I find the best argument for not eating meat is to watch the texas chainsaw massacre and put yourself in the position of the victims of leatherface and co. Obviously, if my place was swapped with a slaughterpig, I would not want to be slaughtered. Right? So if you like the idea of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you, then you should obviously not eat meat. So bacon is bad. It's delicious, but bad. I'm sure Leatherface thinks people taste great. So we're Leatherface. Great.

Things are more nuanced than that in reality. Things arent always gonna be neat and tidy and make perfect sense or seem perfectly fair.

I know. Perfection is unattainable. But to me, murder is worse than rape. Rape is totally one of the worst things you can do to someone, especially a kid, but if I had to say one is worse than the other, I'd say murder is worse. And to me, for someone who took someone's life to be punished less for a worse crime, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Overall, 2 examples of shitty people getting punished, so could be a lot worse. I just think it's interesting when we see the law being applied unevenly. It's definitely the norm, though, which is a bummer.

My point is that the legal system does not justly or equally apply the laws and justice. My point definitely is not that she should get less time. If anything, the murderer should have gotten just as much if not more time.

But if pressed on the point, me personally, I would rather be raped as a child than killed as an adult.

While usually I'd say "c'mon, she was just a kid back then," she's only 19 now so she's not as far removed from it. That said, this is one of those song exceptions where whatever the word was, it apparently popped up in a reasonably mainstream song

The article is about how bad it was that she mouthed the word along with the song in a video when she was a kid, but a popular artist, still, hasn't gotten any crap for writing, recording, and performing a song with the exact word? What a bunch of hooey. If Tyler, the Creator isn't in trouble, then Billie definitely shouldn't be.

I'm super excited if this is real. I'm not a fan of Souls-type games because I'm not good at them and don't feel like trying hard to get better, but if it has FF ambience, environment, and music, then I will give it more effort than I've given to games like Nioh. Honestly, I don't want a challenge in games because I'm a lazy old man, but if I could enjoy a next-gen visit to the world of the original Final Fantasy, I'll deal with whatever gameplay mechanic they shove down my throat. I also hate Dissidia, by the way. I just thought of that and thought it was important to include.

To address the first topic you introduced, what happens after we die, I think it's nothing. We die and cease to exist or be conscious. That's the end. Our existence and consciousness begins with our birth and ends with our death. I don't believe there is anything beyond this, in a physical sense. Not to say that life is meaningless, but the only meaning we get is what we attribute to it. I don't think we continue to exist and cycle through the ages. Our thoughts and ideas and influence might, but not us.

The way it's usually made at most Mexican places in the US is slow cooked brisket or skirt steak, shredded, then fried. It's often served mixed with scrambled eggs, onions, and peppers.

I'll continue to wear a mask wherever and whenever I have to. I'm not gonna be a jerk and disobey the rules of whatever place I happen to be at. Regardless, I really want to ditch the mask completely and just wish everyone would get vaccinated so we can go back to being uncomfortably close to each other.

It's weird to me that there are people who are afraid or suspicious of the vaccine. Like, we've had a bunch of vaccines as children, what's a couple more? Especially if you don't like the COVID rules, you'd think this would be something even Trumpers would like.
