Honorable Mention: Inchie
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/4/4/AAQcMAAAEFVs.png
When Roz'etta was a child, she had a pet Titan nitrogen-worm. His name was Inchie, and they loved each other very much.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/4/5/AAQcMAAAEFVt.png
The little girl took good care of her pet, making sure he was well-behaved and ate well, but not too much to get sick. They were friends for years, including in scenes we got to see when, through magic machinations, we were able to see a piece of the past and thus witness a little girl and her pet interact.

Then Inchie got old and had to be released into the wild to end his lifecycle with his kind. That is how the story of Inchie ended.

Until we stepped foot on the planet Graxos IV, where it was being terrorized by horrifying beasts.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/4/6/AAQcMAAAEFVu.jpg
These may look like beasts to you, but to Roz'etta, they are like Inchie, but bigger. Much, much, much bigger. Graxos IV used to be a rainforest planet, but these worms turned it into a deserted wasteland. Thus a mystery opened up, how did these worms get to Graxos IV, and how did they come to grow so large? And is what moved these worms a threat to the safety of Saturn?

Roz'etta has now done something maybe scar never expected, and has hired the investigation team of Star Hawkins and Ilda to dive into this mystery. You never know what you'll find if you overturn every stone in this campaign, and I am eager to hear what led these worms from the moons of Saturn to become planet destroyers.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/4/4/AAQcMAAAEFVs.png
Now Inchie, don't destroy planets, or you won't have any room left for your dinner!

Honorable Mention: Codpiece
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/8/6/AAQcMAAAEDJu.png
To the other players in this campaign, I am sorry. Also to the other players in this campaign, you can kiss my ass. In Tampa, in the session with the Lono/ladder event mentioned above, multiple mercenaries were going after Lono. Some of them were immensely powerful, some quick to aggression, some very gifted. And then there was Codpiece, a man wielding a...well, weaponized codpiece. Scar has many great voices, but one of his best is the 'completely out of his depth' goober voice. And Codpiece was very, very, very much out of his depth. Roz'etta shapeshifted into one of his troop, and from the very moment he spoke, it was clear how much Codpiece wasn't going to be a threat to Lono.

...Of course, Roz'etta's teammates didn't see it that way, so they nearly killed him. Only though Roz'etta demanding Spirit save him to Codpiece survive.

...Then Lono shot Codpiece, and Roz'etta needed to, this time, look sad at Spirit to get him to save Codpiece.

Roz'etta took a hardline stance. Against the party, and against Lono.

Over Codpiece.

Everything thought Roz'etta was just being weird, and truthfully in the moment I just wanted to keep him alive because I thought he could be a valuable asset for information and such, and also because he was almost too pathetic to die. After the fact I thought about how in Central City, the Rogues (Captain Cold and many other Flash villains) took out the original Furies there, resulting in the team of Wonder Woman, Batwoman, Catwoman (we currently believe this is Holly Robinson, Selina is a Fury in Star City), and Giganta replacing them. If Codpiece were killed, someone would take his place. Someone capable, competent. So thus the idea struck me, that the reason to keep Codpiece alive is that being the sole survivor of Lono's rampage is a reputation booster. And if Codpiece were to get a promotion of some sort, his utter inability to do anything would provide a perfect place to attack when the time to take out the Tampa Society comes.

I don't know if it will play out, but Codpiece welcomes a very unique take on the Society, giving them the opportunity to make a mistake. Time will tell if the Society takes the bait.

Yay! Lono was a real stand out to me in Ermine's topic.

He really is a stand out, he was close to ranking in the top 52. And trying to play characters as though they're people as opposed to, well, characters in an action movie makes Lono so uneasy to be around sometimes. Rampages are a lot more fun to witness in a movie than they are when you're playing a character who is supposed to be somewhat reasonable and then here's Lono!

I'm not even sure if comparing Lono to action movies is even remotely fair, but it just feels right, and when you're working with Lono, you don't often get time to think. Gotta act fast!

Honorable Mention: Lono
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/9/3/AAAe4tAADosF.png
Hailing from Tampa Bay, Lono is, in terms of presentation, every chaotic action movie star. This isn't to say he's actually a movie star, but to get a feel for how he is, picture how at the end of the day, action stars do nothing quiet. Everything is loud, everything is big, from car chases to exploding TV stations to the sorts of rampages only seen in action films to dramatic escapes via boat. Lono has the subtlety of a truck, and that makes him so much pure fun to be around. Where Lono goes, action is sure to follow. And as public enemy #1 of the Society in Tampa, Lono was a natural ally, and his connection to the mysterious forces controlling the world only makes him more intriguing. It was from him that we learned Max Lord was the Black King of Checkmate, and that the belief outside Antarctica is that Amanda Waller was dead, and it will be through him that we make connections to The Trust, a group of families that financially have dominated the world for ages.

