I liked Clive. His perpetual dryness worked well with all the zany slapstick stuff he was subjected to, and I liked when they would make fun of him

Exactly. He was supposed to be the "dry presenter" to the wacky improv performers. Drew Carey could never be that and didn't want to be that given the eps where the final sketch involved him.

Like Harry Shearer would be better in that role.

IMO its just as good as the Drew Carey run. Especially with Colin and Ryan still there, those two are irreplacable.

I thought we were talking about the original UK Whose Line that ran from 88-99.

But I guess we're talking about the "original" as being the Drew Carey run from 98-07 and now comparing it to the Aisha Tyler run from 13-21?
