I think it's somewhat of an awful home console for many reasons. Basically since I would never want to play in un-docked mode, every one of the portability features is a negative for me. Every time I want to change the game OR charge the controllers I have to pull the dock out of my TV stand, and take the system off the dock. The controllers are horrible and absurdly expensive.

Furthermore The games are absurdly expensive. ($60-$80 each) The pro controller is something that should have come with the system but it's 90 dollars. Pay-to-play online which I know is standard but still sucks.

Some games are great. I enjoyed Smash and Mario Odyssey.

generally very talkative. towards the end of the night I could get sad if I'm alone but generally happy throughout the drinking experience.

I didn't play online since as I recall it was totally DOA when the game came out on PS3.
Overall it was a fun story but too scripted and the world was fairly small with basically nothing to do except play the story and ride bikes down a mountain.

Ryzen 2600 build. was originally going to go with the RX580. then the 590 was on sale for cheaper so I was going to pick that up. but I found out the thermals were garbo and I already got a mATX case so I decided to give up an extra $100 for a 1660 Ti instead. I was gonna build a cheap computer like with a 570 and then upgrade later but I decided that was stupid and I'm happy knowing to 1660 Ti will probably last me a few years at least for 1080p.

ended up costing me 750 CAD without the SSD cause I'm gonna reuse one. in my initial research it was gonna be 800 CAD for a RX 570 build so I would say I came out pretty good. my main money saves were switching to mATX (saves a lot on mobo and case) and buying parts on black friday obviously which makes a huge difference. /blogfaqs

no way I could afford a PC on minimum wage. that shit sucks. I don't think I could even pay rent.

The only reason I'm looking to get a gaming PC is that $800 is like, less than my weekly net income and I just paid off my student loan. if my salary was any lower or I had any major debt I definitely couldn't bring myself to spend that much on games.

black and white 2 had a fair challenge for a kid's game, and they weren't that slow. after that, mega boring

You're right, a PC will last a while and 500 vs 800 isn't that huge when you consider the lifespan. But u know why they say Sticker Shock.

I guess I will have to see what kind of graphically demanding games I will be interested in then, right now I'm just looking at playing Halo MCC and Overwatch tbh. Dirt Rally 2 or Project Cars 2 maybe

I mean 570 is obviously worse than 580, but it will run things at 30 fps no problem. Then again, 580 probably won't run constant 60 fps anyway.

in Canada especially. Going to replace my 6 year old college laptop with a decent gaming PC because it's crashing so much I got banned in Overwatch. heard a combo of the ryzen 2600 and RX 580 was pretty much the minimum for modern games. looked into what a build would cost and it's like $800. I'm broke and I can't cope.

So Overwatch 2 is a free update to Overwatch 1 with better graphics and an option to buy a story mode DLC. I was kinda hoping for more of a reset since I enjoy playing OW but never got to experience the game when it was new and fresh and everybody was learning and discovering strats and stuff.

Whenever I try to relax and do computer stuff or watch TV this idiot cat starts doing stupid stuff like clawing at the window screen and chewing on the internet cables. I try to play with it for a few minutes to tire it out but it just starts again when I ignore it for a few seconds. I don't have 4 hours a day to wave a wand around to entertain this stupid cat. I'm pretty sure physical discipline doesn't work. Not sure what to do.

i'm a unity developer and my PC at work is like, old i7-860 Dell Vostro tower with a radeon 6800 series and an SSD inside. works for me.

this would probably be the cheapest way to get a passable desktop, just buy a dell optiplex i7 or something and stick whatever video card inside that the shitty PSU/mobo can support. also an SSD and at least 16gb RAM is nice to have for Unity/Visual Studio.

but I make a 2d mobile game so YMMV. depends what kind of games you want to make.

tried to rewatch Fate/Zero, one of my all time favourites. but it's not really as good as I remember. I thought the nasuverse thing was cool at some point, not sure why... the whole grail war is pretty stupid when I actually think about it. couldn't get over the writing of Lancer and Saber talking to each other while they're fighting, it was really embarrassing. then I got to the episode where baby Rin investigates the missing kids at her school and I just had to stop watching.

on the other hand, rewatching Evangelion and it's exactly like I remember. great anime

sure, it's a razer ornata chroma.

it's a razer. feels pretty good to type on. but there are several things I hate about it, which seem to be designed deliberately to do something sinister.

The lettering on the keys is impossible to see without the backlight.

The default backlight pattern is horrible and distracting.

You need to log into spyware to change the lighting pattern to something sensible. (like static white)

So I need to send my keystrokes to razer in order to see the lettering on my keyboard.

well, I can't return it. so I will have to live with it. meaning disable the software on startup and learn to type blind.

lessons learned:
- keyboards are too personal to gift.
- never buy Razer ever, under any circumstances, no matter what. lol

It does. The FIRST installment is in Midgard. The second (and possibly others) will be outside. Might also depends on how the first game sells.

this is pretty bullshit to me, unless they greatly extend the midgar part it was only like 10 hours tops, probably less. that's like the introduction to the game. i'm guessing everything will just take longer, longer cutscenes, longer corridors, obviously the scorpion fight was 10 minutes of button mashing and annoying banter. but they said midgar alone is 2 blurays worth of content, I would really like to see how they pull it off cause that's obviously more than the entire FF15 game which had a fairly big world

I grew up playing games and I eventually got into programming and I was pretty good at it right off the bat. I found the intro to CS class extremely easy and I got an A+ without much effort. but I had some classmates that failed, some of whom got better overall grades than me in high school. I think it's correct to say programming is mostly to solve problems in a logical way.

So is it possible to be not-so logically minded and still succeed at school? further, succeed at programming? I detect a correlation between programmers and people who grew up gaming, could this be because games engage you in a logical problem solving sense? I know games are not often all that logical but they have their own in-world logic I suppose.

Like I grew up playing Pokemon, it doesn't make logical sense that fighting type is not good against bug type, but you can at least logically deduce that information from playing the game and then apply it to your strategy. I think often about what Pokemon is now, with the tutorials being outrageously long and upfront with the information. the excuse being it was made for kids or something. well, I don't feel like I was a "gifted" kid at like 5-6 years old but I managed to beat the first two gens of Pokemon easily enough. and obviously I wasn't the only one since those games were so popular with kids. I think it's reasonable to assume that helped develop my logical reasoning skills to a degree. Lots of questions here. I'm bored and wanted to ramble. What do you guys think?

I liked Vesperia and Graces a lot. Played the PS3 version of both, during the time when I was most interested in JRPGs. I found the combat really engaging in both games, especially Graces because the characters played so differently from each other. Vesperia probably had a better world and Graces a better combat system.

Xillia and Symphonia were okay, but I didn't finish them. Xillia in particular had really bad voice acting, I just couldn't stand Milla's English voice. After Xillia I don't really have time for JRPGs any more so I haven't played the new ones.

Destiny DC showed promise early on but I could never get my PS2 emulator working right so I didn't play much of that one. Maybe some day.

I thought it was pretty bad when I saw it a while ago. I guess I'm not in the target audience of teenage girls but I am a fan of Riverdale so I don't think that's the whole picture, it's just not funny.

I would have liked to see the scene where they arrange the human cadaver arms into a giant pinwheel
