I've never been a fan of sonic, though I have greatly enjoyed watching people play horrible sonic abominations that legitimately make 06 look like a good game.

This is easily the most tryhard character ever, a loveletter to bad fanfiction that, based purely on that intro and theme song, come the closest to actually working as a villain somehow too.

It is a perfect mixture of terrible and amazing, and I can not wait to see various lp crews deal with him.

There are so many things that could have been done. I guess it could be argued that only someone as demented as Halligan could go through with an action like that, that maybe intentionally harming yourself to void the promise would prevent it from being recognized as being broken. That still gives this game far too much credit when it deserves precisely none. And then the mistletoe happens. Like, no, that should not have been a happy ending. Or an ending. Or happened at all. Maybe it didn't happen, Serstan won and this is Halligan's mind making sense of its final dying moments. That's my new headcanon. It just makes no sense otherwise.

the 96 answer was pretty easy to logic out that is consistent with the established rules, just not the ones everyone is familiar with given the symbols.

I mean, I could type everything in a rotational cipher and being able to puzzle out a meaning from that wouldn't really mean anyone is smart, even if only a few out of a larger amount could, just that they would be able to do the pattern seeking thing that our brains are hardwired for.

The ambiguity permitting multiple answers (with varying degrees of cleverness) underscores the fundamental flaw with these sort of 'problems'. There might be a sanctioned official answer, but without more context, one might as well be playing Numberwang.

So long as the writing is there, the Doctor could be a piece of toast and it would probably still work somehow.

Beerus and Whis have been pretty consistently amazing for different reasons. They've enabled the scope to expand too, in ways that don't really annoy me. Sure, the plot that has given us a window into these other places has dragged on a bit, but the actual existence has enabled some drama beyond just 'the new big bad appeared, time to train until we can win' that so plagued what came before.

Zeno definitely isn't an ultimate limit. Up next there'd be more exploration on timelines, since let's not forget timetravel is forbidden for these gods.

Plus there's the creator of the Super Dragon Balls, Zalama, who we still know pretty much nothing about.

We don't know that for sure. But what we do know is god hairchy (so) is the top. Whether it be Zeno, Grand Priest, Zalama or Zenos family somewhere, we have absolutely reached the top.

Don't mistake a current peak for an absolute peak. The gods could be at the top in spite of or because of eliminating some greater entity. Strong beings can be made and unmade or hidden or dormant or any one of a number of excuses to promote an extension past a god hierarchy.

Burning would hurt them though, and that would be bad.

No, what really needs to happen is for them to be locked away in a soundproof room where the sounds of the tidus laughing scene is continuously pumped through. Every so often, there will be a pack of foam earbuds dropped down from holes in the ceiling at them, but they will be instructed to dodge an arbitrary amount of them, say, 300. If they ever get struck, or try to use them to dull the sound they have to start all over and prolong their captivity.

I think that is a much more reasonable proposition, no?

SovietOmega
07/14/17 1:58:02 AM

Werewolves are tied strongly to the full moon and the transformation around such time. Vampires only have to worry about it being night, and even then sometimes not depending on lore. Their transformations, while less of a spectacle, often invite more drama given how easily they can otherwise mingle.

They also have a clear named persona in Dracula. With werewolves it always just seems to be some random person.

Undoubtedly my random musings barely scratch the surface, but these are the first few things that came to mind. There's probably some cultural aspects of them being popular because they are popular going on too, as when one vampire story fades, another rises to take its place, and werewolves just don't have that momentum going for them.

It was a fun ride indeed. It was great watching the story shift in various ways, from a simple Johnny Quest spoof, to something grander in scope that also kinda became its own thing.

I can't say I enjoyed every element of the show, but even were I to take away all that I don't like, there's still quite a lot left that I do.

Like, take the issue of permanence. They could very easily revert everything to how it once was handwaving anything with magic or super science. But here, even in this most recent episode, Brock still has a metal plate over his chest. That's just part of his reality now. There are some exceptions like how Helper was able to be reverted back from being a Walking Eye, but he is himself a creation of super science, and also a robot, so that level of modification is to be expected. Ultimately, it could be said that this is a show about life, and how there are consequences for actions taken, and sometimes you just have to live with the hand that is dealt, while other times you basically win the lottery and get to live in a penthouse on top of a building you now own.

All in all, I am quite glad I decided to give the show a chance, and will eagerly await the continuation of it whenever that will be. Next year? The year after?

I don't think one episode out of dozens is gonna incite disappointment, not unless it just completely tarnishes everything great about the show.

S6ETheLastOneForNow: Red Means Stop

Ok, definitely not the usual opening scene, but even in this horror scenario there are still Venture Bros stylings. One of the captives is freaking out about the situation. The other...wants pants.

