I voted Ravens not because they are in the AFC North but because I'm not convinced they are much better than myself or the Bengals and I think both those teams would get crushed

So basically 8 of the top 10 teams are playoff teams/contenders and the other 2 were right on the periphery of the playoffs.

Steelers and 49ers were a bit further away but I assume their rush stats are a by product of scheme and having scrambling QBs (or at least for part of the season for 49ers)

Hmm, I wonder if it also syncs up in conference fixtures on the same schedule which would mean it only needed 4 fixture patterns for the league with home/away variance

NFC East - 6-7 Wins + 6 Wins
NFC West - 10 Wins + 10 Wins
NFC South - 10 Wins + 9 Wins
NFC North - 7 Wins

That also means I am 0-8 against the NFC East since I know I went 6-0 in the AFC North in the year I ended up 6-10 and I went 0-4 against them this season

Are Madden cross conference schedule cyclical or does it just do whatever the hell it wants? I know the AFC North played the NFC East this season, West last season, South the year before that. I can't remember the last time I played the NFC North though.

I think that says more about how having a good defense is a must.

At least 7 out of the top 10 defenses are playoff teams/contenders (and presumably there's others that don't meet the top 16 rushing criteria)

I guess the better question is this. Is there a Top 10 Defense that isn't a playoff contender? And is there a Top 10 Rushing team that isn't a playoff contender?

Granted sacks aren't everything but the 8th DE off the board is the one on the sacks leaderboard.

Is Melvin Gordon a shoe in for offensive rookie of the year or is his yardage based on ridiculous volume? I think I remember you saying his YPC wasn't great?

Oh hey Richardson is up to 12 Sacks in his rookie season. That's pretty good considering I've only ever had 3 players get double digit sacks in a season before and they were all linebackers (Tufts 10, Laurinaitis 11, McClain 13)

So I guess I may have 1 positive to pull from the season and hopefully he's increased in rating a little despite the losing because lord knows the rest of the team must have regressed

Well that ends any slim hope I had of making the playoffs. I know not technically but realistically it does. This has been my most disappointing season to date. I didn't think I'd make the playoffs from the get go but I still managed to be underwhelming

Least it looks like we may get a few different teams in the playoffs this year

I mean it kinda is given the drop off at the TE position. Obviously the goal is the most points possible but in my league the gap between TE8 and TE11 (where Witten is in that league) is larger than the gap from TE11 to TE23.

Witten is also TE13 if you go off average points per week (Basically Dissly + his backup after injury outscored Witten on a weekly basis)

Anything from TE11 onwards is kinda very samey. He's not trash but he's not really relevant either, I guess a fringe starter / weekly streamer territory is an accurate description

In a similar situation Stan. Jamario started the season injured, came back, instantly out for the season. Signed a replacement, out for the season. Signed another replacement, now injured. To go along with my 98 rated OT and 92 rated MLB being injured too. This season has been miserable.

Edit: Oh I guess on the positive side, my draft stock is going to be high enough that I might be able to get a decent playmaker. Maybe.

What about defensive rookie of the year? I know Richardson has a decent amount of sacks but not sure if he had done enough other stuff to be in the running

Somehow I ended up having my punter playing QB? Despite entering the game with 3 fully healthy QBs? They also knocked out my best player for the season and presumably early in the game given his backups stats. And then they were only able to win the game due to a 4th quarter comeback including a PR TD

I think a lot of my offensive problems stem from the HB position. Jamario is usually fantastic, if injury prone, and I underestimated just how good Moore was for me last season. I guess I thought I'd be able to just pick someone up or plug in my backup and get similar numbers to Kestahn if Jamario got hurt. And I was completely wrong, it was more on the HBs than the O-line / system.

I think all my strategy tweaks have been counter productive too. Has done great for the defense but has completely stifled the offense.

Also losing my best player for the rest of the season hurts. McClain was probably in the running for DPOTY (or like in the choice of 5) so him going down is going to screw me probably.

I'd say I am already out of the playoffs as there's no way I even go 3-1 nevermind 4-0 that might actually be required. Said for awhile I was looking at 8-8

I think I typically put in about 10k a year. I did do a withdrawal last year to put towards a deposit on a house though

Of all the intimidating receivers corps you could face, this week I was facing this. Christian Kirk, Golden Tate, Mark Andrews and Kyler Murray QB. I thought that was basically one of the weakest groups in the league and a surefire win.

