He played Hemet fairly early on, and I armoured up enough to get out of double Pyroblast range before completing the quest. I popped him at one, and, with twelve health left, I assumed I had won because he had already played a Fireball, and had no cards left in his deck. He had 4 cards in hand, and played both his remaining Fireball and the Fireball he discovered off of Glyph on turn 2 for exact lethal. I wasn't even mad. --- |

Aggro decks generally have the best time against it, and it's where most of my wins come from. I think the difference between winning and losing, even with Aggro, is whether they have the prep on turn 5. If you're able to control the board, then it doesn't matter if they have the quest playable on 5 because they'll have no board, but a prep into quest, followed by 3 5/5's is usually enough even if you've got 4-5 small minions on board. --- |

So many people play it and yet I have only ever lost to 1 Quest Rogue and that was due to misplays on my part! I disagree. While it's true that my winrate is over 50% against Quest Rogue in general, every game feels like it's decided by the mulligan, and there isn't much you can do regardless of your opener or what you're playing. Either they open with the things they need to complete the quest early, and win, or they don't, and lose fairly quickly. I've had games where I've opened terrible against them and won because their opening was poor, and games where I've opened with the best possible hand (in matchups where I'm favoured), and lost because they got what they needed to complete the quest very early. I groan every time I see a Rogue because it feels like your just going through the motions for the first few turns to see what the outcome is. With Pirate Warrior, there were a lot of games over by turn two, but I felt like as the opponent, there were things you could do and cards you could top deck to either delay their win, or change the outcome. With Quest Rogue, your draws often don't matter, and they're essentially playing solitaire, which is the issue. It's not fun. --- |

I've already made it painfully clear that I'm more than ready to face DP, and that I am certainly not going to be a part of a filler feud. Tonight should be exciting. Stifled has taken DP to the brink on multiple occasions, and was very close to being the superstar I would be matched up against for the Undisputed Title. My initial goal is to read all of the iconic Batman stuff, which I've been working at for awhile. Out of the big stuff, I have Morrison's run, Knightfall, and No Man's Land that I've yet to get through, and have already completed the Miller and Loeb stuff, as well as the Hushs, UTRH, DitF, Arkham Asylum, and The Killing Joke. I eventually do want to branch out into bigger DC stories and events from the past once I finish most of the Batman stuff. I've become a huge Nightwing fan, and have the reprints of the Chuck Dixon run that are currently being released on my wishlist. Other than what I listed, there isn't anything specific I'm looking to read, so I'm definitely open to suggestions. --- |

| davidponte 04/27/17 1:14:29 AM #147 | Super late to this topic, but I'm actually one of those people mentioned in the first few posts who transitioned from watching the movies to becoming a regular comics reader. This was about 3-4 years ago, and I initially was more interested in reading Marvel because of the MCU, until I realized how non-newbie friendly comics were in general. I'm the type of person who likes to start things from the beginning, and while that obviously wasn't feasible with comics, I seen that DC had the New52, and that I could essentially get in on a "beginning", with the flagship titles being approximately 30 issues in, and stuff like Deathstroke and Harley Quinn just launching. The first comics I ever bought were the first 6-7 New52 Harley Quinn issues, New52 Deathstroke #1, and The Court Of Owls trade. By the time I had caught up in everything I was following, and wanted to branch out into Marvel, they had already begun the process of the constant reboots, which turned me off completely. I wasn't interested in having to start over from #1 constantly, and also wasn't interested in new takes on characters. Female Thor can be cool, but as someone who wanted to get into it, that wasn't the take on the character that I was looking for. So yeah, despite being first interested in Marvel, I now only read DC. I'm currently pulling 11 runs and most of the event stuff so I've got some general knowledge on current DC, although I'm about a month behind on actually reading everything. I've been working on catching up on some of the most iconic Batman stories as well, and just got started on Morrison's run with Batman & Son/The Black Glove. --- |

| davidponte 04/24/17 11:00:01 PM #13 | I played regularly throughout the entire PePe format, and it was pretty overpowered. I only caught the end of Dragon Ruler relevancy, but from what I've seen it was the strongest deck ever during it's heyday. I'm inclined to say PePe is stronger overall just because of how crazy power creep is in Yugioh. So many of the great decks of the past wouldn't even scratch the surface of the power level of new stuff. I actually stopped playing right after the new Monarch support came out and PePe got killed off, so I have no idea if any new stuff would be even better.
