You can get a KO at any level of Super, but that's the way to do it right now. There are probably other options in the full game, or should be, at least.

well, that's really lame. Whichever character attacks fastest will always fill their meter the fastest and activate their super moves the most. That's kind of a lame winning system - just attack fast.

...except that it's far less fun.

I guess the goal is to get the most KOs, but I have no idea how you get KOs. There are no life bars or meters. Getting knocked off the side of the stage doesn't do much - you can get right back up. It seemed very random as to when people would suddenly disappear for a moment and then reappear from the top of the screen; and even hat didn't happen very often. The one surefire way there was to get a KO was to charge up your super-move meter to Level 3, by hitting people repeatedly, and unleash it.

8 characters and 4 stages were playable. Parappa is amusing as a character, but would ANYONE consider Fat Princess to be a Sony All-Star? Come on. I still have no idea who Radec is - is he really an All-Star? Oh, and I always thought Bioshock was mainly a 360 series with PS3 ports? I am rather skeptical of Sony's character choices here. For the recoed - I played about 7 or 8 rounds and each time the other human player (I played against multiple different people.) always picked Kratos. ALWAYS. Every time.

Overall, it was a pretty dull game demo and seriously dampened my enthusiasm for the game.

How is it that almost 100 posts in and most people are still talking about which Tales character might make it in with pretty much no mention of Soul Calibur or Tekken. Those are - y'now - ACTUAL fightining game characters. Yoshimitsu and Nightmare have a much better chance of making it in now than any random Tales character.

I am going for the first time to GenCon in Indianapolis this year. While video games are still my first love (and I do wish there were more video games at GenCon), I do have a good group of board gaming buddies that I am going with.

Plus, my entire weekend admission is free since I am hosting my own event there. I created a custom version of Epic Duels (originally Star Wars Epic Duels) with Super Smash Bros Brawl characters - with the help of some of my friends. It's a pretty awesome board game. Anyone who has any idea what I am talking about is also pretty awesome.

So, yeah - I'm getting pretty psyched about GenCon.

so far, TWEWY and FF Tactics A2, but I plan on playing Radaint Historia soon. Rondo of Swords and Etrian Odyssey II were pretty darn good, too.

Pokemon Conquest for the DS. Comes out in the US on 6-18-12. It's developed by Koei. It's basically Pokemon meets Nobunga's Ambition. You have to collect Pokemon AND collect commanders.

I finally bit and went ahead and preoredered this last week and am very glad I did. I played five hour last night and loved every minute of it. The music is fantastic, especially the title screen song. Even swimming around in the giant lake for an hour was enjoyable.

to me, this is the Final Fantasy game that should have been.

..... this is what I am afraid of. The Last Story, which looks equally awesome, will at least be on Amazon - so that one might have a better chance at a sale.......Also, that free Xenoblade artbook does sound pretty sweet. I may just be leaning towards pre-ordering....

I'm torn here. I honestly can't remember the last time I paid full retail price for a game. I virtually always pick up my games either on sale or used. In fact, I think the last one I paid full price for was probably Final Fantasy XII.

I know Xenoblade will be awesome. I know there are people on this board that already have it and love it. But what are the chances of it going on sale? What are the chances of even being able to find it if you don't pre-order it? Do I wait or just pre-order the game?

The Last Story feels like a throwback to a bygone era. Like a PS2 Final Fantasy we never got. I have a feeling this is going to develop a cult following over the years. Gonna review it later this month.
