One of the reasons (some) people voted to remain in the UK is because they were told it was their best and only bet to stay in the EU.

But anyway don't be disappointed Scotland didn't leave the UK. "Break Free" is so stupid, it would have hurt a lot of people, really harmed Scotland economically and diplomatically for no real benefit whatsosever beyond chest thumping.

Scotland has one of the sweetest deals in the world today. They are way overrepsented in UK politics and being in the UK makes them big bucks.

Scottish independance is pretty much a religion or cult at this point. "I want it because it feels good, not because it's logical."

It utterly destroys the idea of a referendum if you just do it over and over again until you get the result you wanted.

The idea raised which is a good one is "A referendum on whether or not you support May's deal Brexit or a No Deal Brexit."

At this point the notion of a second Scottish Independance Referendum or a second Brexit referendum is a nightmarish waste of time and money that will hurt people.

It's happened, Brexit is going to occur. There's no turning back after the past several years of shitshow politics from the UK and EU.

There's literally millions of variables and laws and structures and jobs at play. You don't just flip a switch and sever all that.

You're really saying you don't comprehend why people are talking about that?

Like a few big talking points.

The boarder between Ireland and Northern Ireland. How does that work now Ireland is in the EU and Northern is not? How does travel and immigration work.

Speaking of, what happens to UK immigrants and students in Europe? What happens to Europeans and tourists in the UK?

What happens in waters which are used by the EU? They are currently shared, does the EU lose them? Does the UK? How do you decide?

How does trade work. Does the UK followed the EU's customs union or make its own system like Canada?

What about flights between European Nations and the UK. How do the companies work now. How do taxes work? Will they have to terminate employees?

If the UK leaves with no deal in place at all... What the fuck happens to literally everyone? How do you even proceed with that from an economic standpoint. It would be utter chaos and hurt everyone.

Etc etc. Those are just a few talking points. There are literally thousands.

You talk as if being in or out of the EU is like whether or not you watch an episode of the X-Files one night.

The vote wasn't what how they'd leave the EU. It was an opinion poll on whether they should.

Leave won a narrow vote but everyone who voted Leave had a different idea of the deal or lack there of on how they wanted to leave it.

A lot of them wanted to leave the EU but maintain all the benefits of being in it. And realizing that's never going to happen is a hard pill to swallow.

A lot of them wanted to leave because they thought it would give them more negoicating power in Europe if they left. Discovering it gives them much less and the EU is still in charge is a tough pill to swallow.

A lot of them wanted no deal at all and so any deal that is proposed is an instant know.

Scotland overwhelmingly wanted to remain in the EU so a lot of Scots are furious and want independence from the UK so they can remain in the EU and not be dragged down by England.

Meanwhile the half of the nation that wanted to remain (remember, the under 18s near universially wanted to remain) is pissed off about the whole thing.

Basically they wanted their cake and to eat it too.

Think of it this way: When you were a kid did you ever get mad at your parents rules? Did they beat you and make you want to run away? Did you do chores? Get told what to do? Did you have fantasies about playing all day and being responsible for yourself? Were they sometimes unfair and more generous to other siblings?

Well Brexit is like you polled a bunch of those kids about whether or not they should be allowed to run away and look after themselves.

And now the kids who said yes are concerned because it's cold, they are hungry, they are hurt and they didn't realize if they run away they have no home, no bed etc.

So it's become "I want to run away from home and eat Jello every night but my parents stil need to buy me a new home, bed and the Jello. I just don't want to have to wash dishes and let Susie get to choose what to watch on the TV!"

Two men traveling on the Ohio Turnpike say the voice of God helped spare their lives right before a semi totaled their vehicle.

Jordan Cole and Kenneth Bryant were traveling to a pastors conference, along with other men, when their MudMan Food Truck, part of a non-profit that sells hamburgers to raise money for Potters Field Ministries, broke down and led to their divine encounter.

We heard a voice, Cole told FOX 8 Cleveland, and it was to get out of the truck and I look down and I saw a semi swerving toward us. Kenneth Bryant said it was Jesus who spoke to him and his friend before a semi hit their vehicle.

They were both in different parts of the vehicle, but both felt urged to get out and did so with seconds to spare.

God kept us safe, Bryant said. God kept us alive.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said the men most likely wouldve died had they stayed in the vehicle. The truck driver survived the crash as well, suffering minor injuries.

After making it to Philadelphia, traveling to Florida, and currently in California, the men were feeding people at a church when they were able to reflect on that night. Two men were spared from what could've been a deadly highway overpass wreck.

Their journey started with a prayer in Montana and ended with a testimony the two never imagined would happen.

Weve come to the conclusion that it was Jesus, Bryant said. He allowed this to happen for me to be able to share this storyfor people to know that our Heavenly Father is mindful of us.

And in this Christmas season especially, they hope their experience inspires others.

There is a purpose for your life, you do have a reason to be living and its Gods perfect timing, Bryant added.

The Potter's Field Ministries, which helps children around the world, shared the good news that "the Lord protected the lives of everyone involved," pointing to Genesis 50:20: "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive."

I never understood why "realism" in gaming only seems to matter to people when it's about black people or women being in a game.

No one cares about realism when everyone has automatic weapons, things are exploding, armies charge across open fields. Soldiers run off by themselves and take out strongholds. People get shot, go "ow" and bandage themselves then get up and fight on.

Hell if you want real World War 1 realism then the video game (on the western Front at least) would be sitting in a trench in the cold wet mud in boredom, hunger and fear until one day an artillery shell hits you. (which killed like 80+% of casualities on the western front)

Then even if you survive you die of Spanish Flu.

No one will buy that game so they jazz it up with unrealistic nonsense. But the line is drawn at tits?

You're walking along the street one day when suddenly you don't feel right. You start to feel weary and then realize you're being abducted by aliens before you pass out.

When you come too you're in a white circular arena with one way screens on the walls. You discover the timing of your awakening is no accident as another man, a big Black British man called Wesley has been abducted with you. He has also just come too but seems to have more energy than you.

There is also a pedestal in the middle of the room with a loaded gun resting upon it.

A synthetic voice that sounds like a computerized translation of another language into yours booms through the arena saying "We are observing Chamber 37B. There is an Earth weapon in the center of this chamber. One of you must eliminate the other. Whoever succeeds will be safely returned to your planet. You must proceed immediately."

Wesley shouts "Hey! We ain't doing shit! Take me home."

The translated voice says "If you do not comply with instructions we will terminate you both and it will be extraordinary painful. There is no need for you both to expire and slowly when only one you has to end and end quickly."

Wesley says "Yo we're not gonna hurt cuz you told us to! We're not like that! Jesus ain't say that, we're not going to do nothing bruv!"

The voice says "This is your last oppotunity. It is needless for you both to perish. You have 57 of your Earth seconds to comply. One of you can still-"

Wesley interupts "I don't sweat you! I don't sweat you bruv! Do your worst! we ain't like dat!"

You then look to the right and see through a slip that next door 2 human females were in the same experimental predicament, except one is now dead on the ground and the other is holding a gun. The living one is then transported back to Earth.

You then look to the left through another slip and see another arena with the same scenario only the gun is still on the pedestal and there are two barely recognizable human corpses on the floor with expressions of utter agony on what was once their faces while steam rises from the bodies.

Wesley has his back to you as he's yelling at one of the walls.



What would you do?

Would you shoot another man in the back to survive?
Or would you refuse and then both you and he die anyway slowly in pain? Unknown and forgotten, your disapperance a mystery to your family.
