How would it not be a franchise? It spawned 5 movies and 2 TV series as well as a cartoon series and an anime movie. It's way more of a franchise than nearly everything else posted in this topic.

It also qualifies because all of it after the original film ranged from mediocre to "one of the worst things ever put on film".

As someone who drinks primarily Vodka as their liquor of choice, Grey Goose is absolute garbage considering it's price. Buy...literally anything else, but particularly Luksusowa, Sobieski or (if still available in your area) Russian Standard. All cheaper and just as good, if not better, than Grey Goose.

Svedka is an acceptable mixer, but god help you if you're planning to drink it straight. I hope you have a really cold freezer and some really nice pickles on hand as chasers.

I highly doubt DC would just cease to exist. If Warner/Discovery doesn't want anything to do with it they wouldn't just shut it down but keep the rights so it makes them no money, they'll sell it to someone. And whoever buys it (let's be honest, probably Disney) will likely continue churning out content.

The PS5 is still completely unavailable everywhere and if I do manage to find one they want me to pay $649.

You can access shortcuts all next to each other in Rogueport Sewers by that point. I think there's only one area you need to go to that it doesn't cover (Glitzville?).

It's still slow. It's still boring. It still does nothing to enhance the game.

General White and Chapter 4 are easily the two worst parts of TTYD.

When I want the room to spin on a Saturday night I usually do 5 shots. That's 7.5 ounces.

Water Temple has 6 keys and you only need 4 to beat it. And no, I'm not counting any kind of glitches or anything. You can literally circumvent 2 keys in a casual setting. The most advanced "trick" you need to do is save warping.

The show is literally judged by a Canadian, a Brit, a German and a Colombian. If the judged don't have to be American's why should the contestants?

I mean most countries with compulsory military service have much lower violent crime rates than the US.

Switzerland for example, is a right-wing 2A lover's go to for "well this country has lots of guns and low gun crime, clearly guns aren't the problem", ignoring the fact that a part of that is because Switzerland has compulsory military service.

That said, the US military is a different beast and there aren't exactly a lot of positive stories coming out of the US military service, so it would likely need a total overhaul to make this work, which it won't get.

In the two companies I've worked for that had both salaried and hourly workers, they abused the shit out of salaried workers by making them come in early and/or work late for no extra pay. Like many of them ended up with 50+ hour weeks regularly. Fuck that.

When I saw that post I assumed the guy on twitter made up that line, making a comparison to how Bush's invasion of Iraq was not unlike Putin's invasion of Ukraine and Bush really isn't one to talk on this subject.

Unless you are a direct superior (or a direct superior of a direct superior, etc.) while you are on a ship you follow the captain's orders regardless of if you outrank them. With Vader and Tarkin it is much the same as if the vice-president was on a navel vessel: the vice-president is the "higher" rank due to being just below the president, or the highest military rank in the US, but is not a direct superior to the captain of the ship and thus differs authority.

Except in ESB Vader clearly overrules Admiral Ozzel and Captain Piett while they tremble in fear of him despite one being captain of the ship and the other being in command of the whole fleet. Then in RotJ he does the same thing to Commander Jerjerrod aboard the Death Star II.

The best answer is that Vader holds no official rank in the Imperial military, but as the Emperor's apprentice he essentially represents the Emperor in the Emperor's absence and thus commands the same authority and respect that the Emperor would, and any officers that he chooses to listen too or defer judgement too, like Tarkin, is out of a mutual respect or friendship not any arbitrary rank.

I don't think the players should be paid to play, but I also don't think that the schools should be making the huge amounts of money that they make on them either.

College sports should not be nationally televised super events in massive stadiums with huge marketing campaigns and billion dollar corporate sponsorships behind them and it continues to baffle me that that's what they are in the US.

It wasn't "one of the worst movies ever made" as it's so often described as. It does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as actual shit like Battlefield Earth or Highlander 2. It is however still a bad movie overall.

