Sucks that I did my bracket last minute and forgot to enter the Guru this year. Well I say forgot, traditionally I don't enter anyway as I've only ever had like 2 good brackets

I was just looking at the brackets to see what could catch me. Is XIII's bracket actually possible? Unless the wrong result was fixed? Looks like he has Megaman winning losers R5 but Mario winning losers final. That's not possible if he also has Mario winning R4 losers.

I assume he had Megaman R4 losers and then Mario losers R5 and losers final. Which means he can catch me I think

There isn't anybody in front of me, I'm currently in 1st.

I can check the Guru to see what a few people behind me have but it isn't accurate because if it was, XIII would be winning with 396 right now. It looks like no guru bracket can catch me unless theres some double Cloud win that I didn't check far enough down to find out

I think the permutations I need to maintain 1st are

Link > Zelda
Mario > Cloud
Zelda > Mario
Link > Zelda

Just a Mario win tomorrow may be enough depending on if anyone within 8 points of me has Mario winning both matches. I'm sure someone has it though, same ss someone within reach probably has Cloud winning

I feel with Zelda not keeping it anywhere near close, I am more likely not to win than win

Out of curiosity, how many female characters stayed static or dropped and how many exceeded expectations? Because using KOS-MOS as constant may not be ideal if females in general overperformed

When I was in college it was the people/atmosphere rather than the learning that was fun.

Was Metroid ever a thing in Europe btw?

Can't speak for the rest of Europe, but my only exposure to anything Metroid related was Mother Brain in the Captain N show and it took until 2006 for me to discover Samus in the first place. When I first saw her in Super Smash Flash, I legitimately thought she was some sort of Xbox/Halo character.

Granted, I was too young for the SNES era and didn't grow up with the N64 outside of Mario 64, 1080, Banjo and Pokemon Stadium.

I loved Super Metroid and I was in England then so yeah it was a thing

Mario wouldn't have to 67-68% Squall for him to be stronger than Zelda.

Well Zelda put up 63.3 on him. So if you are saying she beat him via bandwagon, then he has to beat Squall by a decent chunk more.

It's not like Zelda has gradually put in more and more impressive results. She was ridiculous out of the gate and put immediate response was Squall must suck now but the rest of her results suggest she just really is that strong

Do you think Mario puts up like 67-68% on Squall? Because if theres a Zelda bandwagon then that's potentially what we are looking at

I think the reason that AI teams do that is because you can scout players and it gives you feedback which you can equate to a certain attribute being in a set range. So that's why AI likely sometimes make great reaches.

Obviously for KCF to do scouting for us it would be ridiculously time consuming and a ton of added work for him so we just draft blind without the added phrases tipping us off if a player is good or bad at a certain aspect of his position.

Didn't Ultimecia also share all the same weapon names as Rinoa in Dissidia? And no other villain does that

Looks like in the 2012 draft, they both predicted right position for you too. 1 got the correct player too

2013 I think was a google doc rather than sheet so I cant fine easily on my phone to see how they predicted it

You had 2 1st round picks. 2 predicted the wrong player but right position in the first pick, I predicted wrong completely but then said in my immediate edit I messed up and thought you take a Guard (which you did) but I couldn't be bothered to revise my picks for other people to compensate

Your second 1st round pick 2 out 3 got the correct player and position

It's pretty hard to get the exact right player when we don't know the order past the first 10 and the further you get into the draft, the harder it becomes to know what has been taken. So for picking 2 so far down in the round, we did pretty damn well tbh!

I think Cloud who is at worst #4 and potentially #2 is in fact 10% stronger than someone praying for top 20 and probably top 25... yes.

I don't think Cloud can win at all. I am expecting a 55-45 easy victory for Mario.

I think 25th is a large stretch. You would have to believe that everyone in legends bracket beats him plus find 9 more in the original bracket.

If we are being very generous and saying he definitely is the weakest in legends then maybe from main bracket you can say MMX, Vivi, Luigi, Kirby. Then I have to start stretching. You could have Aerith and Squall if you run the xstats funky and saying Zelda is constant. That gets you to 22nd. I'm struggling to find more and I also think that is already being very, very generous

I think realistically we are looking at the 10-15 range

Well if you run Seph's xstat through the Tifa loss instead of the Mario loss which is a little bit cheaty I admit, Seph is going to end up as the weakest FF7 character in the bracket via xstats

Granted that's flawed because of running it through his loser bracket result and also having to believe Zelda > Aerith is the same strength Zelda as legends bracket Zelda

I should say I have a guaranteed -8 still as well since I don't have the winner of the loser bracket correct

Assuming Mario holds today and Link wins out I have somewhere between 156 and 164 points to come out of a possible 172 remaining. And I'm guessing the only people who can gain on me have Cloud running through the losers bracket (or somehow called Zelda's run correctly and she wins losers bracket or it all)

I guess worst case I likely stay in the Top 50.
