Eh, it's really hard to remember the logic leap in cases. It's really only something that comes up on the first time you play through the game. I remember the E-3 issue with the 2 costumes was a dumb logic leap, but not much else.

I think Little Thief is underutilized because Kay is underutilized. They only show up in E-3 and E-5 in the original game. That changes in AAI2.

DD and SOJ have a different director than most AA games and there is a definite tone change with DD and SOJ. Both games are pretty good though. I'd say most people have SOJ and AAI2 around the same level of prestige as the original trilogy.

I can agree with your issues with AAI writing. Edgeworth as the protagonist changes the writing in a weird way and I don't think AAI2 fixes it either. I didn't think it was a big problem when he guest starred in 3-5...maybe it's just because he's so much of the focus in AAI.

I think general consensus has AAI is mediocre. Not as bad as AJ, but most cases are average with the finale case peaking way too early. AJ is...hm. There's at least one major issue in every case and it definitely has a lot of really dumb story beats.

AAI2 is really good though...!

Pepper - BurgerTime stars a character named Peter Pepper. That's actually one of the first games I played ever.
Gabi - Looks to be an Animal Crossing character, which I've played.

I love Smoldering Air. Most calls are pretty good and being able to do it as often as possible is just a really good way of crowd control.

All of Aphrodite's duos are pretty good except for Cold Embrace and maybe Sweet Nectar. Not only that, but Aphrodite is just great in general since she gives you really good Attack and Special buffs too. I'm going to go with Heart Rend, but any of them work very well.

All of them are good, but Arthur is a classic.

If you want to really go hard on Poseidon, it's best to go with Artemis. You want Exit Wounds ASAP and then going for her Legendary is nice too.

I'm 1000% sure Infinity Wars is #1. It's just really damn good on so many levels. Yeah, there's definitely critiques to it, but I can't imagine another film that is just at least a top 3 movie for so many people.

I did a little bit of reading on this but yeah, its basically a meme origin. There were ironic memes with Heath Ledger Joker talking to Two Face with the top text being We live in a society and the bottom text became some edgy opinion. This then just became we live in a society bottom text. Then Joker (2019) has a climax where Joker basically says a more sophisticated version of we live in a society. And now were here where the Joker just says it word for word.

Homecoming has the better villain portrayal and the Iron Man/Spider-Man relationship. I like FFH a lot, but I feel like the highest high is the Berlin scene and maybe the stinger. Both of which are good, but we're getting to the top tier of MCU movies now.

Not sure if FFH or GOTG2 goes out next. GOTG2 has the higher high with Yondu's scenes, but is generally worse overall.

Case 3 as number 1...that's an interesting DR1 decision. Glad you liked it. I'm not big on the characters themselves in DR1, but I do think their design is very, very strong.

All legendary boons are pretty good. Hermes, Artemis, and Demeter are most applicable to any build. Zeus and Ares needs to be built up, but really do an excellent job rounding out a heavy Zeus/Ares build respectively.

Ant-Man's a great superhero. I'm not sure why AM1 failed to resonate with me while AMaTW did during my Marvel rewatch, but that's how it is.

Most of the films that dropped are origin stories. The only other ones are iffy sequels. Out of the remaining origin stories, Dr. Strange and maybe Black Panther are the only ones I'd say are OK. Dr. Strange should definitely go out next.

I should watch Iron Man 3 again. I think it's good, but its biggest strengths are just not carried through to the MCU canon. I'm very much reminded of Stark's PTSD post-IM3, but I don't have any glimpses of Stark's growth post-IM3.

Kinda odd that Ant-Man and the Wasp is below Ant-Man. I guess Ant-Man has the novelty, more Hank, and more Michael Pena. But Ant-Man and the Wasp always just felt way more fun, mainly because we already established all the characters now.

I have no idea what would even be ranking at #23. I guess Iron Man 3?

Justin Hammer is probably the only really stand-out thing about Iron Man 2.

Also anti-shoutout to the Elon Musk cameo, but I guess he was still a little bit acceptable back then.

