Kenyan Drake has put my team all the way onto his back in the last two weeks. The fantasy title is now within reach. Possibly my greatest late season waiver add of all time.

I feel like this is going to be a movie the grows on me as I rewatch it.

It's very weird, going in I figured we'd get retconning of 8, a messy plot, and heavy doses of nostalgia, and my thoughts were, "hell yeah sign me up for all of that", but after getting exactly that I'm not really sure how I feel.

I didn't dislike it, but I don't think it's great. There were moments and callbacks that I absolutely loved, fanboyed over, and got emotional because of, but there were so many moments where I literally threw my hands up in the air in the theatre and said, "are you serious?". The issue is that those latter moments always came right before or after the former moments so it impacted my enjoyment of them a little bit.

I thought the second half was immeasurably better than the first half. I enjoyed the references and callbacks for the most part, I liked the ending.

The Leia scenes were all bad, which is really unfortunate. It was a tough position to be in but they were incredibly immersion breaking for me. I couldn't even pretend that they fit. The scene where Kylo and Rey are fighting over the ship in the air with the force is probably my least favourite of the film. I was incredibly angry at both the Chewie and C3PO things and them going back on both of them just makes me annoyed that they even did them in the first place. I also thought the whole "I'm Rey Skywalker" thing at the end was very cheesy.

Better than 8, probably not as good as 7, for me personally, but again I could see it growing on me.

I actually preferred Before the Storm to the first Life is Strange.

Before playing it, I too thought, "man there's no way this short prequel could be better, and it's going to suffer without Max", only to realize that Chloe indeed is actually the best character from the series.

Something about learning more about Rachel and the knowledge of what was yet to come made it an incredibly emotional journey for me. It ended up making it into my top 25 games of the decade.

5 > 6 > 4 > 3 > RO > 7 > 1 > Solo > 2 > 8

Through most of my childhood I had 6 > 5 but I flipped on that in the last five or so years. I probably watched the OT a dozen times before the age of six when the prequels started coming out, so I was the perfect combination of young and into Star Wars to love them regardless which is why 3 still ranks so high for me, although I can't nostalgia my way into even subjectively saying 1 and 2 are good movies. 1 only ranks so high because of the music and Darth Maul at this point.

Rogue One is a fantastic movie, and The Last Jedi is the only Star Wars movie I've only watched once and will never watch again. I would say it was so boring that I almost fell asleep in the theatre but I'd be lying because by the third act I was hate watching it and very much awake.

I haven't read any of the reviews because I want to go in knowing as little as possible, but a friend said that many of the critics explain that it is very predictable and that if you loved The Last Jedi then you would dislike this one. He loved TLJ so he's not happy about that, but that is exactly what I'm looking for so I'm pretty excited. This feels like one of those, "critics hate it, audience score is 97%" type of movies at this point.

My spoiler tag has nothing to do with a plot point or anything about the movie at all really, but I know some people don't want to hear anything about anything so I figured I'd add it in.

Probably like $80 when I was in high school. Sometimes I look back at all the money I spent in grade 12 to be "fashionable" and can't believe how much of it was wasted on clothes than I ended up just barely growing out of in the next few years.

If I waited another year or two I could still be wearing them!

Very surprised that House/Powers of X didn't make your list!

I both had no interest and had never read an X-men comic prior to it and it instantly hooked me in while also not punishing me for not knowing who 75% of the characters were. I regularly let my pull list stack up a few weeks before reading but these X books were "read as soon as I get home from the store" books.

I found more people talking about it than any book that has been out since I started reading. Most weeks, the talk at my comic store when I'm in there is about anything but comics as I try to steer it to other interests knowing the guy that works there already has to talk about them for hours a day, but we found ourselves spending an hour every Thursday going over the latest issue in this series.

One thing I will say, though, is that I've been pretty disappointed with the follow up and relaunch. Straight from issue 1 of X-men I went back to feeling bad about reading for not understanding the history of these characters, and by only reading the main title I've missed out on most of the actual interesting things that are happening in relation to Krakoa. It's been very disappointing.

Very excited to see what the rest of the comics on the list are. I actually got into Books of Magic just last month and it is now one of my favourite books that I'm currently reading. I haven't read any of the new (or old) Sandman Universe stuff, but after reading the first issue of the new Hellblazer and seeing this Tim Hunter character I figured I should probably read the book that he's featured in to see what's going on in this world. Great decision.

I think I lost 3 games from rank 10-5, which I just got to now!

My deck tracker has me at 8-1, but I played a handful more on mobile.

Two losses came in the mirror, and one to a Holy Wrath Paladin in which by turn 10 I had drawn one Galakrond related card.

On topic though I'm 8-1 with the shaman deck David posted and my one loss was to an absurd Dragonqueen high roll. I'm only rank 7 because I haven't played seriously in a could months but I'm gong to try to push to legend before the nerfs land. Then I'll look for a fun highlander deck to play.

This is essentially my thoughts as well. I've finally lost a few games with the deck and it was to the mirror. It feels like all of ladder is Shaman right now.
