and on the contrary TC, I dont think your caring less has to do with getting older. As I get older I like the excuse to get together with people I care about

Thats why Ill celebrate the new year with friends/family this weekend. If NYE fell on a weekend then it would be a different story, but Im not gonna take time off of work to celebrate the flip of a calendar page(like others at my job plan on doing, or getting fucked up and still coming in the next day....yep, gonna be a late one)

https://www.tmz.com/2019/12/27/doordash-driver-killed-dennys-armed-robbery-fbi-manhunt/

A DoorDash delivery driver was shot and killed in an early morning armed robbery at a Denny's ... and a manhunt is on for the suspects.

The 2 men entered the restaurant in Manassas, Virginia around 2:20 AM the day after Christmas while brandishing guns and were reportedly robbing the place when Yusuf Ozgur, a DoorDash employee, arrived to pick up an order.

Ozgur was tragically killed when he encountered the suspects as they were running out ... according to police.

Surveillance footage shows the men running into the Denny's with dark clothes, masks and gloves on before holding the place up. Prince William County police describe them as in their late teens to early 20s.

There were reportedly over 20 customers and employees in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.

The FBI and local police are offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in Ozgur's killing.

The delivery driver was a husband and father of 2. His family tells WJLA he was a handyman working for DoorDash to earn extra money for the family.

Both DoorDash and Denny's released statements of sympathy following the death, and say they are coopering with authorities in the investigation.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/12/26/tobacco-minimum-age-fda-raises-age-buy-tobacco-18-21/2753807001/

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has officially changed the federal minimum age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21.

The new minimum age applies to all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and vaping cartridges.

The provision came as part of a $1.4 trillion spending package signed by President Donald Trump on Dec. 20, which amended the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, which also included $1.4 billion reserved for building the U.S.-Mexico border wall and $25 million for gun violence research.

It had bipartisan support, being introduced in May by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va.

What was unclear in the proposal, however, was when the change in the minimum age would be enacted. From the date of Trump signing the legislation, the FDA had six months to amend their policies, per Convenience Store News.

After that, the minimum age change would take place within 90 days.

However, the FDA website now reads: It is now illegal for a retailer to sell any tobacco product including cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes to anyone under 21. The FDA website states that the website was updated Dec. 20.

The FDA also noted that more information will be available regarding the policy change as it becomes available.

Nineteen states and the District of Columbia have already raised the minimum age on tobacco products to 21, according to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

.
.
.
They should just ban vape/e-cigs in general, smoke tobacco like a real man/woman!

Seriously. I mean, props to TC for being a good prole, but let's not pretend like working yourself to death is some kind of moral imperative. Unless your job is something that's really special to you, then you should not put your company's productivity above your own mental and physical health.

This I can agree with, it's just my mindset that I really have no reason NOT to go into work unless it necessary, like today.

Been at my current job for 2 1/12 years, usually never take timeoff, (just save all my PTO/sick leave/points for a rainy day) but woke up feeling like crap(42hrs+ in 3 days, ran down) and know it would have been another 12hr night+....and we gotta work Christmas Eve and New Years Eve so no fucks given about taking a day to myself.

A legit sick day, not like the non-work ethic dicks that take a day off just to stay home and play video games and in turn screw the shift over for everyone else

Least I'm getting paid 10hrs for my sick day.....thanks Michigan Paid Sick Leave Law 2019! :)
