Also what if your phone battery dies? Not like it'd be the end of the world as most places have a clock somewhere and you could ask people, but still. I see people walking around frantically nervous because their cell phone battery is at 4%...seems logical to me to push off timekeeping functions to a device that has a battery that can last for 5-10 years.

Its so much more convenient to not have to pull out a phone and tap the screen to figure out the time.

So I click on "this form" and nothing happens. I dont want to accept it because I dont know if I can still appeal, but when I click on the "this form" link nothing happens. I even used another browser and disabled adblock to see if thats it and it isnt.

I think this was a mistake. the notice gives no reason why it was taken down(i just uploaded it two hours ago), but i dont know what to do.

32 teams from 32 countries around the world. I set the game to only allow each team to field players from their nation.

They play 150 games with a balances schedule. This is to figure out seeding for the playoffs. Then the playoffs is 32v1, 31vs2 etc until two teams remain.

I kinda liked the idea of the regular season being "seeding" and then one bigass playoff.

The game has the option for each team to only be able to use players from their own nation, but in the game itself it can be difficult because the AI I dont think realizes this completely. Each team has a reserve roster of players from random nations. These guys cannot play and are all angry as a result. Four teams I could not no matter what get to fix their rosters(most teams has a field of players from home, some didnt), so I had to change the nationalities of some reserve roster players to the nation of the team.

this is holding for now. gonna sim 20 seasons then see what data the game produces.

I did notice one thing: in year 1 New Zealand finished in last 12-138. Their team ERA was abysmal at 21.00. I think because of the same nation req they were fielding teams of 12 players likely with batters pitching. I forgot to set up the playoffs for year one, but in year two with a much reduced team ERA of 8, they finish in last place yet again winning only 29 games. better but still awful.

In round 1 of the playoffs vs the #1 team, they lost that series 3-2, with the deciding game being lost 6-5. Almost a killer upset, beating a team they finished around 75 games behind in regular season play. That woulda been even more impressive than a 16 v 1 upset in the NCAA basketball tourney

all 20s. Now these arent as old as the 1950 note, but you still never see notes from the 60s. Actually, even notes from the 90s are becoming rare, I see maybe a handful a day. Compared to coins where I see wheat pennies often, 1930s nickels(non buffalo) often, etc etc.

I remember one time a man wanted to pay with two silver certiticate one dollar bills at self checkout. They wouldnt work for two reasons: too old and way too worn. So I exchanged them for two one dollar bills from my till and he went on his way.

Now I didnt buy them because I knew far less about currency then as I do now, and when i told that story people thought I was crazy for not doing so. But the condition looks like they fought themselves in the battle of D day, and were basically one small tug away from ripping. I mean most currency collectors would buy them still but fuck it. OP has a really worn example, these were ten times more worn.

They originally were able to exchanged for a one dollar silver coin(today around 13-14 bucks in silver melt), then for a year, silver shot.

one dollar in silver is around 1.5 grams or so. not a lot.

also one more thing look at the back of it compared to a regular dollar bill.

its got a more brilliant green, which is something older currency has. I dont know if they changed the color or if printed menthods are different and the color is different, but yeah.

Silver certificates are pretty cool. Worth just a dollar in that condition(and even in good condition they arent super valuable), and while you -could- spend it, theres no point because its just a buck and the history of it is cool. a relic of an older time when our currency was back by more than just "good will"

Of course in the 1960s they stopped being redeemed for silver so its just a relic dollar now.
