Time to rush for 500 yards in a season!

If I could actually start somewhere instead of being in a committee that would be nice. But after 2 years of injuries not sure if I'd be high enough rated to do that

The number of 35-0 shutouts makes it seem like the games simulation engine is messed up or something

Man. So missed like 1.5 seasons out of 2 due to injury. And it seems I'm barely being used too. Doesn't bode well for the future and getting a starting gig somewhere

Eh I don't think it was that cut and dry. I was part of the groups who were doing the early clears of Coil, Extremes and Savage modes in ARR and HW. I distinctively remember having to use heavily melded crafted gear as a DPS (because top ilvl gear was so bottlenecked / subject to weekly drops) or having to gear my tank for DPS because DPS checks were so brutal. It was always a pain because one of our tanks refused to do anything but full tank build and full tank stance so I had to have both DPS tank and a DPS geared depending on the composition we went in as. And it was stupid expensive to do so without any hope of getting a return on the gear afterwards. I know my PLD was full STR rather than VIT on point distribution

I also seem to recall BLMs needing a certain PIE amount to make a rotation work or needing a certain amount of skill speed on DPS. There was definitely minor nuances to selecting the right gear or using melded things to make certain builds work

Maybe there is still nuance but at a glance it seems to be just stick on the highest ilvl gear and learn the fight mechanics? Maybe mechanics got harder to compensate because on the face of it, it seems gearing and job skills got simpler?

Started playing again recently on a new character with the missus who hasn't played before. I had previously quit during Stormblood. Man, ARR is such a fucking slog. I had hoped I remembered wrong but seemingly I had not. It's kinda crazy how much bonus exp you get on a new server with the bonuses though. I'm routinely a good 15+ levels ahead of the MSQ (I'm 40 right now at Toto rak which is a 24 dungeon)

Also it seems they butchered / over simplified a lot of things. Seems like lots of stats have disappeared along with some game mechanics. They already took the minor nuance out of gear choice mattering at the start of Heavensward but it seems they have dialed up the over simplification of the game to 11. I am assuming the difficulty of things has decreased and they have gone the route of everyone can do everything rather than having a decent chunk of difficult content and some content for the hardcore people?

How many downs per game is it roughly? Like 40-50 per side of the ball?

Probably yes. He's had equally as good games but not on that stage with as many missing players as we did.

Also, interesting stat. Since 2014-15 when he entered the league, no player has defended LeBron better than Aaron Gordon on a points per 100 possessions basis.

Fultz and Gordon were both fantastic tonight as we beat the Lakers despite being down to the absolute bare bones. We had to give significant minutes to a two way player and a dude we picked up on a 10 day contract only yesterday.

I expect a lot of Fultz and Gordon highlights to be shown tomorrow. Gordon had multiple highlight reel dunks (including one like T Mac used to do off the backboard) and Fultz finishing under the rim was phenomenal all night

I guess I'm more surprised by the Magic fans willingness to go back to that type of culture after 7 years of being at the wrong end of the lotto for very little return. We saw that a losing culture is not good for developing talent. At some point you have to try win and abandoning ship after 1 playoff season just seems ridiculous to me. Especially as we have been absolutely riddled with injuries this season.

Like is a pick at 11-14 really going to make the difference compared to a pick at 15-17? The cost to move up wouldn't be awful if you have to have a dude at like 8-14. Whereas the difference from 15 to 5 and 12 to top 5 isn't a whole lot because you're going to have to give up a ton regardless.

Unless they think we are going to win the lottery with like a 0.6% chance or some shit

Magic fans are currently arguing amongst themselves whether we should try drop out of the playoffs as we know we have little chance against anyone in the first round.

I'm of the opinion you get to the playoffs to try continue a winning culture but I'm surprised by how many people just want to tank if you can't contend. Like it's pretty rare to go from early lottery to contending. It's a gradual process but most fans just think that the only way up is getting a good lotto pick. It's not even like we could fall into a decent lotto pick either, would be like 12-14 range at best.

Booker absolutely won that game though. 1 steal (plus an assisted steal) and 2 stone cold 3's with under a minute remaining.

Magic fans were miserable after the game because we were missing literally half our rotation (5 players out) but then we still had the game in hand and choked it. Some blamed the refs (which 2 minute report backed up) but really just don't commit multiple turnovers when you're up by 4 points with 58 seconds left. Make them foul you or at least take the full shot clock.

