Another friend from Opal!

This one I have slightly more ties to due to his past interactions with Artemis, but also due to his connection with the Freedom Fighters, back when I was on the quest to help Tom, Rex and Danny out at the poisoned Fountain of Youth.

Black Condor in general isn't exactly an Ermine character. There's no bursting personality or quirks that would make him stand out compared to others, but I appreciate the history behind the character none the less, and what he's done for Data 7 thus far.

He also came along to Taos with us when Data 7 was looking for Patch!

I specifically remember commenting that there was a chance there was an evil Black Condor going around causing problems due to the explanations we were hearing from the current residents... and I brought this fact up and everyone looked at me like I was an idiot... BUT THEN LITERALLY 20 MINUTES LATER, the fake Black Condor shows up and the real one fights with him.

I was furious. But then it was okay because we found Patch quickly after.

We still have to return to Taos. There's two ways we can go in deciding how to deal with it, and I'm sure Black Condor will want to be there for it and have a hand in how it all goes down.

I think the problem is if we remove the society presence, they'll just send something worse. So it's like, big sad.

I think DATA 7 and Black Condor get along pretty well, though with Data 7 being a bit more like Artemis these days, I think their days of serious, no-nonsense talks may be over, or at least, much less frequent. Still, I enjoy what he brings to the table and am always curious what he's up to, and the history that he's attached to.

I do miss Black Condor's more increased role in the campaign. The exploration of Native American subculture in the DC version of the United States was a lot of fun. I hope we still see some Data 7 from time to time in ZZ!

This has to be Foal Fruntell. No doubt about it.

Our resident Unicorn. We met this fellow out in Skartaris and I think everyone was on board with bringing back a Unicorn... even though he definitely wasn't your typical Unicorn.

Clumsy, gullible, easily pleased. These are terms you'd associate with Foal and that's okay. I mean, almost right away you had us convincing him that we needed his blood, and Lush right away taking a drink of it.

DON'T DRINK THE UNICORN BLOOD!

Not that we didn't need his blood... there was a tournament that we needed to enter and unicorn blood was the fee.

Once that was all settled away though, we had Foal brought back to Z'onn Z'orr and set him up in the Spring. Brennus and Foal make a pretty good combo as they are FAIRLY similar. There's definite differences between the two. One being Foal LOVES Dandelions, and Brennus does not.

Though one could argue that dandelions and cheetos are similar.

Either way, Foal CAN speak english so it allows other PCs to be able to interact normally with him, and that's always a plus. Meanwhile Data 7 is always looking for ways to mess around with him. Frequently he's been his go to punching bag whenever Lena the Lemur pisses Data 7 off. He won't actually do any DAMAGE to Foal himself, but it definitely helps him to let some steam off after Lena ruins his life.

Foal doesn't understand what's going on half the time when Data 7 comes to him in a huff, picking fights with him, but that's half the fun.

Also, look out for his horn, there is a high chance he'll accidentally skewer you with it.

I'm glad Foal ranks for you; he was among the animals that I thought might not make this list. I am thoroughly surprised by his topping of Rover and Starro. I bet there's recency bias there.

I'm wondering if this is a lower level Lantern of some sort given the hint. Maybe Greet... but I'll guess Kilowog.

I gotta say, I'm definitely a fan of Foal Fruntell.

HOW 'BOUT SOME TRAININ'?

Yes please!

Kilowog was a bit of a surprise for me. I wasn't quite sold on him at the start, but he's been a lot of fun over the last few months since we arrived at Oa. Between always asking if we're down for training, which Data 7 is, and calling us a bunch of poozers, he's been a lot of fun to interact with.

He also gets bonus points for being part of the mission where we first discovered the Red Lanterns.

Rough around the edges, Kilowog is, it's always fun to go down to Oa's training facility and see/listen to him yell at and lambast bunch of the rookies.

Since we were keeping the Red Lanterns stuff a bit under wraps, we had to loop Kilowog in on this, and those discussions with him have been pretty interesting, if not a bit confusing. Trying to remember what we can and can not talk to NPCs about because they aren't "supposed" to know it. Perhaps we'll get this all cleared up soon, but I feel like tiptoeing around conversations will continue to pop up as we continue to explore space and come across more potential "allies".

One thing I found pretty interesting as well was that despite Kilowog's stature, his specialty is using his ring. I always figured he'd be way into being physical and in your face, what with his personality as well. But here we are. I did plan on talking to him about that in an earlier scene, but I think I got rushed out or he flew off before I could bring it up. Perhaps a discussion for another day.

