If anything, it's all just a sub-genre of rock music.

But that's not really pertinent to the discussion on hand. For the past 60+ years, mainstream success in music has always been about having the backing of the record label you're on.

I've been battling with my weight for as long as I can remember, even as far back as elementary school.
I went to a small, private school from K-8. So small that my graduating class was only 23 kids. I was the biggest one, so I was "Big Mike" basically my entire childhood.

I was able to parlay some of that weight into a (fairly) successful run as a football player through high school where my weight wasn't the butt of the jokes, as it became an asset to my football career. But once I started college and the weight from working out all through HS slowly moved from my chest back into my stomach, I ballooned all the way up to 305 pounds by the time my 2nd child was born.

I tried every "diet" in the world. Keto, Atkins, Weight Watchers, etc. It wasn't until I turned 45, and was 275 pounds that I decided to take my weight seriously. My cardiologist is a very frank individual, and he said to me "You rarely see fat old people. So you have a choice. You can be fat, or you can be old. You can't be both". I hooked up with a friend who happens to be a local Indy Wrestler, so he trains like a mad man, and he got me on a sustainable eating and training program that works around my lifestyle and schedule.

This sounds so cliche, but sometimes it really is as simple as "Calories in vs Calories burned". Once you realize that it's not a "diet" and it is a true lifestyle change, where you basically just create a new routine, you figure out ins't not as tough as you originally thought.

I now weight 215 pounds, wear sizes I haven't worn since I was in High School, and while I may not be where I want to be aesthetically (my stomach will never recover from going from 275 to 215 in less than 6 months without cosmetic surgery), I'm in the best physical shape of my adult life, and also medically in the best shape of my life.

It can be done, even at an advanced age.

I work for a fairly small company, so our Holiday party is just the 20 or so employees going out to dinner, so it's really not that bad.

I mean, I guess.

All that would happen is the Republican Party would dissolve, and the Democrat Party would split into two parties. The DINOs and the Extremes

Mild annoyance since Im only there for the single player but ultimately wouldnt impact me much. Now if it was a pure online only title as much as I love the series I wouldnt even buy it.

Hopefully they implement online similar to RDR2 in that it felt like an extension of single player and was perfectly viable and fun to play online solo. If they do that Ill partake.

I've never played GTAV online, but I loved RDR2 online becasue it felt like it had a lot of solo missions, or at least ones that felt like solo missions.

I don't watch a ton of TV other than sports and wrestling, but I still don't think I could do this.

But in most instances, it takes very little effort to do the right thing.

Most of the time you have to go out of your way to be a dick to someone.

For example, a person asks to refer to them as a "They/Them". You have two choices. Say "Ok", or get yourself in a tizzy as to why you're not going to do that.

You heard someone got an abortion. You can use little effort to sympathize with/for them, or you can lecture them about their decisions.

In both instances, the less effort you put in, the better off you are.

My parents bought their house in 1978 for $42K.

They sold it in 2011 for $722k

Thankfully they werent as Boomer as the average person born in the late 40s and early 50s and understood how fucked future generations are

The bigger question is are the new the subscribers going to be long term subscribers? Or are they going to drop it after a couple months when they watch what they want.

From what I'm reading, a lot of the new subscribers are boomer and GenX parents that were sharing with their kids that no longer live with them, or splitting it with a friend/sibling.

100% the kind of subscriber that has had a gym membership for a decade despite not going into the gym since they signed up.

They aren't going anywhere.

Some people unsubscribe. Others subscribe in their place. I unsubscribed because of that password sharing crackdown despite being a subscriber since 2016 or 2017. I will never subscribe to them again.

But, at least the way the numbers are looking, for every person like you that unsubscribed because of password sharing, there was 1.25 people that either created their own account or upgraded their old account to add a second "home" location.

At a higher charge, of course.

Which is the equivalent of 2 months of most cable packages.

Obviously, you don't get as much. And to be completely honest, I rarely even use my Netflix, my wife an kids do. But they still seem to find value in it.

Netflix isn't a necessity. It's a luxury.

They're just trying to help out Millennials.

They're making it so expensive that they'll all be forced to cancel, and will finally have enough money to pay off their student loans.

Now, if only the avocado toast and bubble tea people would do the same, people may even be able to afford to buy a house!

It's beyond wild when a good majority of the country that isn't hardcore into politics kinda just says "All I want is someone relatively normal representing us" and we've done nothing other than get further and further away from anything resembling normal in Washington.

There's really no stigma attached to gaming anymore, so no one really separates people into anything other than "casual" and "hardcore" gamers.

If anything, the "dudebros" just play the stuff that's popular, because they tend to be casual gamers, or at least ones that are only hardcore about the most popular games.

I tend to go the opposite way, where shows I watch progressively get worse, and I continue to watch them out of a sense of obligation.

I rarely give a show or movie a second chance after I feel like I didn't enjoy it.

Those costs are the same whether people are there or not, so this argument doesn't hold much water.

Studies have shown that forcing people from remote work to in office work decreases their productivity, so, in effect, they'd be costing themselves even more money just to "feel" better about money they're already spending, regardless.

And that's assuming they're not paying for electric, heating, water, waste, or whatever else, because those are costs being saved by remote work.

EDIT: Beyond that, if you find your work can be done better, or atleast the same, remote, then why would you force yourself back into a situation where you need to renew the rental/lease agreement, instead of seeing it as something you could save money on in the future?

I didn't say it wasn't flawed logic, I just said that's the logic behind it.

Given the option, I don't know why a company WOULDN'T want their workers to be remote, and get out from under owning/leasing/renting office space.

Unless it's some sort of tax situation, where the ownership of the property gives them some sort of financial advantages.
