Stats:
  • Height: 6ft1
  • Weight: 175lbs > 185lbs
  • Squat: 45lbs > 260lbs
  • Bench: 45lbs > 175lbs
  • Deadlift: 130lbs > 440lbs
  • MS Paint skills: Very, very bad


I lift 4x a week, basically a PHUL type program (main compound lift followed by accessories).

As you can see my strength is pretty skewed. I am disproportionately stronger at pulling movements, and meanwhile I have a recurring shoulder/rotator cuff problem that basically prevents me from progressing chest exercises at all. Hence I'm developing a gorilla back and basically no pecs, lel

That's actually pretty decent progress for 2 years. You've clearly lost some pudge and gained muscle. So probably closer to 15+lbs of lean mass added

Are you able to do cable workouts without messing with your rotator injury? They tend to be a little easier on it

Your arms and back really got bigger. They look like they are genetic strong points for you. Or more likely they got overdeveloped because your shoulder injury limits your pushing strength.

My protein is consistently high (at least 140g per day) but I think my overall calorie intake is inconsistent. Struggle to gain weight.

Yeah I think I'll go back to the drawing board and try lots of lightweight rotation. Conventional pressing needs to be off the cards for a while.

I suspect a bit of both. Even before I trained I could ice people at arm wrestles and rep out 8-10 pullups, even when 3-5 pushup was tough.

My quads grew 3 inches but my waist is the same size. Bodies are weird. Thank though.

Thanks! I was actually trying to take a pic of my sunburn and noticed the gains. When you don't get any chest gains you start to wonder where they're all going because you don't really see them in the mirror.

I have rotator cuff issues too, highly recommend doing dumbbell presses instead of barbell bench to help work out your shoulders and stabilizers more.

Nah, I don't have fight experience. I think mine came from poor posture, bad calisthenic technique and not warming up or really doing the proper diligence.
