I waffled a lot on this. I kind of mailed in the build in the end because I was taking hours to piece it together and I just wanted to get it done. In the end I think I'd take pushing regal as a main event face over flipping the whole dynamic of the build but I definitely have the same reservations

I don't really think the PPV industry is dead per se. That's WWE network rhetoric getting to you. UFC and Boxing can still do decent numbers. Mayweather vs Mcgregor was in 2017 and did really well. If people want to watch something, they'll shell out. I think it's a slight factor but again not nearly as big as you're arguing there.

I do agree with all of this, but a $50 pro wrestling PPV in 2019 does stand out as an anomaly which i'm sure gave some people pause

now i don't bring this up to dunk on Lopen even further, but actually the AEW number is even more impressive when you consider that in 2019, people very much balk at the idea of $50 for a PPV. In 2008, it was the norm.

I found the wyatt-orton stuff interesting right when they started teaming but by the time orton as a rumble winner was presented it was the last thing i could imagine wanting to see. and harper had been irrelevant forever so i never bought into any tease of him being involved in the match, as much as I would be into a luke harper wwe title match plucking him out of nowhere and adding him to a wrestlemania title match wasn't going to do a lot for anyone

I was kinda hoping he'd mention some frustrations he had from before the most recent run because he clearly checked out way before then, before I'd even say he was being terribly misused (his Smackdown title reign for example)

I mean I'm sure it was much the same kinda stuff just not as hilarious but still

He touched on being brain dead by 2016 and specifically the ketchup and mustard bit which is a key point his character died!
