I don't think anything in the episode outright debunks the theory (echoing post 14 here) but I do find it so very Disney that they went out of their way to provide ammunition against the headcanon this episode. Was especially rolling my eyes at the scene in the elevator where Sylvie asks what she was even arrested for and gets told by Miss Badass Time Cop that she doesn't remember. Lmao really bitch? You expect me to believe you forgot Sylvie got arrested for the crime of being a woman? They couldn't have just written confirmation of that? It isn't really a mystery - she's right there! Yes, they used that line to make a point about how fascism doesn't care but they could still have made that same point.

I also agree that there's more to this than Sylvie being arrested simply because she was born as a female Loki. If that were true, then her nexus event would have started either immediately at birth or possibly immediately upon being adopted into the royal family. I could be wrong, but logically, there would have to be more to it than simply because Sylvie is a female version of Loki.

In fact - the twist may be that she's not actually a version of Loki at all. Or that all of the "Variants" aren't really even variants at all. Whoever or whatever is behind the TVA probably has something else behind their kidnapping of all of these so-called "Variants".

Either way, I do agree that Ravonna completely knows why she arrested Sylvie. She had been chasing Sylvie for years. She either didn't want to admit the reason or she was being smug and screwing with Sylvie.

Also, Episode 4 was WAAAAAYYYYYY better than Episode 3.

So, I am curious if anyone here actually watched this movie. I went in with pretty low expectations and it was a legitimately great movie.

Emma Stone did a phenomenal job as Cruella and Emma Thompson was also really good. They were two legitimately strong female characters without any forced female empowerment. They just let the story tell a surprisingly good story.

Even the music fit the movie very well. And Cruella made a couple of awesome entrances during some of the scenes. This movie really did a lot for her character. It turned a one dimensional crazy villain into an intriguing, well developed villain.

This was easily the best Disney live action movie since Saving Mr. Banks. Highly recommended.

That may be true to a degree. Then maybe a more accurate statement would be that Japanese culture still isn't as concerned about diversity as Western culture is.

I'm not an expert on this topic so feel free to correct me anyone who knows better, but I'm gonna take a slight issue with this stance, there are absolutely calls for diversity (of all kinds) from Japanese people themselves. Japan isn't the homogeneous monolith that it's presented as in the West anymore, and you can't really judge a country by the handful of those who have all the power. Of course there's the tradition and massively different culture but it's not like these conversations aren't happening over there.

And I mean it's not like there's an abundance of western games with non-white leads (not counting customisable characters but legit, defined characters that aren't white).

It's not a stance - it's a simple observation about a culture that is different than Western Culture. Europe, Canada and the US are the most diverse areas in the world. It makes perfect sense that diversity would be more important to the people living in such diverse areas. Cultures that aren't very diverse simply aren't as concerned about it.

It is true that social media does more than ever to influence the views of people in other parts of the world, but it would take a lot more than some Tweets and Instagram Stories to change an entire culture.

Diversity has never been nearly as big of a concern to Japanese culture because, quite frankly - their culture isn't very diverse. It might be a little surprising that it's taken this long for them to cater to Western audiences who have recently made a much more vocal demand for diversity, but Japan has always been very focused on their own traditions.

What a great album. This album hit it big while I was in high school and everyone knows that the music you listen to in high school and shortly afterward forms the foundations of your lifelong musical tastes. This was one of the first CDs I ever purchased and it influenced my musical tastes. I listened to it extensively and I can still sing along with almost every track. 20+ years later almost every song on this album still holds up. This might be one of the most consistently great albums of all time.

1. Surf Wax America - Everything about this song is great. It reminds me of heading out to the ocean and having a good time. It just feels good.

2. My Name is Jonas - It was already a great song and then it showed up in Guitar Hero III and it somehow became even better. (Side note - I played in a Guitar Hero tournament and got a perfect score on this song to push me to 5th place out of over 500 entrants...)

3. In the Garage - A great song about having your safe space to be a nerd. Everyone on this board should appreciate this song.

4. Buddy Holly - A Classic video for a great song.

5. Say it Aint So - I got kind of burned out on this song until it showed up in Rock Band. Then I loved it all over again. (Also The first song I got a perfect on in Rock Band on Expert Drums!)

6. Only in Dreams - A very sweet song, but it was mine and my ex's "song". So, while the song is objectively great, the memories attached to it aren't so much.

7. No One Else - Another catchy song that is still enjoyable but not as great as most of the album.

8. Holiday - Standard Weezer song. Good but not great.

9. The World has Turned and Left Me Here - The only song on this album I couldn't start singing from memory or remember the music/lyrics to. The most forgettable and generic song on the album.

10. Undone - I never really cared for the Sweater Song. It was too slow for me, but not sweet like Only In Dreams. It doesn't help that it got massively overplayed on the radio and is still overplayed on commercial alternative radio. Pass.

Since we're getting close to the end and there's only a 1 week (I think) gap after WandaVision ends before it starts, but how is everyone feeling about Falcon & Winter Soldier at this point? Hype? Not hype? Moderately hyped?

I never liked Bucky. He's always been a terrible character and Captain America should have just let him die multiple times.

So, I have very low expectations for the next show. Hopefully it surprises me as much as Wandavision did.

Meh. This episode was the weakest one yet to me. I agree that it didn't really add much we didn't already know. It seems like a very polarizing episode - you either thought it was the best or the weakest.

And come on - of course Agatha is evil. That was clearly established when she wiped out her clan and killed her own mother. She has no intention of helping Wanda - she only wants power for herself, which again - sure isn't it help humanity.

She may end up making it out of Westview without being the main villain of this show, but even if the climax culminates in a face off with the military - Agatha will certainly return as a villain in another show or movie.