Of course, he also has the other half of the loud action star, which is that he is open about when he is observing things. He flirted with Roz'etta, found out she was gay, and...he sounded largely cool with that, although whether or not he was being playful with his new friend or really thinking he still had a chance was up for debate. This came to a bit of a head when, as part of Lono's escape to Miami, Roz'etta turned into a ladder to help the others climb down to a waiting motorboat. Lono got caught staring very closely at her as he was climbing down. He would get told to quit it, only to blurt out that he was reading the production information on the Roz'etta ladder. This sounds like an excuse, this should be an excuse, but everyone gathered around and would see that, yes, as part of her ladder disguise Roz'etta the engineer did include those details. One of the funniest moments of the campaign, because everything about Lono seemed dirty and illegitimate while claiming he wasn't, and built to a point where Lono was, in fact, just observing a shapeshifter's details up close.

I know scar wants us to return to Miami soon, to get more Lono, and personally I'm feeling the Lono itch from this write-up as well.

Honorable Mention: Breach
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/3/0/AAQcMAAAD-uC.jpg

Breach is many things. Soldier, superhero. But what he is also is a target. Specifically he, Nightshade, Lady Quark, and The Ray are targets of Darkseid. Darkseid wants these four because, in some way, they can help him convert other worlds into armies of Parademons, like what happened to K'Ray.

Roz'etta has taken it upon herself to connect to Breach, whom the field teams found in the bowels of Area 51. From him, she learned that Breach had been captured by Prometheus at the Battle of Metropolis, but specifically not sent to Darkseid. Why would Prometheus do this? What is his game? I'm not sure, but I am curious about it, even if the most recent opportunity to ask Prometheus of his motives wasn't quite the right circumstances to question his reasons.

Of course, that's Breach's story, but what makes Breach special isn't his story, it's that despite the costume, he is a soldier through and through. This is a man who knows how to fight, wants to fight, but due to the fact that he is near the top of Darkseid's Christmas Wishlist, the best thing Breach can do for his cause is nothing. He can't have his blood studied for connections to other worlds, as his suit breaking would unleash his energy. He can't fight, as bringing attention to him would be far worse than anything we can gain from his appearance. And for that, he suffers. He's such a genuine, respectable hero, who just wants to help in some way.

But he can't. Not yet. For some heroes, being told you're ordered to stand down is something to naturally fight against. Tommy Jagger and Fire are two of the ones who hate being shelved. Breach, the loyal and dutiful soldier, knows orders are orders for a reason.

It's really just a sad story, Breach is. But I'm also excited for when he's finally able to let go in the field.

Honorable Mention: Ferdinand
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/2/9/AAblU3AADyDF.png
Time to talk about the beloved Kithotaur (NOT a Minotaur), Wonder Woman's chef, Ferdinand. Ferdinand did not exactly make the best first impression on Roz'etta, attacking her in the basement of Gateway City's Themysciran Embassy and holding her face just above a hot stove due to her being Martian. Once misunderstandings were taken care of, and Roz'etta being a bit more annoyed at her teammates than at the Kithotaur, he was recruited to join us as our chef, becoming a bit of a rival, and perhaps a bit of a mentor, to Lush, and a friendly big guy who actively wanted to avoid fights for Data 7.

Ferdinand and Roz'etta's interactions would take a bit of a backseat, with the two rarely talking to each other, until the time came for them to seek out the island Themyscira, where we would find the aftermath of OMAC assaults on the city. The gods had left, and many, many corpses were left behind. Among the dead was Ferdinand's brother Rhython, and Roz'etta would speak a prayer of mourning for the fallen. It was the wrong one, but Ferdinand, as his general good-natured self, understood the meaning behind Roz'etta's attempt, and respected it, was grateful for it. It was a vulnerable moment for the big lovable lug, and afterwards, back in Z'onn Z'orr, he recommended Roz'etta become a Tafikoi, one who in the words of the Kithotaur carries out tasks the grieving cannot. So he asked Roz'etta to carry out such a task, one that he felt neither Lush nor Data 7 could understand the gravity of, to go Greece and find a single copper coin, for Rhython to pay the ferry man to cross into the afterlife.

Ferdinand carries himself as so powerful, so angry, and what makes him so special is that he's anything but. He prideful, but he hates fighting, he's gentle, and he's far from a Greek god. He's just a friend of Diana's dragged into a hellish world, and while his burst of air from his nose are loud, his ways of expressing his gratitude are often muted. It speaks to how great he is that he can be a well-known charming sweetheart early on in the campaign, and still have his moments to shine bright well into the campaign. Now to get to Greece, and then to Kithira.

