The trick with House of Hope is that Raphael is like, super susceptible to Otto's Irresistable Dance and Hold Monster.

Also don't forget that Hope has Divine Intervention, and because you only really use her for this part of the game, there's no excuse not to use it. I always have her Sanctuary'd and then strictly use her for healing and buffs.

Cheesing itself isn't inherently bad, but for me, the biggest problem with a lot of BG3 fights is that they're pretty trivial if you know even the basic thing about it beforehand (like the fact that it's even gonna happen), but they're something unfairly punishing when you don't know it's gonna happen.

This is true. There's quite a few fights where you basically need prior knowledge of what's going to happen to get through them.

Not necessarily a huge deal on repeat playthroughs, but some of the encounters during my first playthrough were very annoying. The House of Grief fight in particular was super fucking annoying.

That being said, with the U.S. current political situation, the only real practical solution that seems to exist is for everybody to commit to a blue wave in November, and then we sort the pieces out afterwards.

Legalization of weed didn't even help with the illegal drug trade because the government regulates and taxes it so much people can't afford to buy or sell legally. Some of the various state laws don't even make sense. The way things are set up when companies like Philip Morris are able to get in the game they'll crush any competition and small timers will be out of a job.

I'd imagine that once it becomes fully federally legal and the market is allowed to reach its full potential, the lobbyists will start fighting for lower taxes on it. Along with more competition allowing for prices to go down.

The whole "comedy is dead" has been a talking point for Conservatives for a long time. They will point to a lack of adult comedies releasing in theaters as their "proof" but all that proves is that companies would rather make cheap horror films or big blockbusters, and that comedies are more streaming only these days.

Great point. As always, many of the problems conservatives blame on the "left" can usually be traced back to capitalism.

Studios are no longer willing to invest in mid-budget sized comedy movies due to risk. It's either big budget IP movies, or low-budget horror (as you mentioned).

That being said, there's absolutely no shortage of really good comedy shows. Abbott Elementary is a great example.

The number one rule in comedy has always been to be funny. If nobody wants to watch your shit, it's because you aren't fucking funny.

If comedians aren't finding success, it's because they can't create an original punchline to save their lives.

I think he cares about having a stable and relatively safe country.

However, I don't think he cares one way or the other about the average person. Not active contempt, but rather just out of sight, out of mind.

It's a holdover from old school exclusive "gaming as an identity and refuge" culture. Gaming as these gamers thought of it used to be a maligned but safe space where they could show their skill and devotion without interference from outsiders. But gaming got so popular that countless others joined and they feel they've been made a minority in their own land. That has bred resentment because the new people are being catered to despite not understanding "the rules", they don't exhibit the skillz, their interests and values are often different.

We see the same dynamic for anything that used to be a closed boys club for middle class, socially marginal nerds. PC Building, Anime, Tabletop Gaming, etc.

Hell, people are currently doing it with the MCU and Star Wars, franchises that have basically been "mainstream" since their inception.

It seems like all of this stuff is leading us straight into the Grant Morrison X-Men stuff, followed shortly by the Astonishing X-Men Joss Whedon run. Cassandra Nova was introduced during Morrison's run and continued to be a big player into Astonishing X-Men. She also happens to be the villain in Deadpool and Wolverine.

I wonder if there's any relation between this show and the DP&W movie.
