First, they are among the most widely disliked novels of the series. Second, they play very loose with the lore. Third, the leadership is treated like one-note idiots and/or monsters. And finally there is like no nuance whatsoever. Everything is black and white.
Traviss' Kilo-5 trilogy estabilished a lot of the base post-H3 canon and the second book was mostly setup for Halo 4. It was also one of the worst Halo books, yes. The 1st book of the trilogy wasn't too bad, though it was hated a lot for its criticism of Halsey. The 3rd was weird, but not bad.

The moral treatment of its leaders is weird, with Halsey painted as a complete monster but Parangosky held as an absolute saint. But the books contain a lot of morally gray black ops. The main characters start by selling weapons to anti-Arbiter rebels to destabilize Sanghelios. ONI also develops grains that give Elites diarrhea, which leads to Jul M'damas vendetta against humanity.

And for reference, even the Nordic countries most of you are so fond of have capitalism as a base. It's the most hands free, and the most proven to work. It just needs some extra social programs to bring the people in the bottom up which countries are already working on doing.
The Nordic countries are slowly dismantling their own social programs to increase private profits. And installing programs like healthcare is impossible in countries like the US because it would reduce the profits of health insurers. The Nordic welfare state is as good as capitalism can get, but it won't last forever and it's not possible in every country.

The August 1996 Battle of Grozny is up there. A Chechen force outnumbered 8:1 infiltrated the city, took control of key infrastructure, and surrounded most of the Russian strongpoints in the city. Their force rapidly grew from turncoats and recruitment, and they fended off several armored relief columns with stolen rocket launchers. In truly classic fashion, the Russian forces outside the city counter-surrounded the Chechens and threatened total annihilation. However, at that point Russia's strategic situation was so poor their general was willing to negotiate a ceasefire, which led to a peace treaty. It was a stunning decisive victory on every level.

The territory was lost in WW2 when they were part of the Nazi-sided Ottomans, and that new territory was granted to the Jews to make up for all the harm that was caused by the Axis.
Britain took Israel from the Ottomans in WW1, not WW2. The Balfour declaration was also made in 1917. The Nazi's didn't even exist back then.

Just as Israel was taken from the Jews millenia ago, Palestine was taken from the Palestinians back then. If Palestine has a legitimate claim to the region, then so did the United Kingdom, and so had every right to give it back to the Jews.
So might makes right? The romans persecuting Jews centuries ago doesn't give the Jews a right to persecute Palestinian Arabs today. Even if we assume the British Empire has a right to conquer territory by military might, it doesn't give them the right to ethnically cleanse their conquests.

Akinator's algorithm has gotten a lot worse recently. It doesn't seem to use any kind of sensible binary search algorithm anymore. When I try to make it guess an anime girl, it asks "does your character have X colored hair" for every color, one by one. It also keeps asking nonsensical questions like "is your character affiliated with Faze clan".

Akinator used to be quite effective, but nowadays it feels almost useless.

When I first heard of ASMR over a decade ago it was audio designed to make you feel like you were somewhere. One I listened to was supposed to be a virtual barber trip, with sounds coming from left and right as if you were in the chair. Was kinda neat.

Now, ASMR has been watered down to just people talking gently into microphones. Pass.
That was never ASMR. That was just binaural audio.

ASMR was originally particular noises designed to stimulate a certain tingly feeling in the spine. But when the term went mainstream, it grew to encompass all audio experiences, from audio-only porn to the barbershop illusion. Now it's basically meaningless.

the logic is that the kids are learning how to figure out HOW to figure out the nature of the puzzle. Since the outputs display exponential growth then the quadratic formula is a good place to start
Exponential growth by definition is way faster than quadratic growth. So the very fast growth of the values suggests that a quadratic polynomial is not the solution. And if you choose to calculate the quadratic anyway (remember that you can do it for any set of values) you get the rather inelegant f(x) = 20x^2 -55x + 40, which suggests that it's not the intended solution.

"Ice melts, so that means more land, right?"

Yes sir, that's literally all there is to it! Nevermind where all that meltwater goes. It either flows into the sea or evaporates into the sky and just magically disappears.
The main threat isn't really sea level rise. It's higher temperatures making the hottest areas unlivable, and making crop yields in current agricultural areas worse due to heat/drought. Even if new farmland appears in the north, a mass migration is needed. And Trump supporters love migrations, right?

Plus it acts as a transfer of money from the work-at-home middle class to the corona-unemployed poor people.