Edit: Oh, and Faerdinand might be my favorite Saoirse-ism.

Honorable Mention: Ace Morgan
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/0/1/AAQcMAAAD6UV.jpg

This is more of a spot for his entire group, but of the Challengers of the Unknown, I find the pilot, Ace Morgan, the most amusing. For those who don't know, the Challengers of the Unknown are often considered the inspiration for the Fantastic Four. When I think of the Fantastic Four, one of the first things that come to mind is arguing. I'm not even sure the Fantastic Four argue more than any other superteam, but for some reason I just think of them arguing. So of course, the big thing that defines the Challengers is arguing, and it's so charming. These are four investigators, Ace Morgan, Red Ryan, Prof Haley, and June Robbins. All extremely intelligent people, and all with very strong theories on whatever is being argued about.

And that's how it is, whenever you enter their quarters, you will walk into the middle of some argument about what mystery has drawn their attention today. Their current mystery are cities seemingly popping up out of nowhere, Roadtown, Townsville, Coolsville. What are these cities, why do they have no people? Why are they built with great detail, but also completely lacking in detail? Ace and Prof are the two most likely to butt heads on theories, Red, the driver, and Ace are most likely to butt heads on transportation, while June feels most likely to insert herself into arguments rather than start them, armed with logic based on where theories will lead to. It's such great team chemistry and they just feel like they've been teammates forever, having variations of these arguments for decades. And Roz'etta, who loves asking questions and throwing out her theories herself, fits right in, taking a seat and coming along for the ride. Just a fantastic group of four, the Challengers are.

Honorable Mention: Superman Robot
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/3/8/AAQcMAAAD37y.jpg
In Leesburg, a field team found five robots made by Superman, meant to be duplicates of various heroes. Superboy Robot, Jimmy Olsen Robot, Supergirl Robot, and Batman Robot were four of them, and all of them have their eccentricities. Supergirl Robot must stop the Crisis and is bad at making pancakes. Superboy Robot is the most Innocent Farmboy that ever Farmboyed. Jimmy Olsen Robot is currently trying to turn the Flash Museum into a tribute to Superman, the real fastest man alive. And Batman Robot would only say "I! Am! Activated!" before his untimely demise. All absolutely endearing robots. All complete farces, in such wonderful ways.

Except for the fifth of their number, Superman Robot. Superman Robot is dark, brooding, quiet. He finds places as far away from everyone else possible to settle in. This is because inside Superman Robot's mind is a protocol called Graduation Day, wherein he is supposed to hunt and kill some young superheroes. I've only had one interaction with Superman Robot, but he is an exploration of Superman himself. What if Superman was unable to control himself, if he knew he was set to go after the hero community? I've always personally felt that the most important part of Superman is that he's also Clark Kent. Superman Robot is, in a way, Superman without Clark Kent. He's still heroic, but...different. He's not truly Superman. The weight of being like Superman feels like it drags him down, a weight only slightly lifted by learning that another member of the Heavy Metal League, Wonder Woman Robot, was found, alive and well.

Also there are a whole lot of contradictions in Supergirl Robot's programming, from when the Crisis happened to her very existence, so I'm looking forward to more talks between Roz'etta and Superman Robot, as they both hover over the cold, empty expanse of Antarctica.

I have to put it in here that Roz'etta discussed some of these contradictions with Oracle, notably that Supergirl Robot's hair and costume does not remotely match the Kara that she is meant to impersonate, and at no point did either bring up the obvious possibility that Superman got a detail wrong in the robot designed to look like his cousin. Because come on, he's Superman. Sometimes it's just the smallest things that show the respect the biggest names carry.

Honorable Mention: Deadshot (Floyd Lawton)
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/6/2/0/AAAe4tAADqxU.jpg
Deadshot's complicated. He's a lot more complicated than in campaign 1, where it was easy to keep him at arm's length and his only goal was seeing his daughter Zoe survive. Here, he's a member of the Secret Six, and that draws him into a lot of things he may be better off avoiding.

I've gone over Catman's struggles and suffering from Deadshot's actions, and Hector's cruel forgiveness of Deadshot, and now Deadshot has been left with something he rarely has about his kills, regret and a desire to make right what he has done.

