Been at my current job for 2 1/12 years, usually never take timeoff, (just save all my PTO/sick leave/points for a rainy day) but woke up feeling like crap(42hrs+ in 3 days, ran down) and know it would have been another 12hr night+....and we gotta work Christmas Eve and New Years Eve so no fucks given about taking a day to myself.

A legit sick day, not like the non-work ethic dicks that take a day off just to stay home and play video games and in turn screw the shift over for everyone else

Least I'm getting paid 10hrs for my sick day.....thanks Michigan Paid Sick Leave Law 2019! :)

Took a week off in October because I couldn't stand for longer than 5 minutes

It pisses me off when employers ask for a doctor's note when you're sick. Most people get well in a day or two, nobody goes to the doctor.

I'm currently feeling ill and still went in to work today.

I'm on antibiotics and they have me feeling groggy. I feel like I should have just stayed home but I need the $$.

My employer doesn't require a doctor's note until 3+ days in a row. I think that's reasonable.

Seriously. I mean, props to TC for being a good prole, but let's not pretend like working yourself to death is some kind of moral imperative. Unless your job is something that's really special to you, then you should not put your company's productivity above your own mental and physical health.

I presume my time here in my darkblack dragondark steel-obliterating solitude has come to its end as well.

I went home at lunch today to play video games because I was bored and they give me plenty of time off

Probably worded it wrong, these are employees who slack off every single day, causing the late hours in the first place

This I can agree with, it's just my mindset that I really have no reason NOT to go into work unless it necessary, like today.

Is it reasonable if you don't have insurance and basically have to pay for that doctor's note? What if you can't afford that doctor visit to get the note?

I get sick a lot during ski season. I'm not screwing anyone over though; I manage my own projects and they manage theirs.

I guess that it is only reasonable for employers who provide health insurance, then. @SomeGuyUO
