Changing it to an action RPG when the full remakes Square has done (FF 3 and 4) were upgraded turn based is weird and isn't an evolution, though it is somewhat expected since its Nomura. Don't pretend that if they showed off an upgraded TB trailer instead of ARPG that you would have been surprised, or that because it wasn't "exactly the same" that people would be outraged. People have the right to be disappointed just as people have the right to be excited, because at this point we have no idea whether it's going to be good or bad. All we know is that it is going to be different.

The game is factually being split into separate parts. We'd wind up paying double the price of a complete game, which is insane. Which is objectively the situation with this remake if the leaks are true.

You are buying a whole game. FF7 remake is not FF7. It is a new game that reuses the plot and characters of the original.

It is half a plot but that seems like a really irrelevant argument because you already know what the whole plot is and that doesn't change. You're paying for an interactive experience which will be provided to you complete with many hours worth of gameplay.

The sequel which finishes the plot will be released later.
