Im pretty sure the Tampa Bay Rays dropped the Devil part out of their name because of pressure from religious whack jobs.

On Around the Horn the other day, Sarah Spain was claiming the name was changed to Guardians because it has the same last five letters as Indians so the protesting parties could easily alter any new merch. That being said, it was coming from Sarah Spain, by far the most abrasive analyst on ESPN, the show is unwatchable when she is on, I swear Tony Reali is fucking her on the low with how often she wins on that show.

As a lifetime fan of Duke Basketball, one would be insane to recommend a change to the best program of the past 30 years. I live in Florida, and remember stories about people celebrating the exorcism of Satan from the Tampa team, perhaps those were just reactions after the fact, nobody paid any attention to that bottom dwelling team at the time. They still have the worst stadium in American professional sports.

I actually hadn't heard the new name until I saw it mentioned in a Babylon Bee (they're awesome btw) article, so I looked it up and saw the article complaining about the new name.

Doesn't really work for cities like Chicago that have 2 baseball teams (Cubs/White Sox)

Im just getting tired of it in games, I dont wanna play indie stuff because everything triple A eventually becomes watered down drivel.

...but an attitude that has long annoyed me online is becoming a lot more prevalent in real life.

Which is ironic since Nintendo especially is far less censorship-crazy than they were back in the 80s/90s

They even have Bayonetta in SSB. A game where characters regularly say "fuck" and "shit" and the protagonist becomes semi-nude during her attacks.
