Brexit won a vote about whether or not it should happen

May then proposed a deal with the EU vs leaving the EU with no deal

And May's deal got blasted by everyone so she pulled the vote.

Apart from cancelling Brexit (I wish, but he wouldn't do that) he couldn't do anything May couldn't do. The EU have already said the withdrawal agreement is non-negotiable.

Anyone who says they can get a better withdrawal agreement is living in fantasy land or lying.

One thing the British (especially the English) fear more than anything is public loss of face/embarrassment. Basically the best thing is if the British government were to become convinced that staying in the EU is less embarrassing than a hard/no-deal brexit.

Let's see, David Cameron, Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson, Teresa May, Jeremy Corbyn, Gerard Batten, etc ALL have seen any popularity they had completely bottom out over the Brexit shit.

Is there anyone involved with it directly who HASN'T been harmed by it? What a fucking messy situation. I guess that's what happens when your whole referendum barely passes and it's constituents are a rag tag group of people from the far right to the far left that will never actually agree how to institute the process.

Who are they? There's a lot of people opposing the current deal. The people who want to cancel Brexit as they think it's economic suicide, the people who oppose it because the current deal "isn't really Brexit", the one's who think the current crap but it's still Brexit and just needs to be renegotiated.

The vote wasn't what how they'd leave the EU. It was an opinion poll on whether they should.

Leave won a narrow vote but everyone who voted Leave had a different idea of the deal or lack there of on how they wanted to leave it.

A lot of them wanted to leave the EU but maintain all the benefits of being in it. And realizing that's never going to happen is a hard pill to swallow.

A lot of them wanted to leave because they thought it would give them more negoicating power in Europe if they left. Discovering it gives them much less and the EU is still in charge is a tough pill to swallow.

A lot of them wanted no deal at all and so any deal that is proposed is an instant know.

Scotland overwhelmingly wanted to remain in the EU so a lot of Scots are furious and want independence from the UK so they can remain in the EU and not be dragged down by England.

Meanwhile the half of the nation that wanted to remain (remember, the under 18s near universially wanted to remain) is pissed off about the whole thing.

Basically they wanted their cake and to eat it too.

Think of it this way: When you were a kid did you ever get mad at your parents rules? Did they beat you and make you want to run away? Did you do chores? Get told what to do? Did you have fantasies about playing all day and being responsible for yourself? Were they sometimes unfair and more generous to other siblings?

Well Brexit is like you polled a bunch of those kids about whether or not they should be allowed to run away and look after themselves.

And now the kids who said yes are concerned because it's cold, they are hungry, they are hurt and they didn't realize if they run away they have no home, no bed etc.

So it's become "I want to run away from home and eat Jello every night but my parents stil need to buy me a new home, bed and the Jello. I just don't want to have to wash dishes and let Susie get to choose what to watch on the TV!"

Maybe because the initial vote was a bloody farce. Nobody had any idea what they were voting for.

The choices were essentially:
1. Keep things as they are.
2. Do something else. We haven't decide what yet.
