Its the way to go nowadays after doing a few years of clinical work. Hospitalists has not gotten a raise in the last 10 years with shitty bonus payouts and he no longer has any risk from malpractice lawsuits from unreasonable patients. Also there are recent reimbursement cuts from medicare so owning a private practice is no longer worth the upfront investment. Its also less stressful. He made the right career choice.

other options are medical liasions for big pharm and they pay those with MD degrees, especially with board certification and years of clinical experience a shitload of money.

Fresh out of med school, one of the first attending I worked with did a thing that didn't really make sense until much later.

We had a really, really bad case. Made worse by a patient parent being intentionally deceptive and it resulted in his infant dying horrifically and needlessly.

Afterward he gave me a post-it note for my notebook. He wrote on it, "nightingaleMD's soul."

Then he tore off a small piece and gave me the rest. He told me every time something like this happens he's going to take another piece from me until I have "nothing left."

It was dark humor but it had a point.

I had this bug. Then when I fast traveled, the road in New Atlantis was very broken. I tried multiple times to swap the ship but it was always the same thing. Ultimately, I gave up, went somewhere else, and swapped the ship. This is the exact reason why I make a billion saves.

Unfortunately I paid no attention to it until I realized its significant.

This is true. Most of my mods are quality of life and UI mods that makes playing the vanilla at least less cumbersome and frustrating.

So now in new atlantis, the kiosk box is gone and there are holes in the starport. Losing the kiosk is not that bad I guess, but it sucks not being able to sell my shit once I exit my ship.

Just at the Den? I took a captured ship back to New Atlantis to register and it broke my original ship and made almost all of it invisible. Never did it again after that.

Still had the pet rock glitch when I eventually stopped playing too.

Yeah I won't deny it, most of my hours playing was pirating crimson ships and stealing/selling them. I am 80 hours into the game and I still didn't get through 25% of the main quest yet.

See if there's a way to transfer your save to PC, fix the bug, at 5fps if you have to, then transfer back.

I am playing on PC. I got my ship back without even knowing but the city is permanently broken unless I beat the game to get to NG+. Starting NG+ seems to fix it. And the weird teleport glitch did happen to me but I paid no attention to it and just went on my way, so I don't have an older save file to load to.

I now have the major bug where new atlantis city is broken because I stole a ship and swapped it out at the den.

The healthcare industry is insanely overworked and treated like shit in... pretty much every developed country. There's a reason many nurses are jumping ship, and that's just in Australia. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like in parts of the US.

It's bad here, but you can't deny that the RN pay is decent with room to grow.

However on the other end, physicians haven't gotten a raise in over 10 years, and our workload has increased substantially and is a lot more risker compared to 10 years ago. There is no room to grow as an MD unless you invest 3+ years into doing fellowship, and taking a paycut while doing so.

Just saying, a travel RN can potentially make more than MDs and they have high union/political power and can get raises every year or so.

MDs/DOs on the other hand gets slapped by administration everyday for even asking a 1 cent raise.

It is a great time to be an RN. No risks involved if you don't do stupid shit like give the wrong meds etc.

Also, RN has a lot of room for growth to become administration and have an alphabet of letters after their name and admins love that shit.

Coming from personal experience. I do not recommend anyone going to medical school and should do nursing school instead.