Thor 1 is probably next. I could see Ant-Man too. The heist movie is a neat concept, but god, it really does not hold well after seeing everything. I was just bored the entire time and Ant-Man and the Wasp really feels like it should have been the first Ant-Man movie.

Convinced enough not to touch the other two Fates though. I'll just play Conquest like a standalone game.

I agree with you. Conquest is actually in my top 3 Fire Emblem games and I basically played all but the Japanese ones.

I will say that, gameplay-wise, Conquest is a straight upgrade from Awakening. All those random +5 to Hit or +10 to Avoid skills are just replaced with more simple +1 damage done or -1 damage received. Reclassing is much more streamlined. Everyone gets a personal skill and 2 other classes that they can reclass to. Pair Up is nerfed, because Fates does "Attack Stance" and "Guard Stance," which I think is much better. The UI looks much nicer. And, of course, the map design is significantly better. Awakening has some of the worst maps in the series and Conquest, while it has its fair share of bad maps, has a lot of stand-out designs. The only thing that I think Awakening does better than Conquest are how they handle the kids.

It's just kinda hard to tell if I want Fates-style gameplay going forward. The next two games are Echoes and Three Houses, which both have radically different styles. I'm not sure if I want Fire Emblem 16 to be refined Three Houses, refined Fates, or something new altogether.

If you do play Fates, just go with Conquest. Though I would caution some of the harder difficulties because the last few stages do not mess around.

Story is really bad and Corrin is an awful protagonist. Conquest cast is pretty OK though, but that might because of the Awakening characters. And Elise. Shes good too.

Still haven't gotten around to watching Hulk, so I have nothing really to say about that one.

I dunno how everyone else feels about this, but Phase 3 is really where Marvel gets its footing down. The bad movies tend to veer more towards above-average than mediocre or bad. Meanwhile, Phase 1 and Phase 2...you can literally count the great movies on one hand. That's mainly what deterred me from doing this and I'm curious if B8 feels the same way.

Definitely Iron Man 2 next. That movie really has nothing except the humor and its humor is easily eclipsed by a lot of other Marvel movies. I remember seeing the climax of the movie and was like "That....that can't be it, right?"

Glad you like 2-6. I was big on 2-6 after finishing it, but I dunno. I feel like it does a good job recontextualizing DR2, but as a case in itself, it's not amazing. Better finale than 1-6, though.

I couldn't confirm anything with the Fuyuhiko/Hiyoko theory, but Hiyoko's death was very haphazard and there's also a clue specifically to her in 2-6. Personally, I like Fuyuhiko a lot. He fit the no-nonsense niche that the group kinda needed. Maybe I just want someone to just go "what the fuck are you talking about" to Kazuichi and Akane.

If you continue on to the DR3 anime, you should know that it's split into 2 halves: Future Arc and Despair Arc. Future Arc is chronologically set after DR2 and is about the Future Foundation. Despair Arc is chronologically set before the Evil Truly Bad Really Horrible event or whatever and focuses on the DR2 cast. You're supposed to watch Future 1, Despair 1, Future 2, Despair 2, etc.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it. Ultra Despair Girls is real bad and is kinda needed for DR3. The best parts of DR3 is some portions of the Despair Arc, but some of the worst parts are also in the Despair Arc, so.

FFVI has decent representation in Dissidia. The two reps are Terra and Kefka. Locke shows up briefly as a rep in Dissidia NT. Kefka probably got a better deal than Terra. Hearing him voiced (and having actually good art beyond the FF6 sprite) goes a long way.

Also, I don't think I went over this in FFV, but Gilgamesh is also playable in Dissidia. He's as incredible as you would think he is.

if you have a LOT of free time, I would definitely recommend the Robert Caro series on LBJ. In addition to being just a great series of books, it also works very nicely through an audiobook format.

Hotel Dusk/Last Window is pretty good and a breath of fresh air if you're tired of visual novels with anime tropes. It's definitely more of a point-and-click adventure than a VN.

I do have some love for ZTD. I think it definitely provokes a reaction moreso than the other games. Also, Carlos is hilarious.
