It got to the point where I changed his eye colour to the dead, black eyes because they seemed like the most fitting.

Hey at least this is still an improvement over SM where the character just smiles non-stop.

Yeah, I can't think of a single other Nintendo-published Switch game that looks worse than Sword and Shield. Even Pokemon Let's Go looked better, and that definitely wasn't the prettiest girl at the dance either.

It still has the edge over Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Online implementation is very poor. Back half of the main game is horribly rushed with clear cut content and a nonsensical climax that even puts X/Y to shame. I also feel like too much effort was spent on the Wild Area, and the region as a whole suffered for it.

But the game for the most part is still fun. Raids were great for awhile, but got old. The new Pokemon were mostly great, and I still enjoyed my time with them. It's just disappointing the game couldn't be more than it is.

I'm not a National Dex complainer, btw. I always only ever use new Pokemon during my playthroughs and don't get into competitive, so missing half the dex really doesn't effect me at all. But it's because I don't care about competitive multiplayer that the lack of strong maingame is such a problem for me. I do however think that refusing to patch in the cut Pokemon post-release is still really dumb though.

I struggle to think of Overclocked as a proper remake instead of just an enhanced port. Either way I disagree, though. 1 absolutely has better atmosphere, but 2 has better everything else imo. Granted I didn't play the 3DS version, so maybe gameplay was enhanced enough to overpass? But even then Record Breaker included the brand new scenario instead of just 8th days, so I'd still probably rank it ahead.

Yeah I fucked up and was looking at the Japanese release date while scrubbing over the list. Pokemon got enough nominations to lock itself in. Doc is updated.

It's doubtful given the other SMT snubs, but can you double check SMT: Strange Journey too? It's also a 2009 Japanese/2010 NA release.

And seems I was the only person to nominate 7 of the games on my list, but that includes Devil Survivor 2 and Shin Megami Tensei 4/A so wow you all are the worst.

I was most interested in Blue Lions, but I purposely chose to save them for a NG+ when I'd have all the free time (little did I know there was plenty of time to do everything on a first playthrough anyway). So I started with Golden Deer, and then I put so much time into it that I never did a second route. But luckily GD seems like the best one if you only care to do one route, so I'm still pleased with my choice.

I would definitely go for Witcher 3 on ps4 because from what I have heard the port isnt all that great and you can get the complete version on ps4 cheaper than the base game on switch as well.

You're still right about price, but the base game on Switch IS the complete edition.

The Cat Quests and Untitled Goose Game are short games that are really charming. The former are RPGs.

Since she likes both RPGs and puzzle games, maybe look into Sushi Striker too. There's a demo on the Switch eShop (I recommend playing handheld with a stylus).