#35: Aria

This is Aria. She is a Robot. She wants to fuck Lex Luthor. She is always making innuendos.

This is another case of, this is DEFINITELY not an ermine type of character, but the fact that she works so well with Data 7 makes it impossible not to include her on my list.

In Vegas, Data 7 and Aria didn't interact much, she was more part of Silhouette's story line (each of the PCs had a little something going on in the first couple Vegas sessions), but once we finished Vegas and got her back to Z'onn Z'orr is when that relationship started to blossom.

We have to dig a tunnel through the earth and since Data 7 can get super beeg dog, his paws were perfect for the job. And Aria was the other that would be perfect for drilling holes, because well, she has a drill arm that she can attach to also dig holes with.

The best part of this relationship is that Data 7 doesn't really GET innuendos so he just plays it super straight with her whenever she makes a dirty joke. And she's ALWAYS making them, so it's just constant back and forth of Data 7 setting her up for these jokes and then she delivers them and Data 7 is just like... yeah that checks out.

They work well together, but beyond the humor of their relationship there isn't too much as of yet. It'd be fun to see Aria interact with other PCs as well and see them fluster every time she makes some very inappropriate innuendo.

#34: Shorm

Upon getting to Oa, Data 7 started to become a bit more like Artemis again. One of his dreams was to go to Space. Rosetta was supposed to bring him there but she's a big stinky liar!

Anyways, now on Oa, Data 7 was super excited and wanted to meet all sorts of different beings and help them out. Terrans aren't well liked around Oa though so the whole ordeal is a bit of an uphill battle.

So Data 7 is doing what he knows best. Just trying to be cute and help out in seemingly meaningless ways. He doesn't know the ins and outs of Space, any of the worlds other than his own, he's not going to win them over with politics or persuasive arguments so he's just doing the best he can in his own way.

Shorm was one of the first beings Data 7 skittered off to talk to and have fun with.

Shorm is one of the couple in charge of who can go to see the Guardians, but also is very up to date with all of the happenings and goings of all the other Lanterns. He has a 'computer'? with MANY monitors and is always using all of his limbs to do his work.

A tiny Data 7 will often try and climb up these limbs as they are always moving about as they work. Shorm doesn't seem too upset by this though but will promptly place Data 7 somewhere safe as he continues his work, unbothered.

In his mission to win over the Lanterns, Data 7 is going around asking if he can help out in any ways and thus he was set upon the mission of bringing Shorm his lunch.

It went well!

Afterwards Data 7 said he'd like to help out in other ways, but we'll see if Shorm decides to take him up on the offer in the future. Either way, I have a lot of fun SORT OF messing around with him, but in general poking him for questions on Lanterns and in general getting a very unbiased opinion!

He doesn't have a personality that jumps out to you, but I appreciate his level headedness in combination with Data 7's shenanigans.

Hint for #33:

There are characters Data 7 probably shouldn't try and make friends with. This is one of them.

#33: Noosphere

Look at this friend!

Noosphere was leader of another faction that was part of Legas hootenanny. And his building is where Aria came from.

Noosphere is a robot and is VERY analytical about things. Everything is just numbers to him and despite being an enemy, he did want to assist us in our endeavor... well... as long as he got the weapon.

I think he wanted the 'weapon'? It's hard to remember, basically every faction wanted the WEAPON that was being held up.

Anyways, Noosphere was again a part of Silhouette's little quest when we all got split up. In fact, Data 7 only really had one interaction with him, the huge fight that was the last session was apparently just a fake Noosphere.

I like robots, I like animals, I like quirky, weird things. So I really wanted Data 7 to befriend THE NOOSPHERE, or at least bring him back to Z'onn Z'orr. After all, we have Mister Terrific back at base and he's ALL ABOUT SPHERES... like the T-Sphere!

But Noosphere wasn't having any of it, despite Data 7 trying to convince him over and over during the fight.

Either way, I got to have some fun anyways. The fake Noosphere was spitting out fire whenever he was being attacked so Data 7 would hold him in his maw and turn him around so that he'd be a FIRE BREATHING GIANT DOG. It was wonderful.

We have a return to Vegas and I'm curious to explore Noosphere a bit more, but I get the feeling I'm probably not supposed to try and become besties with him... maybe I should stick to other robots / AI :(...
