Neat. Might sound weird to say, but I never knew how small Greenland was until just now by playing around on that site. On maps, it always appears absolutely gigantic, but its cause by it being stretched out due to the nature of maps as you approach the poles. That site takes the curvature into consideration when dragging stuff around, and Greenland is far smaller than Id previously thought it to be.
It might be a lot smaller than it appears on most maps due to curvature, but it's still pretty big. Take the southern point of Greenland and place it on the southern point of Texas and Greenland still reaches Canada and covers nearly every Great Plains state. That's a big island.

Yes. COVID is a bioweapon designed by China. It was unleashed by the government of China in conjunction with companies like Pfizer and Microsoft so that they could unleash their own bioweapon on the world in the form of COVID vaccines to control peoples thoughts and turn them into socialists and atheists.

It all makes sense when you think about it. You know, if real life was a fucking Bond movie.

I know their deaths and hospitalizations have remained fairly low despite the recent surge, but still going from 2,000 cases a day to 20,000 cases a day in 5 weeks despite one of the world's highest vaccination rates is probably a good reason to not go full Texas and start pretending the pandemic is over, especially given how frequently this virus seems to mutate into new variants and each one seems more resistant to vaccines than the last. They're just begging for some UK Variant v2 to rise up and be even more deadly and vaccine resistant than Delta.

It's like when a celebrity accidentally says the N-word or the F-word on a Twitch stream or something and people defend them with "They're not really racist/homophobic, it just slipped out". Why did it slip out? Most likely because it's something they at least think, if not say, regularly.

Same here with Omar. Once is bad enough but it happens so often with her that it's pretty likely she does in fact have a level of disdain for Jewish people in general, not simply an opposition to Israeli foreign policy.

Of course not, toilets and showers are essential parts of modern society. Heating and air conditioning should be too. Yes. A game with less goals scored is more exciting because they feel bigger and more important. One goal can be the difference between and win and a loss so every attempt is exciting. Basketball on the other hand points are scored so frequently that they feel pointless. There's no urgency or excitement until the last 10 minutes or so unless it's a complete blowout, which also isn't fun to watch.

Maybe some sort of save import like Dragon Age Inquisition had that changes the odd thing. But even then things like the Krogan and Quarians will be tough to work around without making it seem like Shepard's decisions didn't matter long term.
I mean these people couldn't make things like saving or killing the Rachni Queen in ME1 make a difference aside from an email and numbers on a pause screen. There's no way they could design an entire game that would be drastically different based on things like whether the Genophage was cured or not, how the Quarian-Geth War ended, and of course whether Sheperd chose Destroy, Control or Synthesis. They're going to have to make a hard decision on what choices and decisions in the trilogy were canon to base this game around.

TopicWhy did the Empire only build one Death Star at a time?
geno_16
04/30/21 10:44:20 PM
#39
Theoretically they were building more than one at once. The first Death Star was seen under construction at the end of Episode 3. It was only made fully operational during the events of Episode 4 (or I guess Rogue One now but either way) that means it took 18 years to complete. Thus the second Death Star must have been under construction long before Episode 4 since Episode 6 was only 3 years later and there's no way they completed over 50% of the structure, as well as fully operational weapons systems, in only 3 years when the first took 18 total, especially since the second was bigger.

Also given that it takes 18 years to fully complete a Death Star, it's unlikely that building more than two or three at a time is feasible.

In Return of the Jedi when Luke asks Obi-Wan what Yoda meant when he said "There is another", Obi-Wan replies that Yoda was referring to "your twin sister".

sLaCkEr408___RJ posted...
Some people have better memory. That's how I interpreted it in the OT. Luke simply couldn't remember.
In the same scene Obi-Wan also tells Luke that he and Leia were split up when they were born, so I think it was supposed to be interpreted that Leia was left with her mother while Luke was given to Owen and Beru, but then their mother died young and Leia was adopted by the Organas.

But of course, like many things, the prequels just ignored that and had Padme die immediately, so there was no way Leia could remember her mother at all.

He's a complete asshole but I'm kinda sus about this being considered fraud legally

So I did a quick google search and it seems that Japan does in fact have "breach of trust" laws that cover coercing people to offer gifts under false pretenses. It seems like they primarily exist to stop businessmen from pretending they're interested in signing a deal with another businessman, getting gifts and free meals from them during negotiations, then pulling out because they never had any intention to sign a deal and were just using them for said gifts and free meals.

Unfortunately for this guy it's not worded specifically to regard business dealings, so since he coerced these women to give him gifts under the pretense of being in a serious relationship he had no intention to commit to, it could be construed as violating this law.
