I also trust Moxley to be embellishing less than Punk was but yeah. Definitely found it more enjoyable though Punk's had more weird stuff in it.

It was fun but didn't really say anything I didn't expect

I was kinda hoping he'd mention some frustrations he had from before the most recent run because he clearly checked out way before then, before I'd even say he was being terribly misused (his Smackdown title reign for example)

I mean I'm sure it was much the same kinda stuff just not as hilarious but still

He touched on being brain dead by 2016 and specifically the ketchup and mustard bit which is a key point his character died!

I wonder how many more top or would be top talents WWE will lose before they try to fix these issues and actually become a better place to work.

You know that Vince or at least people connected to him are listening to this or at very least hearing about it.

Also it was really cool to hear that Moxley's promo process is essentially the same thing as what I did with e-fedding when I was into it.

The guys who are the best at this seem to be the biggest wrestling fans and I love it.

Well yeah. You can't shut your brain off. If you have something you REALLY like (I know I was like this in UCA of all things), but when I had a good line or promo idea, I could tell I was like reading/re-reading/pacing around after it was done thinking (Holy fuck!).

Moxley certainly sounds like he just wanted that to be his daily life. Whenever he went to them about it, he just got stonewalled at every turn.

Imagine how much better the product would be if you let the people who were actually performing have input and really allow them to get into their characters.

You're going to see so much more passion from that stuff in AEW.

I think the most damning this about this is that it's clear nothing will ever, ever change about this until Vince is out. The guy just doesn't get it anymore, flat out. And this entire creative process just sounds worse and worse when anyone talks about it.

But even worse is that he just can't understand why people in his company are unhappy. Like Dean and all of these other people who want to leave, and he just can't see past his own nose. It is just wild to me. He could listen to this whole thing and listen to the part where Dean was running around in a panic trying to make sure that Vince doesn't see a line about a pooper scooper because he knows he'll be coming down to the ring with one, and he'll just go "Well, he should have just done the thing and it would've gotten over!" It's unbelievable but somehow absolutely not at the same time.

And all these stupid band-aid fixes don't work. Brock getting MITB and stringing them along every week doesn't work. Then saying that the fans are going to be the authority and that the show will stop sucking doesn't work. This wildcard shit won't work. All they have are these idiotic ideas when the only idea they need to have is to overhaul the whole damn system.

This all really just makes me not want to watch WWE ever again until Vince is out of control, because it just won't ever get better. I'll miss the guys I love seeing on those shows, but I can't keep holding out hoping they won't be used poorly, then suddenly used good, because I know it won't last long at all.

Another issue with Vince is you can't really do long term storytelling that doesn't involve the very very top people.

His opinions on people moving up the card change every 5 minutes, so you can't build anyone up because they do one thing that Vince doesn't like and boom, they're not getting that huge push anymore.

I know this won't happen, but I would love to see AEW do better in the ratings out of the gate. That's the only way things might change, since Vince will try to copy what they're doing to get his ratings back up.

I mean its really not hard to just... let the talent do the angles they want to do.

Don Callis/Scott D'Amore era Impact has been run this way and the result has been a show whose strength is their long term angles and booking even if trade off is your occasional 'little kid getting shot in a driveby shooting' angle

Last wrestling show that I watched start to finish was when I watched WM33 live.

And technically I didn't watch that start to finish because I left before Reigns/Taker.

Any wrestling I consume is generally YouTube, the occasional NXT, and whenever I hear about a great match I should check out through less than legal means.

Jericho on why he left:

In 2016-2017, I think Im not being egotistical to say the best story, the best story, on that show (WWE) was the Kevin Owens-Chris Jericho saga. Teaming together, breaking up, the Festival of Friendship, the whole thing leading into WrestleMania. Now there was a point in time when the main event for WrestleMania was penciled in to be Jericho vs. Owens for the Universal title. Now. Im not going to blame Brock Lesnar or Goldberg or anything. Vince decided to change his mind and go with Goldberg vs. Lesnar for the title. Now you have the hottest story in the company with no title at stake.

The US Title: so forgotten even people holding it don't remember it.

Even with the Universal title, it doesn't main event over Brock/Goldberg (which should have closed out WM33 now that Taker didn't retire after all)

It was like the last form of long term storytelling the WWE ever did culminating in an amazing moment. The only mistake leading up to the match was the decision not to include Harper. The match itself was terrible but there was far more justification for it being a main event option than Jericho vs Owens.

I loved Jeri-KO, too, but Orton posing outside a burning shack > Festival of Friendship.

I wonder if he turned down the AEW deal cause they wanted him to tone it down (especially with the whole "we want to treat it like real combat sports" thing) and WWE just wanted to give him the Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero trainer deal.
