So neighbor that had 2 litters of 4 took one in to the humane society, and had to pay 90 dollars. That probably explains why people are dumping cats around here it seems.

About 2 years ago it was just Mystic, momma, and 2-3 others in a good sized area. But the territorial crunch is visible real time, as there's currently these 9, 5-6 across the street, and 8 adjacent. These 9 (well 10 originally) used to have 4-5 yards to roam freely in, now it's barely down to two as they can't even be at peace in our yard. Cinder and Jett spend time on the opposite side of a neighbor's property, Sofie, Sunnie, Misty spend it in a neighbor's yard in the other direction. Mirage, Sadie, Momma, and Mystic have the garbage cans and porch on lock down.

As I type this, I'm listening to some random siamese looking cat screaming in either sexual pleasure or absolutely hatred at the cats across the street.
-
Oh yeah, and these cats are totally like little kids. Every morning, Cinder, Jett, and Mirage will run next door and romp around the neighbor's fenced in yard for about 5-10 minutes before retreating back. They do this to tease the dogs that then come out and realize "cats!"

You do so much for those feline friends!!! They are really lucky to have you watching out for them :)

Not agreeing with universal free college tuition =/= disregarding societal benefits of higher education.

Don't twist my point.

My apologies - I took "Why bother?" to show dismissal of the benefit of higher education since your two sentences afterwards were arguing such.

We're in a country right now where the vast majority of people have degrees but are underemployed in relation to their education due to the overall saturation of degree holders in the market. Disregarding obvious fields where you need a license to operate in, we have tech companies more than willing to hire someone who built a portfolio of projects in his spare time using the wealth of knowledge and information freely available over people who studied the craft in school. So what is the argument right now for universal free college tuition?

This statement also seems to argue against higher education (in tech) rather than free tuition.
But to answer your specific question - two points come to mind:
1) I'm not sure your broad statement is true - there are some people that have been hired due to work without formal training, but they are the exception, not the rule.
2) Free college tuition would greatly benefit the disadvantaged who don't have the free time to learn from "the wealth of knowledge and information freely available", much less have the time to "build a portfolio".

Look it up, they can save around 20% of the total and then let their insurance cover the rest.

Fox can take a tax deduction from the settlement, Lever News reports. U.S. tax law allows companies to write off at least some portion of settlement fees as part of the cost of doing business. (There are some exceptions, including for cases involving accusations of sexual harassment or abuse with nondisclosure agreements; Fox News has paid out settlements involving those in the past.)
It is unclear how much Fox will save, though a spokesman confirmed that tax deductibility is at play. Lever News estimated that the company could reap as much as $213 million in tax savings.
In addition, Fox also may deduct their settlement payments for state and local income tax purposes, Rosenthal noted.
Had the case gone to trial and Fox lost, any compensatory and punitive damages it had to pay also would have been tax deductible if it had to pay them out of pocket.
The [compensatory] damages would have related to conduct that Fox engaged in as part of its trade or business. The tax treatment of punitive damages is a little more difficult, but as a general matter those damages would be deductible as well again, because they arose out of conduct that Fox took in connection with its trade or business and for the purpose of protecting its revenue stream that is, to not lose viewers to other outlets promoting election fraud claims, Hellwig said.

UnfairRepresent posted...
Yup

It's pretty common to have insurance companies cover payments for you

Funnily enough Amber Heard had an insurance company that was supposed to pay out to Depp but they sued Amber Heard claiming their agreement was void because Amber Heard lied to them and they won their lawsuit.

So now Amber Heard legit owes Depp $1,000,000 of her own money

Is it confirmed that Fox's insurance will pay the full settlement amount?

RE the tax write off - while financially it does represent a lesser total amount (the still have to pay the full amount to Dominion but pay less overall taxes), I've seen it pointed that the settlement and upcoming Smartmatic suit are expected to erase the complete revenue of the past year (Fox made 1.2 billion, current settlement is .7 billion, tax write off likely to put it at .5 billion). Something that erased a year's worth of revenue and sets a legal precedent for it happening again almost mandates changes in the business approach.

Why bother? Most people aren't even using their degrees as they can't find a job for what they studied for. And now we're heading to a technical revolution thanks to AI's disruption. AI is going to completely revamp what and how we learn.

Eh... I'm not sure disregarding the societal benefits of higher education is the best answer to a specific problem with higher education. Also while AI definitely has the potential to do all that, I would think lots of other things will need to happen first - high speed internet has affected schooling, entertainment, communication, health delivery, etc BUT there are SO many areas of the country still don't have high speed internet to begin with.

Since you are making the claim, I'm asking you to show the proof. In the past, you've made statements about racism, finances, legal issues, etc that were shown to be false.

Also, when you say "no other reason" - what would be a better reason to ban tasers and pepper spray?

I'll give you that women dominating college enrollment and don't prefer to date down. But this leads to a new(ish, I've seen this play out when I was school in the early 10's) dating dynamic:

https://nypost.com/2021/11/02/men-with-golden-penis-syndrome-ruining-romance-for-women/

I want to point out that guys are adapting; this is reflected in the extreme growth of the red pill community. From Andrew Tate, to Men Going Their Own Way, to all those other red pill personalities and movements. There's needs to be reconciliation and the first thing that needs to be done is to sit down and listen to guys' complaints in why they're gravitating to the red pill communities and address their concerns.
Coming in a bit late with a question (well some questions) -
1) Where have you seen this (sitting down, hearing guys complaints, and addressing them) happening/working?
2) If guys complaints are exaggerated or unsolvable, what next? (i.e. "I shouldn't have to shower")

Every successful civilization needs to have their prime working age men invested and productive in society and yet we're seeing a lot of guys checking out of society. Not even in a relationship and we're already at 60% of single males; what happens if it gets worse? Telling them it's their problem is not a solution.

3) Somewhat connected, when you say "telling them it's their problem is not a solution", are you saying it's not a solution because it doesn't suggest a course of action? or because it's (their role) is not important?

And honestly all this culture war shit doesn't really interest me, I'm just saying the videos and pictures in question, moderate voters see them and they don't usually say "well all kids twerk now".
