Majora's Mask, Paper Mario, Earthbound and Suikoden II alone would sell for close to $1500 on ebay. That whole lot is easily worth 2500 - 3000 if not more.

I wish I had been able to keep/find more of my boxes for my SNES games. I have about 56 loose carts and 13 with boxes, in varying states of CIB. PS1 are infinitely easier to keep track of.

As a collector, I think CIB games for soft-cover boxes is a lost cause, so NES, SNES, and N64 are cart-only for me. The one exception are Game Boy (/Color/Advance) cartridges because they are hard to display loose and I just happen to have been able to keep them in great condition across the years.

As much as I love the PSX jewel case, the GOAT on my shelf is still the Genesis clamshell though tbh.

Depends on how willing he is to sit on it. In the last 10 months I've sold 90k worth of merchandise on ebay by exclusively selling through the buy it now option. If you're willing to be patient someone will eventually just pay it.

if you want max profits, yes. but it IS a bit more work. So I can understand you wanting to take a hit

You can sell to however you want, including that collector, but its just, you seemed to think it was a good price. If you're fine with it, by all means, but I just wanted you to know

I would almost definitely not use GameFAQs to sell your games. There are no protections here, and you are putting all of your trust in the other person. Also we don't allow you to use GameFAQs to advertise shit for your own profit.

I usually do buy it nows. Takes a bit of research but you can go to advanced search and click "sold listings" to get a good look at actual real sold prices, and figure out an average there

bids usually let me down

I have a mixed bag when it comes to that. I prefer auctions because they are usually more realistic as to what people will actually pay for an item. Paying $500 for a video game is fucking stupid, but paying just over $200 isn't terrible. It's how I managed to get Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn for around $45 Canadian when it's going for well over $100.

I also like it when Buy It Now prices have an 'or best offer' option. I recently got Arc Rise Fantasia for $65 + shipping, when it's currently going for well over $100. I absolutely refuse to deal with storefronts that have a Buy It Now price and no wiggle room, unless the price is so well below the median asking price that it looks like a good deal.

If you have a lot of time Ebay

If you have a little time, Facebook marketplace with no shipping and let people pick it up at your house.

If you have no time take the valuable ones to a game store and just hold on to the rest because it isnt worth it

As an ebay seller I loathe the best offer option. When I first started selling I used it and it essentially guarantees 2 things. Firstly that you are going to get ridiculous low-ball offers that are a waste of time to read and secondly that you won't get the buy it now price on 95%+ of your auctions as people expect a discount with that option on. The third issue with the best offer option is the same issue you get with auctions, some people who just never pay after you accept their offer. Whereas if you just use buy it now you can toggle it on to force payment immediately for it to go through.

Auctions / Best offers favor buyers and pure buy it nows favor sellers. I'd only ever utilize a non buy it now option if I had merchandise that I just couldn't move and just wanted rid of it.

Also, you can still send offers out to interested buyers with Buy It Now on. So I always feel it's better to list with a simple Buy It Now and then you can send out offers to prospective buyers where you control the price if you feel like giving a discount.

What I like though is that Ebay allows you to set a range for your offers, so that you won't even get notifications at all or ever see them, unless it's in the range that you set. I do that, and sometimes I'll just make my listings higher so that I can accept Best Offers that are a few dollars lower because people love sending Best Offers because they feel like they are getting a deal. And another good benefit is that almost everyone will try a best offer before buying, so you can filter out shitty looking buyers easier by just never accepting their offer. It's also nice too if you have your listings as Free Shipping, and while you probably have your product prices marked up to reflect this, you can choose sellers in closer shipping zones and save money, all while still getting more views since a large chunk of buyers filter by Free Shipping only, despite it not really mattering.

Oh, I forgot one of the most critical benefits of Buy It Now vs Auctions.

You can use the promoted listing option on Buy It Now, you cannot on auctions. Over the last year 70% of my sales have come via promoted clicks and only 30% via organic clicks. You set the % you pay but it has definitely been worth it in my case (I set it at 4%). If someone clicks on your listing organically then you don't pay the promotion fee even if you have it toggled on.

I equate it with Fishing. As long as you're competitive, you'll get a bite eventually, but I guess there are still different levels of patience among ebay once you get into that one too

Which is all fair. When I see the 'or best offer' option, I treat it like haggling. No seller is going to respond positively if you offer less than 50% of their asking price. If something is listed at $90, I'll start off at about $65. Usually we end up meeting in the middle. I'm less inclined to use the 'Buy It Now' option if people are asking ridiculous prices for the item, or if I feel the items not worth what the market value is.

This is all about perspective. As a buyer, I treat shipping costs as if it's a tax. If you're trying to charge me $35 for shipping a small package that's less than 1lb, your base price better be lower to reflect that. I'm not paying $65 plus $35 for shipping. That's just not going to happen. I don't filter my search results, though. You never know what you're going to find.

My eBay approach is generally list it for quite a bit over market value (~30 - ~40% overpriced) Buy it Now with Offers enabled and just wait until a decent enough offer comes in. Can be a bit of waiting, so not the best method if you're in a rush though.
Once in a while you'll even get lucky and someone impatient will bite for the full price.

I've unloaded a few rare older games / accessories / cards this way and it's generally gotten me better prices than I see on recently sold.

Edit: But yeah, like someone else mentioned you will also get some hilariously low lowball offers from time to time.

Yea, best offer is god awful

buyers will super stupid lowball you

so I understand sellers putting limits

but then AS a buyer, I always encounter the problem that sellers only counteroffer the price but like, 2 dollars off. What the fuck is the point of putting best offers if you're not gonna actually trying to shave anything off, just leave it as buy it now then