Murray - 322 Passing, 38 Rushing, 3 TDs
Kirk - 6 Rec, 138 Yards, 3 TDS
Tate - 4 Rec, 89 Yards, 2 TDs
Andrews - 6 Rec, 53 Yards, 2 TDs

It has not ended well for me.

I have been telling people all season that Alabama's SOS was terrible and they very possibly weren't as good as people said. And people have fucking ridiculed me for it. I feel very vindicated

Also 4 games is such a cop out. Kind of convenient that the NCAA will suspend him but will make sure he's back for the biggest games (I.e. Big 10 Championship if we make it and Bowl Game / Playoffs where applicable)

Got to punish him but they can't risk losing a star player for their big money games!

It should either be a 1 game suspension or for the season imo.

The NCAA rules are stupid but even as an Ohio State fan I can see this is potentially problematic if the money came from a booster or an agent.

Seems the money was just for a flight for his girlfriend to the Rose Bowl too so not even anything ridiculous

Sorry you had to go through that, I too recently have had to deal with some absolute BS from the Catholic church (which is doubly bad as I'm not religious)

I was with my ex-wife for 10 years and married for 7. We separated and divorced because essentially we grew apart, we were still friends but just didn't love each other anymore. She even admitted I was far nicer than I had to be in the divorce (I just signed over the house to her and didn't ask for any money).

Anyway fast forward a few years and we have both moved on to different relationships, we are still friends and she recently got engaged. Now because her fiance is Catholic apparently our divorce isn't enough, he needs a full on annulment in order to stay in the good graces of his church. Personally I think this is ridiculous because it absolutely was a genuine marriage and all of the questions on the annulment forms basically require you to say it wasn't at any point a real marriage.

This is actually a double dick move by the Catholic church to me because I emigrated to the US (for my ex-wife who no longer wanted to live in England) on a marriage green card. The marriage absolutely wasn't for visa purposes (we got married in England and then moved to the US a few years later) but if I get an annulment I don't even know how I begin to explain that on my green card renewal. Being divorced when I renew it is fine as I've been here for so long and the marriage was genuine. However having it annulled would basically be an insta-flag for deportation because it would make it look like I lied to the government on the initial application and only got married for visa purposes.

So basically because of the Catholic churches backwards ass traditions that haven't updated with the times, I may potentially face deportation if I agree to what my ex-wife wants and if I don't agree I'll come across as a dick (she understands but I'm not sure he will).

So yeah, I 100% understand when you say the Catholic church is awful. They truly, truly are.

Right now I have just been putting out statistics and analytics in a more friendly way that people can digest as I realize a lot of people aren't great with numbers. I'm not the only one who does it, however I am the only one who does it whilst not being an asshole about it.

From what the guy said he likes that I'm approachable to everyone and always friendly in my interactions. He said that whenever I put things out it's to point out things that people overlook or to clear up misconceptions and I do it in a way that comes across as nice. Whereas he says the other guys who do it only pull stats basically to be assholes and put people down or prove they are right.

I think there must have been some rumblings of this happening or someone had put my name out there recently since completely out of the blue 2 of the current (unofficial) Magic media outlets asked me to write for them this week. I know the influencer who I said yes to has been throwing my name out there to a lot of people recently so that may be it. He basically told me to hang tight until he had chance to pitch to me this morning. I think I'd rather take my chances with his startup than go with either of the other 2 who are relatively small. Especially since he regularly has interactions with current Magic players

One of the Magic's main social media influencers really likes my analytics and wants me to be part of the podcast team he is putting together. I don't know how big it will be but he has a reasonable enough amount of clout that when he says he thinks we can get media passes from it down the line, I believe him. He already has a following that is larger than all the other Magic podcasts combined (and one of them gets media access)

I am super hyped if this works out as I've bee doing this basically for fun and to keep the fanbase informed rather than for clout as I was tired of them throwing baseless shit out there and it spiralling.

I have no idea whether I'm a good fit at the Broncos or not so not sure moving elsewhere even helps
