Nintendo tried with Pokemon, but they don't care about that anymore. They never go after Pokemon 34 artists (With the one exception being that doujin where Ash turns into a werewolf and rapes Pikachu). About the only company that still actively tries is Dinsey Nintendo supposedly bought the rights to a Mario porn parody in the early 90s so no more copies would be sold. Don't know if this is an urban legend or if it is actually true. Because of the Internet, there is no way that strategy would be even remotely possible nowadays without Nintendo going bankrupt (and it would probably encourage more people to create art or make porn parodies so Nintendo would pay them). --- We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV!

Hopefully a good writer comes along and does away with his fucking train wreck. I wouldn't really say "canon" being destroyed is the issue, Doctor Who is always changing what is "canon". This is kind of unavoidable with a 60 year old show that deals with time travel. The big problem I have with it is the Doctor is no longer just some dude who stole a Time Machine and decided eventually he should try to do good in the galaxy after seeing it. YellowSUV 07/26/21 12:50:22 AM #28	I think another reason why Chrono Trigger is so well liked is that it doesn't drag on. It is set in a bunch of different set pieces by different timelines to keep things fresh. It is also only about a 25 hour game. Compare this to Like a Dragon, which I enjoyed very much till I got worn out and just dropped the game after about 50 hours. It is not just combat issues, but story pacing issues too.... The game builds up the big Yakuza gangs disbanding in what seems like a big climatic finale of the game. However, the game then gets bogged down you fighting the remnants of the Yakuza gangs. If this was dealt with in a short epilogue, I think it would work fine but it just goes on and on.... I finally dropped the game after it was revelead the main character and the remaining villain unknowingly had a very intertwined early life that was so melodramatic that a soap opera would blush. Despite all this I may return to finishing the game later, but I was burnt out when I quit. --- We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV!

They may not make as much in regular subscription money nowadays, but they get a ton of money from micro transactions.