However, what I'll mostly provide for you about Deadshot is a small little thing that helped him be a bit special to Roz'etta. In campaign 1, after Tali and Roz'etta's love was sacrificed to the Patchwork, Tali found comfort in the arms, and bed, of one Floyd Lawton. Enter campaign 2, and Roz'etta and Deadshot now find themselves part of the same resistance, both connected to Amanda Waller. This led to one complex situation in particular. Ragdoll wanted K'Ray to join the Secret Six. Waller was willing to agree, but only if the Secret Six agreed to have the Parademon wea a Suicide Squad-esque bomb collar. Deadshot in particular was the one Six member with a painful history with these collars, and it fell upon Roz'etta to make the request.

This led to two of Tali's former lovers finally having to address the elephant in the room. Deadshot thought Roz'etta brought this to him as some sort of revenge, a twisted means to get back at him for stealing Tali from her. As a player, this let me fully explore what the sacrifice meant to Roz'etta in the long term. The answer to that ultimately is that the short period where Tali and Roz'etta were together became a distant memory, and a memory with no strong emotions behind it isn't the sort of thing to drive someone. So Roz'etta doesn't feel jealous of Deadshot, even though maybe she should, because she's incapable of it. As far as Roz'etta's emotions are concerned, Deadshot was the lover of one of her friends, and that's not something to hold a grudge over. Deadshot came to the realization that Roz'etta has a death wish, and in a small way, she does. The Roz'etta that was Tali's lover, the Roz'etta that existed in Deadshot's mind, was dead. She died in the Patchwork, and what's left is the person who survived, and the person who survived is content to let that piece of her past stay dead.

Of course H'san Natall informed Roz'etta that Tali's alive, and the last time Tali was thought to be dead but lived she awoke with her memories completely messed up and that is something Roz'etta, Deadshot, and Fire are all going to have to manage together, despite the latter two really not wanting much to do with each other. So that's definitely not going to be a problem later on.

Besides, Deadshot has a more immediate problem, which is that he is a very overprotective daddy, for his little Zoe is growing up, and her best friend is a boy, and that boy is Spirit, who Deadshot actually likes so it's not like he can handle this problem with a bullet.

Deadshot tries really, really hard to do just enough right, everything he does makes perfect sense in his mind, he can clearly connect point A (The Society will kill Catman and his pride unless Catman joins the Society) all the way to point Z (If Deadshot kills Catman's pride and pins the blame on Deathstroke, Catman will find a reason to live instead of getting himself killed), and there's a level of sympathy to him, but the tragedy of him is that he's terrible at everything he does that isn't pulling a trigger, when I think more often than not he wishes he had even a fraction of that competence in doing anything else.

Also Deadshot talked to Susie about how children function best in two-parent households, which is extremely funny given that it led to Susie trying to find Roz'etta the best woman to be with possible, and sad because you know the family Deadshot is going after most with that statement is the Lawtons.

Honorable Mention: Olapet
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/9/5/5/AAQcMAAADzZb.jpg
This is a major recency pick, especially since Olapet has only had one scene period, but I don't care. Roz'etta met Olapet when she was guarding the Green Lantern Power Battery, and it did not start off well. Olapet's job was to guard the Power Battery (and Kyle Rayner who is asleep within), and those of Martian blood like Roz'etta are especially suspicious. One way Roz'etta usually handles suspicion is with trying to be friendly, and Olapet's fronds draw people into an immense sense of comfort. So Roz'etta was especially encouraged to be friendly, but as it turns out Olapet is an extremely serious Lantern, at least on the job. Thus Roz'etta's attempts to be friendly with this person who was making her feel especially like being friendly were mostly met with doubt of her seriousness and made Roz'etta look like a total buffoon.

Once Roz'etta's business with Kyle Rayner was done, however, and she managed to get a reaction out of his body, no small feat, Olapet was slightly more...friendly is the wrong term, but perhaps more accepting of Roz'etta attempts to be friendly. As it turns out, Olapet is thousands of years old, and many of those were spent meditating to learn the ability to bring comfort to others through simple touches.

One of the real shining marks of the Green Lantern Corps is alien diversity all the way down to appearance, as opposed to just being 'human with weird ears' (looking at you, Spock!), 'human with weird forehead' (looking at you, Bortus!), or 'human with red skin (looking at you, Roz'etta!), even if all those characters are great! Olapet's appearance, combined with her abilities and personality that feels like a contradiction really sell that she's from an entire world altogether. I have absolutely no read on her, and I don't expect that to change any time soon.

