He even softens up Tony before falcon ultimately gives him details to help cap. Captain America seems to be the best at rallying the overall team but when individuals need to pull their shit together its usually hawkeye that does that. It catches the audience off guard and usually makes that specific scene stick out more. Hawkeye as a whole had a great arc in this movie. I remember back in Age of Ultron when his family was first introduced. The producers didnt even want that scene in the movie, and felt it was too slow. But Joss Whedon fought to keep the scene in, because he knew it would mean something in the future. He was always thinking ahead to the future projects. Very smart Most of the Avengers movies have those small personal downtime scenes in between the action scenes to help as catch our breath. Those were always my favorite scenes. Endgame as a whole is a combination of all those small scenes. Some people complain that its too slow but I love those scenes so much.
