It was a tough choice, but I kept it this way because wedges have that sweet potato-to-skin ratio. Waffles can only offer some of that, though they get bonus points for condiment dispersal.

I haven't met the "terrible fanbase" besides the references and memes on Reddit.

It's deeper than a lot of adult animation, but it's nothing prophetic. Its message is just accessible because of the si-fi and fantasy elements and toilet humor.

you would tell the car where you want to go and when to stop. you just input your destination and relax. you could even sleep. but if your awake and you see a place you want to pull over, you can tell the car to do that.

The other issue is ensuring precision in the car's navigation system. Addresses can change, new roads can be built and old ones can be demolished. There are small roads that don't show up on a current GPS.

While I'm all for the progression of technology, the push for automation in vehicles is a bit daunting to me.

What a lot of us fear is the idea that the machine will make a mistake and we won't have the know-how to correct it, which could put us in danger. Now, from the sounds of things these cars are way less accident prone (which is their purpose), but that would only really work out in a system entirely occupied by driverless cars. Combining the two can lead to issues with determining intent for one or both drivers.

We also value the personal freedom that comes from driving. Getting to choose our speed, getting to make impulsive stops for food or rest, and so on. There cars, by design, will always go for the most efficient routes. We as people want efficiency (since we complain so much about traffic), but it feels like personal freedom in operating the car isn't worth that.

I'm just not certain that the world is ready for them. Affording driverless cars their own infrastructure would be costly, and having both types on the road would lead to accidents because of the inability to percieve driver intent.