Honorable Mention: Veridium (David Magnus)
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/1/8/8/AAQcMAAADxQc.jpg

We met Veridium after the gauntlet of Hoboken, where we had to fight through the entire Metal Men team under the control of L-Ron, whom you might have learned about from other lists. But at the bottom came one of the greatest introductions of the campaign. At the bottom of the gauntlet, after taking out the entire team, including Platinum and Tin whom Spirit and Roz'etta became friends with during campaign 1, L-Ron had one more Metal Man to crush us, Veridium. We didn't have the strength to fight one more Metal Man, we were running on fumes. Luckily, this Metal Man instead knocked out L-Ron, for this was no mindless superhero, this was David Magnus, brother and enemy of the man who made the Metal Men, Will Magnus.

The Metal Men are still unconscious, for they lack their responsometers, the devices that give them personality, something that, despite Veridium's expertise on robotics, is beyond all but his brother. So the Metal Men lie in wait for their master to be rescued from Oolong Island, while Veridium...stews, smoking from his pipe as he checks on the various robots gathering in his annex, and serves as a bit of a mentor in the art of robotics for Roz'etta. And he makes an interesting mentor, because he is utterly unapologetic, both about what he does know, and what he doesn't.

It's always curious to get the perception of a hero team from the perspective of their villain, and Veridium's view is especially layered. He's analytical of the Metal Men, but even seems to hold a level of respect for them and their flaws, like Tin's stuttering and terrible joints. He's incredibly accepting of them. Perhaps this is because his anger is left for Will Magnus. He sees Will as someone who only cares for knowledge, and one who was the favored child growing up. Every talk of the Metal Men is built on a bit of jealousy for Will, a bit of anger at Will, and a bit of sympathy for the Metal Men, even using his immense knowledge of how to defeat the Metal Men as a means to protect them.

It's hard to tell if he would genuinely care for the Metal Men were he in Will's shoes, or if his perspective is warped from his view of his brother, or if his care and sympathy for the Metal Men is out of spite for Will, a desire to show himself superior to his brother in the way of robotics in some way. It's an interesting family dynamic the battle of the Magnuses have going, and of the 9 people involved in the situation, only one of them has any way to express anything right now. But Veridium has enough personality and pure presence for all of them, and all it starts with him pulling out his pipe, ready to teach a red alien who thinks she knows a thing or two about robotics how little she really gets.

This sounds like it will be Rosetta's #1#1

This is possible, in our last session Roz'etta used mathematical proofs to convince giant clockmen that wanted to destroy everything to destroy themselves for the sake of their goal.

I don't think we actually got her last place Green Lantern, just that Mogo was second to last.

Honorable Mention: Miri Riam
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/9/2/AAQcMAAADvKI.png
I've talked for a bit in a certain ring's write-up about the Star Sapphires, but here is one of them. If I could use one word to describe Miri Riam, it's addictive. When you think of the positives of a Star Sapphire, this is her. Her obsession with love is absolutely adorable, as she ranks them by how much she loves the Green Lanterns. First is Kyle Rayner, followed by Guy Gardner, then John Stewart, then Hal Jordan, then the squirrel-like Ch'p, with Mogo second last because he is so big. She's just so bubbly and cheery that we can't help but love her back, especially as she takes excited curiosity with everything involved in Sol, from New York City to Booster Gold to Roz'etta's skin to a bag of potato chips. Even if she doesn't realize you're supposed to open the bag and not eat it too.

But it's never so straight-forward, as that list above, with Kyle Rayner at the top? Kyle was placed there, he isn't there by Miri'ss choice. Miri most certainly loves Guy Gardner above all else, and surely holds some love for Kyle Rayner, but her command from the Star Sapphire Corps is to love Kyle Rayner most, and so he is her #1 #1. I think we all want to see Miri and Guy together, if only because their meeting will be very funny, but that pesky Corps policy says she needs to be with Kyle, not Guy. Miri answers the question of 'what if a Star Sapphire loves a Green Lantern most who isn't the Green Lantern they're supposed to pair with?' That answer is, of course, 'Too bad.'.

so speaking of waiting to get traction, let's play alternate reality: if Ramza's sniped out on Day 57 rather than iron manning it, does the focus shift to Algus, Delita, or just kind of hover either-or and go with the one that outlasts (which ended up being Delita in our prime timeline?)

Ah now I'm thinking of Aerith/Delita finals as a battle of the most recent runner-ups, hmmm....

It's weird because a piece of Ramza's run was picking up the Dad support, which gave him time to pick up Emet-Selch's support.

With Ramza out, VI probably focuses more on the Dads, so my guess is that Dad finishes a couple spots higher, possibly even top ten, as the big change, instead of FFT hitting a final, and one of his other high priorities picks up me and gravy when Dad drops.

On an Easter Sunday many years ago, Ramza was supposed to continue a deep run, and instead went out, and I asked his followers if they were choosing to blame God over themselves.

How times change.
