Oh yeah, additional shoutouts to 46 Okunen Monogatari, Star Breaker, AnEarth Fantasy Stories, Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke, and Device Reign (well, it's a srpg/adventure(vn) hybrid but if stuff like front mission is here then it's probably valid). a quick look at the trailers points to this being a much more concise translation. if those lines are any indication, it could well end up less than half as long as the fan translation's script, and text displays faster too. (clearly square decided they wanted to speedrun the game themselves)

really liked that loop8 game in the japanese direct i hope it gets localised

for reference, i def have about 1.5k hours in oj, and i'd confidently estimate higher for both main ps2 gran turismos. i think mkwii and brawl i both had near 1k hours and i played burnout a lot too. pokemons i think i only ever got to about 450 hours at most, but i did replay some so it could be higher

given that all 3 of the top 3 are simulation games i guess that barely edges out racing on technicality

tbh i thought stuff like dragalia and mk tour (and pokemoba) had done pretty well but i guess not

this is a fact, i don't deny sandshrew's status as also being an ekans counterpart

but on the other hand, sandshrew and pikachu (at least previously) had the same stat totals for 5 gens straight (unlike ekans) on top of their shared classification and direct proximity in the dex

sandshrew is the true gen one mouse pokemon mascot in my heart
