Allegations of sexual assault at blizzard hq, I think a female dev took her own life as well with a major reason being the sexist and toxic culture at blizzard

the state did a 2 year investigation and as a result of the investigation I believe the state themselves are suing blizzard

It's not dead. WoW still has plenty of whales and people who are just straight up addicted to the game to keep making stupid amounts of money. The lawsuit is bad PR now - but it will blow over and most WoW players who remain probably don't give a fuck (just check the official forums). I doubt WoW will ever reach the heights it once did and it probably won't ever be a good mmo again, but ActiBlizz knows how to squeeze every penny out of a captured player base.

I wouldnt be so sure. The circle of players who will never consider another MMO is smaller than you think. Asmongold has proven this
I think the most happy players right now are hardcore raiders, and even they arent really happy. And thats a very small group

Blizzard is now a whale hunting company. After the Hong Kong incident, they accelerated their plan to focus on addicted whales. They may not make as much in regular subscription money nowadays, but they get a ton of money from micro transactions.

Also fun fact: Blizzard was one of the few video game companies that saw their active playerbase GO DOWN during the pandemic.

Eh Asmon has played different games and mmos before so I don't think him playing FF14 is that big of deal. Until ActiBlizz starts losing their whales I think they'll keep shitting out expansions and patches.

Shadowlands is a really cool idea but.... yea. The game is fucked
