I forgot Shaman King was a thing next season.

I'd be so hyped if I knew it was going to be a good adaptation of the whole manga, but I have my doubts. It just doesn't seem like the most relevant property to get multiple good seasons for a proper conclusion.

Walter didn't get the full appreciation from his family for what he provided

Oh and thinking about this, I agree. It felt kinda hamfisted when his son found out and was like "you liar omg!" Like I know from a story perspective I'm arguing that Walt didn't do it for the best reasons, but no one else really knew that. If I found out my dad was a big time drug dealer who got our family tons of money my reaction would not be instant condemnation.

Drugs would have poured in from Mexico with or without his involvement.

Your sense of morality is very interesting. It seems very divorced from intention and individuality and boils down to just what effect you have on the world? Like if you know other evil people exist you're suddenly not evil anymore because well, other people are doing it! (based just on this one line of course)

Light was never going to end up like Kim Jong Un until L came for his life

This has no basis. Light's characterization from the start was devaluing all human life. He killed the first dude with the truck just because he was kind of a tropey asshole who was hitting on a girl. He didn't care about his family at all. He LOATHED law enforcement for doing their job and took great pleasure in killing Naomi and Raye Penbar. I don't think it was necessary for him to call himself the god of the new world lmao. Power was his motivation. He was an A class student with nothing bad going on but the first thing he does is look at his classmates and go "ugh, these people suck"

Walter got fucked over by the US healthcare system and did it to support his family

You have to pay more attention to subtext. His primary motivation was he was going to die in a year and he felt pathetic all his life. "I did it for me" is literally what he says at the end. Of course he loved his family and I think the show treated him like he was a bigge villain than he was, but he was not just a guy doing it for his family.

I'll give you Lelouch because bad writing made things happen because oopsie poopsie. Wouldn't it be funny if I said you should kill everyone in Japan??? HIlarious!

Nah Eva has a special brand of ending. It's not your typical bad ending.

Like I don't even think of the original series or End as having bad endings myself, but they were very very weird in how they were presented and I completely understand the controvery. (Although I'd be far less kind about the "animation" for the OG series today. Back then I was just enthralled by my first exposure to existential philosophy.)

I mean, Sunshine could have placed more stars in its levels for you yo just come across like 64 had. Blue Coins by large was there instead of these.

I'm assuming all five missing stars were blue coins?

Yeah just blue coins at the end. I had to look up two of the secret shines that involved spraying random shit too like the SUN.

The way Sunshine works I don't think they really wanted you to stumble upon Shines unless they were hidden obnoxiously like those two. There's a very strict Episode structure it adheres to.

Leonhart4 posted...
Also low key one of the worst parts of Sunshine that I never see talked about is the cutscenes are super cringey. I don't know if it's considered "so bad it's good" by people, but I always thought the story was pretty embarrassing.

Back in 2002 cutscenes were just something you didn't even think about adding into your game, but now it feels very un-Mario to have these long set ups with talking characters. The volume balance is wack, the pacing of the cutscenes feels off, and it doesn't feel entirely humorous, like you're supposed to be taking what's happening somewhat seriously.

There's really not many though, just the beginning, Pinna Park, and the ending.
