Returns was pretty grim and depressing (and one shot in particular gave me nightmares as a kid), but I'd still put it as the best of the three. Forever is really dragged down by Tommy Lee Jones playing Jack Nicholson's Joker playing Two-Face, and tbh the rest of the movie is kinda forgettable. But it still edges out Batman and Robin.

This is pretty much my take on it. I've never liked Returns all that much, but grim and dark still works better than neon and campy.

Much as I hate to say it, I'm of the opinion that none of those movies (including the 89 Batman) aged particularly well.

No. I grew up believing it was bad. A lot of my friends' parents (and eventually many of those friends themselves) smoked, and the smell of it only reinforced in my mind that it was not something I wanted to do. I've never seen the appeal, but I guess it's one of those things you have to try in order to understand it.

I would prefer this. Bane kills Boba like the punk loser he is (and always had been) and then bounces and the next season explores the Galactic underworld from the perspective of one of the galaxy's most feared hitman/bounty hunter.

A Star Wars series from the perspective of a bad guy and a non-human seems like a good idea to me.

My alternate ending would have involved one tiny change, resulting in the next season being called The Book of Cad Bane.

Part of it, yeah. Boba is also sickeningly noble and good, and it just doesn't jive or work. Claiming the Tuskans changed him just isn't enough, as the series never shows any other side of him. Even when he briefly escaped in episode 1, he tried helping the other captive. So there is no character development at all.

When Vader told him "No disintegrations," he was being ironic because he knew Fett was such a noble hero that he was the last person who needed to be told that.

I think we needed a season or two where he transitioned from most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy to heroic defender of the people. Or they could have left him as a bad guy, or at least relatively neutral. Good guy Fett is dull.

Cad Bane was cool but he looked kinda off. I feel his skin needs to be a darker blue.

At first I almost thought he was white. I don't remember what his teeth looked like on The Clone Wars, but they seemed a bit too big here. Still, it was exciting to see him--as soon as they showed that figure approaching in the distance, I was hoping it was Cad Bane.

I still think it's a cruel ultimatum. You can choose your friend who protected you and clearly loves you, but then I won't train you. It's especially cruel to present those options to a child.

Oh, and as someone who doesn't know shit about Star Wars, I find it really fucking bizarre that Ahsoka and Luke are both continuing the "no earthly attachments" teachings. I always figured the idea presented in the prequels was that the Jedi were fucked up for doing that and it ultimately led to their downfall because they forbid Anakin from having personal attachments, meaning his mom gets murdered by Tuskens, Padme dies from big sad, and his kids are stillborn. That all ultimately ends up with him joining Palpatine and doing the Order 66 thing. Then the OT even has Luke and Vader win the day because their attachment to each other ultimately ends up defeating the Emperor. But now they're just...doing that again? That's dumb as fuck.

I was thinking something similar. Luke is supposed to be starting this new generation of Jedi, and he's just going to repeat the stupid mistakes of the past. This was by far my favorite episode so far, but it ended on a really bad note.
