Doesn't any mods have any blithe remarks that they want to post itt? Those are usually my favorite whenever a topic is about to be locked. It's like in shows when the cop hurls an insult at the perpetrator they just captured and beat up, always makes for a humorous scene.

It is. It basically tried to focus more on comedy in the first season because that was what Fox wanted, but when it veered further into serious moments, it got a lot better.

Seth MacFarlane should have a lot of sway with fox studio heads right, do the show the way he wants. That's probably how he could even launch another sci-fi show off the ground, knowing what Fox did to the other one *cough* firefly *cough*

Orville is excellent, especially if you are a Star Trek TNG fan. It is the closest we get these days.

The first season is really good, but the show struggles a little to find the proper tone. Seasons 2-3 are GREAT and not to be missed.

The episode you cite, Majority Rule is probably my least favorite of the whole series.

Oh, is it not a good episode? I thought "you're confusing opinion with knowledge" was a surprisingly self-aware line from what I initially thought was a parody show.

And why does that girl look familiar? She's not the cobra Kai girl, thought it was her but that's another actress. I know I've seen her in something else though

The lack of organization on reddit makes me wonder how the fuck it even has those millions of people on it every day. It's no fun talking to an echo chamber, and sometimes you don't want just a very specific sub, you kind of want a general discussion of say both video games and TV shows at the same time. Not to mention the way they all have weird rules for topics and what can or can't be posted.

Also is the Orville good? Kinda interested after watching this scene, didn't seem like a comedy at all it seemed more serious than subversive.

It would be a dream come true, but on the other hand it would also relegate this board to only 20 users total (compared to now which is... 50 users, putting it generously) with only 5 active at any one time.

It's funny cause reddit is too active but not in the right way (1000 comments for a topic? There's no discussion there) and this place too dead, there's no like in-between, a happy medium.

There were some other issues at the time, but I think the crack that really cascaded the entire thing into ruin was Littlefinger giving Sansa to the Boltons. That misses the entire point of both characters.

There are so many obscure YouTube videos I've lost. I've made a habit of downloading videos or music that I worry may disappear.

I really hate that 20% of my Playlist is just gone, either the video turned private (whatever that means) or was taken down or deleted or the uploader channel in its entirety is gone. All before I got a chance to watch it. It's like "to watch later" doesn't mean anything anymore, sometimes I save things to watch at specific time points to pass the time, eg last month or when I'm waiting at an airport or airplane.

They don't even tell us which videos, that's the worst part. Youtube just puts that message at the top clearly as a taunt.

I saw these chocolate bars at the store and I was so excited to finally try them. Went home and before I even bit into one it smelled awful and I was nervous. I love this movie so much it should have made way more money than it did, and been way more ingrained in the cultural zeitgeist to be honest. Feels like it only got popular after the internet popularized it and found a home among all the loving parodies and homages by hilarious internet sketch comics.

It still floors me that it was directed by a woman and she never really made it big it seems. That ridiculous over-the-top sex scene followed by the chainsaw massacre was some terrifying shit.

The "I'm really rude, and verbally abusive, and not self aware at all, but it's OK because I'm right all the time" trope was a bad influence for lots of people in my generation, myself included that contaminated social skills.

I'm glad that type of protagonist is phasing out.

Looool you know whats funny for us agents of shields fans? Both the red one and the blue one were in agents of shield together!

The red themed one is Chloe Bennet, who is a primary character on the show, and one of the best written heroes ever. The blue themed one, I don't know her name, but she plays one of the villains who is a foil to Chloe, she's basically the Faith to Chloe's Buffy.

So it's pretty funny that they're in a show together again in very similar roles and premises.
