referring to what?

You don't even need conservatism for strong borders, wanting strong borders is common sense. However, Japan has it's issues, work culture is shit, they are worse than the US when is comes to mental health, which is entirely caused by culture as they have UHC and means to end their stigma and other issues unlike the US which is more availability and cost (no UHC here) and we are shaking off the stigma save for PTSD (which people still think is not real), there are still lingering issues concerning the Ainu, their graft is also higher than the US.

Japanese MSM is far better than the US MSM (the hate pieces are very low in Japan), although their tabloids can be quite damaging to celebs especially idols unlike TMZ which is more annoying and a nuisance.

I read an article of an interview of a guy who runs a company where you can hire someone to roleplay for you as anything. Need a "business partner" to be the fall guy and take the blame, to the point where he will be kowtowing on the ground while your boss chews him out while you stand there looking pretty, when you screw up at a company? He got you. Need a "boyfriend" for a day when you're an aging old lady and want someone to talk to? He got you (but no touching, company policy). Need a FATHER because your daughter is getting picked on for not having a dad in her life? He got you.

I'll dig up the article but it was an incredible eye opener, almost terrifying expos on how ruthless the Japanese culture is. And this isn't counting how excessive their schooling is or their NEET population.

Yeah, I like Japanese culture and its media, and would like to visit someday, but there's no way I'd ever live there. There's too many problems even for the native Japanese, let alone the foreigners, and especially Black people.

my parents lived in japan for a few years, and one of my mom's brothers married a woman from Okinawa -- japan is an archipelago, and many of the islands, including Okinawa, were colonized in a manner pretty similar to the European colonization of the Americas

No it's not.

Rural areas are probably going to be xenophobic but not everywhere is. Places like Tokyo are going to be far more accepting. While other places have a distaste for tourists that's not really a Japanese thing. Everyone has that.

I've seen Koreans hate on Japanese more. Especially in the idol industry. Hell, kpop Korean fans go on streams to actively harass and terrorize jpop idols to tears.

I think there's also a few assault cases on jpop idols in Korea.

I remember hearing that a year or more before the stuff going on now. Not sure if it was legit or what.

Kurds are a group that are present in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. There's no way the average Japanese person can tell the difference between a Kurd and a normal Erdogan loyalist and any that can probably aren't racist.

So the most likely scenario is that they just treat anyone from that area a little worse than usual and the average normal citizen probably cares nothing for the international relationship with Turkey.

This is very wrong. A. you can legally own guns in Japan for hunting or competition shooting, but the regulations and paperwork are difficult. B. airsoft requires no permits. You do need a permit for a sword but it's easy to get.