Could be a long week for us with 5 more road games to come and 2 look unwinnable (B2B against both LA teams)

Those uni's are amazing. I was in the club store day 1 buying a Fultz city jersey. The floor is also great. I prefer them to most of our normal uni's, especially this seasons statement jerseys which are way worse than last seasons

Fultz absolutely balled out tonight and basically singlehandedly won the game. Career high 25 with a burst of 12 when he checked back in during the 4th with game tied (Magic won by 12)

Well I could not have been more wrong. We absolutely throttled the Heat in the 4th. Held them to 6 points and honestly it feels like we could have held them to less. We are so ridiculously up and down.

My random seat allocation did me an absolute solid too. It gave me lower bowl center court Row 6. Those 2 tickets individually would cost the same price as my 2 season tickets total. Fast Break Season Ticket undefeated.

How do you think I feel as a Magic fan? I threw a watch party for Magic fans at my house that game and that happened in the first 2 minutes of the game. Sucked all the life out of the room when it happened.

I actually drove my ass down to our G league team last night to see what our options were. BJ Johnson is really good and should be given minutes. I'd convert his two way tomorrow but Clifford being Clifford will play some depressing combo of Iwundu, Jefferson and Birch who are all awful offensively and whilst not bad defenders, nowhere near the level of Isaac.

I'd also expect Vic Law to be given a 10 day contract somewhere if the Magic don't do something with him

This game is infuriating as an Ohio State fan and I wish I could look at it impartially. It feels like we have been the clear better team by a decent margin and yet due to missed tackles and flags we are somehow losing

I'm entering tonight with Aaron Jones to play and a 7 point lead. He has Blake Martinez to play who averages 20 points a game as an IDP.

I'm favored to win by 5.4 but I'm pretty concerned that Jones could have one of those bust games.

I knew I should have played Kenyan Drake which is obviously easy to say now but even without a breakout I figured he was more likely to be consistent. I forgot to come back and make a final decision though (and I probably still stick with Jones) due to the OT games

I am currently projected to lose by 4.1 points.

The other dude got a +5 headstart due to higher playoff seeding. We have the same record and I have more points scored ( which is the tiebreaker) so I should have been the higher seed.

I have already told the GM I will be furious if I lose by less than 10 points.

Hopefully it sorts itself out and either I win or I lose by more than 10 so it wasn't a factor.

I bought the missus a Switch for Xmas although I gave her it early. I haven't owned a Nintendo sconsole since the Super Nintendo so most Nintendo games are not really my thing.

So I guess she likes RPGs, Puzzles, Visual Novels and cutesy games but can get invested purely on art and storyline/characters (as long as the difficulty won't overwhelm her)

Still projected to win my championship game but getting a little uneasy now as I have left so many points on the bench (Drake, Woods, Boyd) and I have this sinking feeling starters aren't going to do anything. I have Elliot, Ekeler and Sutton out there against only Cobb and I'm 18 points behind. I really want to be at least even by the time these games are over.

Removing phases of the game to get a result is garbage and that's what a TD on the first possession does. If both teams have awful defenses or really good offenses then saying you should just get a stop doesn't fly for me.

So if it isn't that common it shouldn't be a problem to play another drive on the rare instances it happens.

Nah, it's completely different. Scoring a TD in a single drive is much more difficult than forcing a punt or a 4th down stop.

When you are going to OT in a game that ends 35-35 I would argue that it is far harder for a team to get a stop than to get a TD.

Disagree. Why is the offense getting favored? Can you imagine if they said the defending team wins if the defense stops them on the first possession? It's no different.

I don't have a dog in the fight and most OT rules are stupid but I continue to hate the TD on the 1st possession ends OT rule. There's zero reason the opponent shouldn't get a chance to match

I'm kind of being an asshole but I'm trying to prove a point. 7 of my championship team I picked up off waivers completely uncontested (i.e. snagging them on like Sunday morning as a FA)

I dropped Wentz at 12:57 for Ryan Fitzpatrick on waivers. Fitzmagic in the championship game baby! What on earth could go wrong?!

I've played Lavonte most of the season. Today when it mattered I played Cunningham since he has 65 tackles in his last 5 games.

Realistically it should be A but most companies will go with B.

It probably also partially depends on how the company treats an inclemental weather day in regards to being payable. At my company sometimes they are paid days off, sometimes they are not. When they are not then employees are given the option to burn a days holiday in order to get paid.

I've turned down a 20k raise to jump ship before as I've been with the same company 15 years and preferred to stick with the company where I knew the culture and management. I can't imagine turning down a 60-80k raise though, I'd have taken the risk for that much of a raise for sure

Just going to requote this to show that I made the same decision as you in a similar scenario. It's far better to stick with what you're comfortable with and people you trust for the sake of $15-20k.

We are playing bad enough that it won't matter but these refs are fucking atrocious. Like as bad as I have seen in a looooong time
