I wanted to say True Black and Ideal White since the big story theme is truth vs ideals, but "Ideal White" seems like it'd be Twitter meltdown fodder lol.

The problem is not ilca, ilca could produce games with higher quality than bdsp if they wanted too but i'm pretty sure pokemon company or gf has iron grip to the development of the remake. The faithful remake bullshit was probaly pc and gf idea to stiffle creativity and new ideas that ilca has for the remake. They could at least add back megas form and platinum's battle frontier for the post game. What's really the point of catching all those extra underground pokemon +legendaries if we couldnt test them to the limit in the game.

I'd rather they just do another sequel and then continue that as the trend when revisiting regions going forward. Especially since odds are low IMO of the superior black 2 and white 2 also getting remakes.

Or it could get pokemon legends gameplay and be a real remake.

i think game freak just didn't trust ilca to take any creative risks since ilca isn't a proven developer. and game freak didn't have the time to help out much other than sending masuda to oversee. so they said "just make a copy of dp" and left it at that

Whats surprise me is how insignicant the remakes felt compared to legends. The game was revealed the same time as pokemon legends arceus. Released almost close to one another. The jump from swsh to chibi styles felt awkward. No mention about the galar region like previous remake did. In fire red we've got celio event that connect us with Hoenn Region. In hgss, there sinjoh ruin that implies johto and sinnoh connection. In oras there's small lumiose tower at center of petalburgh town. It felt like gen 4 remake just happened to promote legends arceus so they outsource the remake and calling it faithful bullshit remake.