No. In fact when the principal and her cronies were going door-to-door explaining each class about what happened they skipped mine so we learned about it from the other kids at lunch. When I saw the topic title I thought for sure that he'd finally killed himself doing that stupid "spear through the ropes to an opponent on the apron" spot he used to do in every match. Like every time I saw him do it I thought to myself "one of these days that's going to end badly".

I couldn't fathom paying full price on release day for a Ubisoft game., but their games are perfectly fine as long as you buy them for 50% off a year after they release.

Reminds me of Zellers up here in Canada. Those were everywhere once upon a time.

Zellers still had hundreds of stores when it was shut down and the leases sold to Target though. It wasn't given the chance to die a slow agonizing death like KMart has.

For me FedEx is the worst because they never ever actually attempt delivery (I live in a fairly large apartment building and I guess their drivers see it and go "fuck that") and their depot to pick up undelivered packages is on a rural road 40 minutes out of the city in the middle of an empty fucking field.

At least when UPS, Purolator or Canada Post decide they don't want to come into my building, their pick up locations are all within 10 minutes of me. Hell I can walk to Canada Post and UPS.

He could claim Ukraine bought or stole a nuclear device like a Bond villain or was provided one by the US/UK/France. Or if he nuked a military base of some kind that stores nuclear warheads he could claim Ukrainian operatives snuck into Russia and detonated one of their own bombs.

Sure I don't think anyone would believe him, but if he's stupid enough to nuke his own territory and try to frame it on Ukraine, he's probably stupid enough to think the world would believe it too.

TBF nearly every game with one of those glitches has more commonly played categories that ban it and they're almost never the most common or popular run.

Like in Super Mario World 0 Exit is basically a meme category and the vast majority of runners do 96 Exit, 11 Exit or No Cape, No Starworld.

Russia has signed and ratified of every part of the Geneva Convention except Protocol 3, which merely recognizes the Red Crystal as a symbol for medical personnel.

Because the vast majority of the world signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty outlawing the construction of nuclear weapons. Only India, Pakistan, Israel and South Sudan have yet to sign it (and North Korea pulled out of it).

Also Ukraine did inherit nuclear weapons from the collapse of the Soviet Union, but willingly gave them up in signing the Budapest Memorandum which guaranteed that the US, UK and Russia would respect Ukraine's territorial sovereignty. Another potential problem with this whole situation as Russia is blatantly violating it right now and the US and UK are not really doing anything to stop them which could lead to other nations blatantly breaking treaties and agreements with the US and UK as it'll be seen that the they won't honor them anyway.

Think of it this way, when the 13 colonies declared independence from Great Britain, they began effectively governing themselves with no more control from Britain. Britain of course didn't recognize their independence and the American Revolutionary War took place until the Treaty of Paris was signed which officially saw Great Britain recognize the US as an independent government. However between 1776 and 1783 there were several outside nations that recognized American independence, such as the Netherlands.

In this case, Ukraine is the UK, Donetsk and Luhansk are the 13 colonies and Russia is the Netherlands.

I remember a little while ago seeing some geek from Fox News (I think Tucker Carlson, which should be no surprise) reporting on Australia's strong COVID lockdowns and restrictions and saying something like "Of course, Prime Minister Scott Morrison represents the Liberal Party, so it should be no surprise that he's a member of the far-left who are happily restricting the freedoms of the Australian people like Stalin did in the Soviet Union".

The people from Fox News would probably have their brains melt if they ever found out that the Liberal Party of Australia is their right-wing conservative party and that Scott Morrison is actually a very right-wing politician that most republicans in America would probably love.

I highly doubt Oliver was ever an option. He'd already left the show to do Last Week Tonight the year before and I'm sure any contract he had with HBO would have prevented him from leaving there to take over The Daily Show. Plus being on HBO seems to give him a lot more leeway and creative freedom then he'd probably have on The Daily Show, so even if he could've left I'm not sure he would've unless the money was a lot better.