Bad news: failing marriage, hentai
Good news: council's not in a position to stop Blue Morpho antics

Red Death is the next target...and while the council might not be in action on the surface, that isn't stopping secret dealings from happening!

Red Death is also a surprisingly likable chum, considering how he looks. Does that make me racist? Do red skull people qualify as a race? Still, such instant affableness towards The Monarch is gonna make eliminating him quite the challenge.

While it is nice to see another joint venture with guild and OSI, highlighting how very similar the two organizations are, that doesn't stop them from acting like children towards each other, all but tearing their clandestine alliance apart.

Meanwhile, Red Death is pulling out all the stops to pretend like this is a show where something legit will happen.

At dinner, Rusty's got quite the grenade horror story, the ease with which his company laughs tells the viewer everything they need to know about this universe.

The guild/OSI dressed up like Venture people is a hoot. They even do the 'go team venture' sign.

It later turns into an actual party, the legit sort, not the 'im arching you, or am i' sort.

Red Death apparently sees through all, as his departure and locating of the Morpho cave and recognition of The Monarch suggests. In one episode he's basically topped out the competency scale. All while having a pretty normal family side too.

...oh, well, that explains the kidnapped supervillains. Perhaps the mother of all 'i should have suspected this in hindsight' moments. There were probably all sorts of tells throughout the season too. 21 accidentally being the most gruesome of the lot, who knew?

Classic Monarch moment too..."Why didn't you tell me we had a bathroom down here?"

So yeah, I agree, it doesn't feel much like an ending, but it now means I am current with the series. All this setup though, I bet it'll be pretty rad when season 7 rolls around. There are quite a number of places they can take this.

Gl'thaggga had just witnessed his home ravaged by this monstrous demonic power wielding angel. There were no words that could hope to express how he felt about that, so he was not even going to try. Despite all that was thrown at it, the angel was still going strong, even going so far as to deploy its wings and glow, as if everything prior had been a warm up.

It was devastating demonstration of just how precarious a position Gl'thaggga was in, for should he lash out with magical energies now that Qslvl had taken the full measure of his powers, he could end up like Short had...only a miscalculation had spared Gl'thaggga this first time. And yet...and yet...it was his only means of contributing. That, and Qslvl had gazed upon his home recognizing some level of threat from it. There had to be something he could do that could not be so easily taken.

With only brief moments to ponder, and a glimmer of reflected winglight in his eyes, Gl'thaggga settled on an idea so crazy that it would have no choice but to work. Calling upon the full extent of the energies at his command, Gl'thaggga carefully shaped and formed them, or rather, did the exact opposite of such. To the casual observer, it might look like a darkness was falling around Gl'thaggga as he casts; what better tool to unleash upon an agent of light that had so easily been thwarted by an attacker completely in the dark? And yet, darkness was still a thing, immaterial though it might be, and to rely on such a basic countermeasure would be to court the light, practically demanding to be outshone. No, what Gl'thaggga was crafting here was pure, simple, Nothing. An absolute void that should, in theory, be the antithesis to all things Angel. Let Qslvl deliver unto himself this void, it would be his undoing, for what could a being of light and creation hope to achieve in a realm where neither exist? Could an Angel in such a place even be said to be? Such were questions Gl'thaggga would save for the future, should there be a future.

Unless otherwise interrupted, Gl'thaggga unleashes his spell upon Qslvl.

alternate interpretation of this action: 'Gl'thaggga does Nothing'

S6E7: A Party for Tarzan

Sounds like a simple enough title, but considering this is the second to last episode in the season, likely deceptively so.

We're off to a solid start with 21 backstory and a brilliantly dumb plan to get a name made illegal. And oh yeah, something about Rusty getting sniped.

'My leader went to Calamity Conference, and only got his best henchman this lousy t-shirt' A bit verbose, but I like it.

So many narrated flashbacks, but filled with so much goodness. If this is this episode's gimmick then I am on board with it. Dr. Z's encounter with BM, and now Rusty talking about last week escapades condensing a season's worth of celebrity cameo in just a few moments.

The second 21 mentioned the little italian shop, several pieces clicked into place for me, and then I had to watch as the inevitable happened with Rusty. Still a great example of events driving the plot, even if it is really plot driving events under the hood.

One Chrisless party later, and the Lunar Eclipse is finally starting to happen. The drinks have been made, and the ruddy bottom has been spilled on Rusty's conveniently fitting Morpho suit, so the stage is set for the opening shot.

Naturally, thanks to cartoon logic of 'bulletproof = anything is stopped', Rusty is back on his feet in about 5 seconds. It was cute how they pulled out all the stops with the snazzy 'bullet slowdown flight with narration' bit.

Everything seems to work out in the end, and there's still one more episode to go. I imagine it is gonna be nothing but the other shoe dropping hard.
